At least we have kept our sense of humour through these dark days...

@HF29 The Nutella Fella --- How does Tavares look? Worth $13mil per for 8 long ones?

  8. Watched the second period for some reason - actually - it was because it is snowing in the UK and no one knows what to do...we've had about 4-5 inches and we actually are being given a wind chill temperature on the news - which never happens - but holy fuck! -11c this morning...anyway - bck to hockey - the Habs actually looked pretty decent. At time dreadful - like the PP where they alloowed 3 separate breakways - but Anntii stopped them all. I'm liking this Sherbak kid too. Patches more or less invisible by Druid looked decent. KidA is the nuts! A sweet pass from behind the net to set Sherbak up for a goal. All good kids - except the Habs don't actually need any more points right now. Gonna fuck ourselves out of a good draft pick...but what if the players are saying to themselves..."OK guys - here's the plan - we win every single remaining game we have left in this season - do we make the playoffs?" You see, I don't believe that a professional understands the concept of "tanking"...losing sucks balls - they all want to win and if you are a Hab, you want to win every game. So can someone out there - someone who understands how it all works tell me this...if the Habs win all their remaining games this season, can they make the show?

    1. Habs would have 96 pts.
Last 4 years, the final wildcard spot was taken with 95,96,98,93
So potentially yes and I think 93 or 94 gets the final spot this year.
So there is still hope and I don't expect any professional athlete to give up, so you're right they will most likely end up lessening their odds at the top pick.

    3. There's also a chance Trump could slip on a banana peel, bump into Mike Pence and the two of them stumble onto spikes, getting impaled fatally. I'm not a betting man myself.

  10. K3X has it pretty right. We looked good in spots but also looked terrible for many parts of it. I didn't know Patches was on the ice. Druid looked good, about a half a season too late

Tavares was meh, not worth the money. That I saw. Of course, I was pretty drunk. Also, I never seemed to be in a rush to get back to my seats after intermissions

They are heading out on the road for a stretch ... that should kill any playoff thoughts. Besides, even if they won every single game form now on, the teams in front of them have to LOSE evrey game as well. Not gonna happen. They dug this hole way back in October starting the season 1-6 or something like that. Bargainbin's vaunted defence had more holes in it than swiss cheese. Plus Carey was not himself for whatever reason.

In my humble opinion, the Habs should stay away from Tavares unless they move either Weber or Price's contract. It's just pure economics. You can't have $30mil plus tied up in 3 players on a 23 man roster. Ask Chicago how that's working out for them these days. Nope, I'd prefer the Dollar Store GM do what he said when he got the gig ... build through the draft. It takes longer but you can control your salary cap expenditures better.
