From previous thread, last night's game was repeated this afternoon and the career playoff stats with the Preds as follows:

    BBQ 59 GP, 28 PTS, 0.47 Av. pts/game, -9

    PFK 32 GP, 20 PTS, 0.63 Av. pts/game, +5

How the heck did the Habs miss out on Patrice Bergeron? The Q scouts must have been drunk at his games. PB would have solved the center ice problems for the past 13 years.

And how the fuck has Brad Marchand not had the tongue ripped out of his fucking head already.

  5. Happy Cinqo de Mayo. Hitting the links for the first time this morning, with my Mexican friend as it happens. OK he's actually from El Salvador but we joke politically incorrectly that everything south of Texas is all the same, hence he's Mexican. Wish I had a sombrero to wear to top it off.

  6. Lead picture is pure Mexico.

Stop making sense. I know why we got Alzimer, its because we wanted Carlson from Wash, consider it done. Add JT and plan the parade.

Its clear and more clear that PFK is a level above BBQ in the playoffs. Lego is better than SSR. Anyone is better than Alzimer and Wrong Benn. Houston we have a GM problem.

I have been talked back to reality take the best player, after all JT solves the center problem.

LeBron James is showing the arrogant toronto media their fucking basketball team isn't as good as they think it is. Suck it losers. We the CHoke.

John Tavares is not coming to Montreal. Paul Stastny might.

  9. The ref has put his whistle away in Nashville. Good game so far...

  10. Great win by the Peg last night. The slashville D looked like ours. Severe regression caused by speed and mass. PFK has been great, still too many giveaways but most of the unnecessary flash is gone. He may be the best D man playing as getting a shot on goal. In this series Big Fucking Man is the star and will win the Hart.

Rangor Lothbrooke has not scored, but has played well. Laine is starting to find the range, the Peg is not yet firing on all cylinders. Kyle Turris, fuck him, we do not need this kind of number 2 we do it daily already. I hope we sit pat, tank another year. Right now we have one number 2 Druid and 3 threes. gCHuck, KidA, Leko, CHud and LHN should provide enough scoring. Flipper is the wildcard, however do not expect him to be a force in the regular season let alone the playoff. Personally I would let him take another year of JR.

My friend got a new Kodi box. If you have not moved to android 5.1 or above your not doing Kodi right.

When you are No. 28 you cannot compete. As currently constructed, the Habs would struggle against some AHL teams. Except Laval of course. When you are devoid of center ice talent and have pylons on the back end expect the worse. Watch the bargainbin dumpster diver make some panic trades and dig the hole a little deeper.

Some good news ... the despicable, disgusting piece of shit ratface douchebag has been taken out of the picture. Thanks Tampa Bay. Now you can fuck off too.

  12. I watched both games last night and both tonight.. .looks like VGK is moving into the next round ..what strikes me most after doing so is how BIG both team are. They only big and they hit! Habs would be crushed. And another thing...Drouin couldn't get a game in Tampa now - given the players they have. Never liked him from when he pitched is pussy fit in Tampa - now we are a stuck with his weak ass small man syndrome bullshit - thanks bbb!

  13. And another thing they do out west...they use the stick really effectively. Loads of cycling and great sticks...they seem longer...

  14. Hoping for a Peg vs Wash final. Young Gun and the big Gun in a fight to the end.

I would watch that Final. I have this funny feeling Vegas is a team of destiny ... and will win it all. It will be unprecedented in league history. Gerard Gallant could have a Memorial Cup and a Stanley Cup on his CV. I wonder how the idiot running Florida feels now after unceremoniously dumping Gerard to the curb in Carolina with cab fare? HA!

  16. I am watching the Pens Caps game and the "Kesselltracker" must be permanently stuck on "good God I suck balls" ...he is so poor. Lego looks pretty good - most lyrics showing hustle...and DSP is makings good use of limited ice time

  17. Ref has pocketed his whistle..

  18. Habs could use a big centre like that Eller guy in Wasington. Has had a tremendous playoff against opposing teams'top lines.

  19. BBB got two picks for Lego that were promptly transformed into SSR. I'm thinking SSR has taken too much abuse at this point to make that trade look good. Which is a shame because SSR is a warrior in his own right.

    1. The reality of things is that Lego, much like PFK, was never going to make it in Montreal. He was labelled by Therrien and Bergevin and not being "their type of player" and would eventually have to go. Up and down the lines he went, exposing his flaws in a much more public way than happens in Washington, where he plays 3rd or 4th line minutes, kills penalties and contributes. I am happy for him but resigned to the fact that this draft "the most important draft in BBB's career with the Habs" is doomed to failure from the start. No matter who they pick (and it will be a Dman), he will play out of position and with a load of teammates learning to play a new game (in wrong positions). Sorry for the negativity but after watching 3 nights of back to back to back to back games I have seen the reality of the plight facing the Habs. Boys vs. Men Big Men! With amazing stick skills...Time for a nap!

Good Morning FHFriends. As much as I would like to see PFK win it all so he could rub it in bergevin's face, I will be rooting for the Winnipeg Jets tomorrow night, for the Canadian content and to rub that in buttman's face. I think Winnipeg/Vegas would hold the country's interest for sure.

