  1. Running semi-ragged, until today. Late night Western games are tough to stay up for and even worse when most Habs seem to care less about winning.

Four day weekend with Family Day Monday.

Speaking of family, sympathies and thoughts to any/all Floridians affected by yet another senseless assault on innocent humanity. Its hard to figure out how our American neighbours get over this but to call out mental illness as a/the cause? STFU, because 'mental illness' is not causing similar sickening sights up here and elsewhere on this planet. Reasonable and strict limits on guns is the only way forward.

  2. About SI's swimsuit issue.

In my younger days I had a big paper route. 200 homes, 2Km walk and then back. A 'Short Stop' mini mart at each end of the route. Magazine, erm, racks weren't covered up. Mid-winter warmed up when the famous February SI issue hit the shelf. My appreciation for the female form is in large part thanks to SI, which I subscribed to until the late 90s.

Those store visits were obviously regular and a lot of tip money was spent on MAD magazines, Treat from Tahiti, Big Turks, Eat Mores and Hickory Sticks, not to mention 1000s of hockey cards. That was a lot of gum! (which my siblings liked more than me).

    1. I never cared for the hard pink, flour dusted bubble gum in the hockey cards - always gave it away. Mind you when purchasing said cards at my Grandmother's country store, I would stock up on Bazook Joe. A gum and a comic for 2¢. Or 3 for 5. Can't beat that deal.

  3. I was also a paperboy once, moeman. In the 80's, I recall The Gazette home delivery used to cost my Beaconsfield customers $1.75 CDN each and every week, and off I would go to collect door to door in the evenings, putting hole-punches in their subscriber cards to prove they paid. What a lark! I quit before the Sunday edition came out, and wondered how they put up with that at the time. I used to be expert at finding the page count and figuring out whether my shoulder sack would suffice for my measely 30-40 customers. That route kept me in X-Men, Alpha Flight, New Mutants and Daredevil comics for years.

    1. I started with one route, then, over time, added three. Some of the other carriers just gave up and I contacted the manager to pick up their slack. One of them threw away the flyers we added to the weekend paper. Getting people to pay was fun. Some tipped big, some zilch BUT the best part was I went 'collecting' early Saturday mornings and being greeted at the door by a pretty woman in her, um, PJs, was fun.

  5. So here's a huge shocker...that POS Wynsynki (or however it is spelled) has written a feature ranking the NHL GM's...no points for guessing who he ranks as No. 1 and as No. 31 (mind you I agree with his 31)- Not going to link to it because it came up on my twitter feed and because he is scum and needs as little exposure as possible

  6. Great SF, SI made it easy. I second the CT comments she is right up there with Raquel.

This just in, PatCHes mother has tweeted she doesnt want him either. Its looking like bag o pucks is what we are going to get. If he were not the Capitien maybe we could keep him, but the whole thing is a train wreck now that must be stopped. I still cant believe we could not get a first and prospect.

Canada has made an official complaint to the people who are Russian who decide who curls. We own the hot curler.

Speaking of things beyond belief, trolling on facebook is now treason. Its the tower of babel live.
