    Lehkonen – Plekanec – Gallagher
    Galchenyuk– Drouin – Deslauriers
De la Rose – Froese – L. Shaw
    (Carr)

    Alzner- Petry
    Benn – Jerabek
    Mete - Schlemko
    (Morrow)

If the Wolverine has been playing C all season for the Ducks, surely he can play C here??? Or was LB that good in his debut there the other day?

What I make of this is a singular lack of talent and losses piling up, which isn't a bad thing at this stage of the season.

And can I just say: please take a pass on JT and just do a proper build through drafting and some qualified coaches? Thank you.

  4. And TSN reports: "The New York Rangers announce that defenceman Kevin Shattenkirk has a meniscus tear that will require surgery. He will be out indefinitely."

Does that mean they may be shopping for a new BBQ?

    1. If you mean as in Weber, BBQ has a bigger cap hit and 4yrs older than Shattenkirk and no one knows when BBQ will be ready to play. Last I heard he's wearing a walking boot.

    2. Wow, sad news about Red Fisher. One of the truly great. R.I.P. Mr. Fisher and say hello to Le Gros Bill, The Rocket and all the great Habs.

      Delete
    3. Sad day. I just quoted him the other day too: "Show me the players." No journalist covered the Habs with as much thoroughness and integrity as that man. An inspiration to all of us in the Concordia Journalism Dept. especially.

  14. Farber said his wife didn't like Jersey and he told her he'd try to get a job in Montreal. So he wrote a letter to the Montreal Gazette and the Montreal Star and Red Fisher who was the editor of the Star replies 'we're on strike you idiot' He says Fisher doesn't remember that but he says when you get blown off by Red Fisher you certainly remember that.

  15. NOAR moe!
And RIP Mr Fisher. The GOAT of Habs writers by a mile.
So there is apparently a game tonight too? I haven't felt this disconnected from the team in 2 decades. Give it a go.,.but don't try too hard.

    ReplyDelete
  16. SFU couldn't hold a candle to this great legend of integrity but I like some of their tweeted memories. ie: I remember asking Red Fisher at the closing of the Montreal Forum what made it such a special place. “Nothing,” he said. “It’s just a building. What made it remarkable were the people in it.”

  17. So I turn my tv on and it happens to be on the SN channel and Tim an Sid are talking to the old crotch. They had just asked him what he thought about Clod's comment after the broon game when he was asked if he thought the team gave up on him. Crotch turns it into a story about hoe he was coach of the year 40 years ago but came back and beat Boston as coach of the Rickies and that felt great.
So moving on, Tim asks him "Who are you most concerned about moving forward, thr Oilers, Sens or Habs?"
His answer "I'm concerned about the leafs to tell you the truth because I'm a leaf fan. Bla blah blah...the only team I'm really concerned about is ah Tronna to tell you the truth. I don't think those other guys will make the playoffs..."

The only thing I can say about Don is at least he admits he's a leaf fan while all the other mediots try to make us believe (somewhat) that they are impartial.

  21. Man, 91 is a life well-lived. Always loved reading Red. He saw the best and the worst the CH offered. Despite his objective take he seemed attached to the team. There are few to no good sports writers left.

R.I.P. Red Fisher. I always enjoyed reading his stuff and I looked forward to his appearances on hnic's Hot Stove during the 2nd intermission many, many years ago. Red was close to all the Habs legends because back in the day the press traveled with the team, especially in the original 6 days when they traveled by train. Like Scott said, one of my favourite quotes of his was "Show me the players!" Man, if he was able to watch them lately, he must have been mortified by what he would have seen.

I'm watching the Sea Dogs get beat up first, then maybe I'll have myself a laugh watching the Keystones Kops play the Caps.

  23. Oh wow...i was watching the NBC caps feed and heard nothing about Red Fisher - RIP a true legend. There will never be another. And fuck cancer! Tell you sis to go get it and kick it's ass Moeman. And while we are at it...someone tell the refs that a tap on the hands is not a penalty. Credit to the Habs for killing it but that was beyond a doubt the weakest call I have seen since the last game the Habs played and they sent LB off for getting tripped. Other than that a pretty piss poor period of hockey. Are Patches and Drouin even dressed?

  26. TAO aka the problem child couldn't keep his mouth shut when the ref told him to and he just kept yapping at him even after he was warned. Left his team short handed and the Caps tie the game. Well, you're on their list now.
Speaking of weak calls, that too many men was called right after that.

  27. Watched on RDS and during the intermission GAGnon spoke about Red Fisher and said for the younger Francophone viewers who probably don't know him, he is like their Bertrand Raymond. OH FUCK OFF!

Said that the press galleries have one side for the writers and one side for the others and each side is named. The writers' gallery is named after Danny Gallivan and he said he would like to see it re-named to the Red Fisher/Bertand Raymond gallery. OH FUCK OFF.

The Captain looks pretty down these days even when he scores, judging from the photos I've seen lately. I think he knows he'll be on a contender in the near future.