    2. I will be going for the Peg, but if the slash win, a cup for PFK would be sweet.

Anybody else go see Infinity War? Typical Marvel goofiness/coolness but enjoyable. I liked the back and forth between Stark and Strange, two delightful arrogant pricks! I always thought Thanos was one of the best Marvel villains ever created (by Jim Starlin not Stan Lee) and the producers really made him believable in the film.

    1. nope. I really liked Dr Strange and a few of the Thor movies, but other than that not worth a ticket.

  23. Was at a conference today and they raffled off 2 tickets plus accommodations (no airfare) to a Habs game of ones choice next season. Much like our Habs I did not win. But the guy that won was also a Habs fan with a 12 year old son who is also a fan. Hope they get to see something resembling respectibility at the very least.

For my hockey pool and PK, go Nashville!
For Canada and a big Fuck You Bettman, go Jets!

  24. nice Peg win, better team. PFK was a stud. Slashville now in the suck. Rennie is toast, Turis is a bust. I expect Peg in five.

    1. It's on Rinne. Money goalies are still sumpin useful, just like Rask. This is why TFS is da bomb. just needs a reson to be that way (hint to BBB: show him the skaters)

    2. Roy used to suck sometimes too, you know. People forget. There must be a steadfast belief in thine stud goalie's fellow teammates. I saw that tonight with this Hellebuyck fellow.

  25. Now that I have watched them play, fuck my above predictions. Nothing will stop this Jets juggernaut. They will steamroll to the Cup from here. Massive talent. Balls that shall clank with authority over all Golden Knightliness, and possibly even extinguish the Bolts. And our Habs exist in some lower dimension, I am sorry to say.

  26. FULL DISCLOSIER TIME: my wife is an RN at the MUHC where PFK's atrium is a place of comfort to families and siblings of the kids in the Montreal Children's wing. She is ensconced. My sister is the publisher of PFK's dad's autobiography. Any win for PFK is one that hits home for me. If he were able to bring the Cup here for the kids it would probably boost their chances for recovery in ways we could never measure. That is the whole fucking point to his whole endeavour in this charitable whatever it is. So I am a little sad tonight for that. But go Jets. They are an amazing team.

  27. Well that is my bracket all fucked to hell...honestly can't see anyone stopping the VGK. Jets will give me a game but I see the desert storm in 6. Bolts in 6 as well...but then again - what do I know

    1. You know nothing Jon Snow. Jets in five over the Golden Showers. Then in 6 against OVIE.

  28. I'm with Steve. I see a Jets-Caps final. Winner is a toss-up. I wouldn't mind seeing Ovi win one - the sheer joy on his face after beating Crosby reminded me of Radulov with the Habs before he was unceremoniously told to fuck off and go help some other team.

But in reality I'm cool with any 3 of the 4 teams winning that remain.

    ReplyDelete
  29. the Maritimer12:08 PM

I think the 'Peg takes down Gerard's speedy Knights in 6 and it's a toss-up between Ovie's Caps and Kucherov's Dolts. I hope Ovie wins.

@Scott in Montreal ... I do indeed remember Saint Patrick laying a few eggs back in the day. More than one shot from center ice found it's way into the net but that was rare. He should have won three Cups with Montreal but Mike Vernon out-goaled him in '89. He seemed to have trouble with the Bruins in the early '90's until the outstanding run in 1993.

    ReplyDelete
  30. I should say for the record I would love the Jets to win... but after watching the last two games of the Vegas series I don't see how they will get past VGK. Both teams are pretty evenly matched but hot goalies win Stanley Cups and MAF is on a fucking mission...then again - like Rinne, he can have his off games. If he does, then the Jets can get it done. If not, ...

  31. HAHAHA! The leafs promote their vunderkid Kyle Dumbass to GM.

Molson should fire BBB today and hire ex-Hab Mark Hunter.

  32. Just hire Mark Hunter as (new title time) Senior GM in charge of Managing/Smacking Around Lower Down the Chain President and GM

    1. to soon to say but it looks like Mark Hunter should change his name to Smurf Hunter. Nylander, and Shaggy disappeared and even though the COTU sang his praises, Marnier was also pretty much adrift.

  36. the Maritimer7:13 PM

Lego and DSP played really good support roles last night. They were put in roles that didn't suit them in Montreal and thus were deemed not good enough to play for the Habs. Imagine that.

One good thing about watching the playoffs this year, I now have an idea what a good team looks like. Montreal doesn't even remotely resemble one.

  37. Glad to see I have brought my own special kind of luck to VGK...

Lego -- 1 goal 2 assists and the winner I believe. I'm happy for this player. Two things about Lego -- he nearly got killed by that fucking asshole Gryba with a dirty blindside hit and empty always favouring his little lapdog DD -- otherwise I thought he was going to be that big center Montreal always needed. He should have been the #2 at the very least. Oh well, Lego has gone elsewhere to find success. Good Luck to he and the Great 8.

  41. I have been thinking about this and what we are seeing with he likes of Lego and DSP will be BBB's legacy. It will be written that he had the right players but used them all in the wrong positions. And it will continue when he trades away GCHuyk and insists on keeping Drouin at Centre. Neither would have won a cup for us but used properly and with proper lineages it could have been so different. Too painful to reflect on all the mistakes...suffice to say there were a lot of them.
