Actually K3X, it would be in our best interests if they didn't win too many games in 2018. Let's reserve a few special ones like versus the B's or leaf...

And, if they don't suck enough to land Dahlin, that Tkachuk kid playing for the US juniors would be a nice consolation prize. Just sayin'...

    2. I hear ya the M however it is not in my DNA to suggest anything other than for them to always win. I dream I know but I also a remember a Habs team that only list 8 games in an entire season. Surely not losing more than a dozen in a half a season isn't too much to ask is it?

  3. Since the hiring of BBB by Geoff they both stated that the goal is to make the playoffs "because anything can happen" I'd like to believe that every loss leading up to missing the post season would bring us closer to the loss of BBB. Sadly, I think there would just be more excuses made...TFS was injured, BBQ was injured and my favourites, trades are hard, Che chose Dallas because of taxes and Markhov planned to go home all along. Yes, Vodkov who always bled blue, blanc et rouge was dead set against playing a few more games to make it to 1,000 mark, Vodkov who never tested free agency throughout his career, who stated he was willing to sign for 1 year, who became a Canadian citizen. Bullshit narratives pushed by their cronies in the media.

Even the RDS cronies may be turning on bargainbinbergy, Carbo and Vince think his time is up. In 6 long years he has only made them worse and yes, the Vodkov incident was fucking bullshit, bbb thought Alzzzzzzner was the answer in the room. Fuck me.

  4. Poker for me tonight. It will be more enjoyable losing a hundred clams than watching this team. The big question is Caesars or not at the card game?

  6. Heh, near the end of the 2nd spotted a fan sitting behind the Habs bench wearing a red t-shirt with white lettering that read"Geoff fire Bergevin he's a bum". I think he stood up just to make sure it was seen.

I read in our local paper that someone put a paper bag on the head of Jean Beliveau's statue. I understand the protest but that's too disrespectful. Why not tag Molson's new condo tower, seems he's more interested in real estate than his hockey team.

    1. Yep, I believe he put bags on all the statues. I think moeman posted it earlier.

  11. Congratulations to Team Canada - Spengler Cup winners for the third year in a row. 3-0 shutout over Switzerland. Lots of exhabs playing on both sides... and the Canadian goalie - Kevin Poulin - outstanding saves especially in the 3rd.

  12. Listening to some of the game last night on TSN690 and I remark upon the utter despondency of the commentary, where they are noticing how much they have been repeating themselves over the course of the past few months about the ways in which the Habs can't play as a team at the NHL level on most nights. The talent and leadership on the ice have been leaching away to the point they cannot compete. KidA, TFS, SSR, CHud, Dano, Dish and Druid are a good core, but they need a lot more. Everywhere you look, the GM and his owner are seen to be the weak links.

  13. With that, Happy New Year to all my FHFriends. May 2018 bring us some hope.

  14. What a shit show, since losing in the playoffs.

Here's to better things in 2018.

All the best of happiness, peace and love to all FHFers.

My son is having a dozen friend over for a board game marathon and I'm on the nut to make the following (as authentic as possible). Great movie BTW.

  15. Happy New Year everyone. 2017 for obvious reasons will go down as one of the worst peacetime years in history.

Good teams attack in waves, we retort with ripples. Ripples in still waters.

  16. Good night of cards, beers, caesars and tequila. From the lowlights that I saw, sure as hell better than watching our team play. I'm cofident that the exact worse thing that can happen will and that is no changes at the top, the team will win enough games to stay out of a playoff spot but give BBB hopes and he will make more dumb deadline moves and in the end we get another middle 1st round pick. Here's hoping I'm wrong.

Fortunately there's more to life than hockey. Like football.

    Go Pats! Go James Harrison!

Happy new year all. May it be a safe, happy and healthy one for all FHFers.

    Happy New Year FHFriends!

I have to disagree with Saint Paddy, I think this losing streak will continue for a while and Molson will have no choice but to pull the plug on his foxhole friend. As was mentioned above, the Habs can barely ice an NHL team. I would bet the collection of minor leaguers who just won the Spengler Cup would give Montreal a run for their money. Those guys played with a ton of heart which the Habs are sorely lacking these days. Who knew they would miss Radulov and Markov this much? For this alone bargainbin should be canned.

    1. I am afraid we may be in a new Pal Hal era. The owner is the one that needs to be fired.

You know how bad it is. McSplooge is looking sensible.

Geoff is a fanboy (like us) who had the privilege of being able to buy the team. He is not as bad as ballard but needs to realize that he needs to step away and let a competent hockey person take over. He has been hypnotized by the snake oil salesman. Somebody needs to break the spell. Oh, and for the next GM hiring, please keep Serge Savard away from the process. Maybe that will break the Quebecois monopoly on the position.

    3. I think they should hire the best person available and language be damned. Suffer the eventual immediate backlash and forge on. Fans seem to be on the verge of an uprising as it is now anyway. Unless of course, they're happy seeing bags on legends' heads and a fan on the road wearing 3 different T's behind CJ at the games. I hope I never see a jersey thrown on the ice.

  18. Happy New Year to you all. My wish for FHFers first and foremost is good health for you and your families. Love and be loved, treasure the things that truly matter. And hey, wealth an prosperity would be a great bonus.

  20. Our DGMB is jokingly available to whomever wishes to take him off our hands.

I just finished watching the Golden Showers/leaf game I recorded yesterday. I wanted to see what Vegas was all about and near as I can tell, Gerard Gallant has them play to win, not play the "play not to lose" style the Habs employ. Also, since they were supposed to not be any good, they are loose and just go have fun and play hockey. That seems to be he Habs biggest problem, they are wound so fucking tight they aren't having any fun. Since the season is already lost why not throw caution to the wind and just go play? Oh. Right. That's not the "right way to play".
