  2. If you haven't had the opportunity, read Brian Wilde 's latest Call of the Wilde. It is free and is the best review of the mess that is the Habs right now I have read. https://recrutes.ca/mcleans-pub-call-of-the-wilde-a-sotu-moment/

HAH! As soon as I saw that first photoshopped pic I said" "April Fool!!"

Brendan Kelly had an interesting take on the Donald Beauchamp retirement.

Great interviews tonight with two of the best defencemen ever who played for Montreal, Chris Chelios and Serge Savard -- who ironically was the GM who traded Chelly for Denis Savard. Chris would probably still be the better option today over half of bergy's overrated pylons.

  10. Romansuk doesn't know the difference between Benn and Petry's beards. Closeup of Dish shaking his head after his terrible play resulting in a goal and Romansuk says. "the look on Benny's face sys it all..." Stupid douche.

  12. Just watched a replay of the end of that 5 on 3 penalty. KidA gets slaughtered at the end of it but, because it is him and because it was already a powerplay nothing is called . The NHL refs are so fucking inconsistent ...

    1. Hey I was shocked they gave nj a penalty to make it 5 on 3 when he was crosschecked up high near the neck!

I know they are playing (mostly) an AHL team lately but how about this little gem ... Montreal has lost fifty-one (51) games this year. That's Kansas City Scouts bad.

You're OK with that eh Geoff? Really?

    1. I believe they are one regulation loss away from matching that record of ineptitude set in 2000-01. That year the picked 7th overall, grabbing future captain (so was the thinking pre-Lucic) Mike Komisarek.

I'm still hoping for Tkachuk this year but it's really moot if there isn't a proper development channel in place.

I find Jack Todd changes his mind like the tide coming and going in the Bay of Fundy. However, I have to agree with today's column about how the Habs have become such a staid and conservative organization with the cone of silence permanently in place. The entire brain trust is old school thinking and they have no one, repeat no one, who coaches or encourages offence. If they ever want to be relevant again the Habs need to finally enter the 21st century. They had a chance to do that if gmgq had hung onto PK and Sergachev instead of acquiring more immobile, big pylons and another left winger. Trying to appease the language police doesn't help either. Unless Geoff Molson wakes up someday in the next week or two and realizes this, the Canadiens are doomed to failure for the foreseeable future.

    3. I cant realy catch the breakout on the TV, but I read this is our achilles heel. We are doing the old playing catch with D men which gives the other team time to get in a defensive shell. The good teams go for the stretch pass almost every time. Second if you watch Pitsburg and especially the Preds, they just keep cyling the puck back to the d for bombs and deflections.

  14. Well said the M. I have been watching some Pens games and caps games and seen some of the Habs castaways thriving in an offensive role. Very sad state thatbi hopes improves soon...but I am not hopeful. ..we have become the leaf...right before our eyes...

The leaf under Pat Quinn and then Burke were very set in their ways but differently. Shanahan has really turned that organization around with the help of some fresh thinking and Mark Hunter's scouting skills. Leapin' Lou is old school but it's a balance.

  15. Sedins announce retirement. Another Bergy plan for a number one center falls apart. So we are left with JT, the easter bunny and actually drafting and developing one.
