Aaaaand manohman, I loved the English Beat (and the offshoots: General Public, FYC too, for that matter) in my two-tone youth. Thank you for sharing!

Anyone who has seen Elvis Costello play will know he puts a huge amount of energy into his live shows, so it's understandable that he would cancel a few gigs to focus on recovering from cancer surgery. He's one of my musical heroes and I wish him well.

You can be sure all the rich old fucks in their 90's are doing it. They still die cause they are 90 years old. For Elvis it should be another 30 years of red shoes.

Bobcat and his gang of Toronto SFUckers were discussing the Habs and the other Canadian teams tonight for a bit. They pretty much agreed the Habs are fucked and the Weber injury pretty much seals it.

I wish Molson and bergevin would have the balls to admit the rebuild is on, take a page from Shana-sham and bab'scock and tell us up front it's going to hurt for a while. It might actually build some good will with the fans.

The Montreal media are trying to present hope to fans by putting a positive spin on all these new coaching hires and I can't blame them. The problem is they don't play the games so we shall see if the players can match up to the rest of the league. On paper, it doesn't look good. Remember, julien and bergevin are still at the head of this trainwreck.

As Red Fisher used to say: "Show me the players!"

“We weren’t ready to announce that,” Molson said. “We really weren’t. Then finally we were. That is transparent as far as I’m concerned. I didn’t know the potential date of his return until 48 hours (before the surgery was revealed)...

Am I missing something? How could Molson know 48 hours BEFORE the surgery if they only knew when they went in for a scope and only saw the extent of the damage then? We were told BBQ only knew when he woke up after the operation.

Alas, if they had a competent GM, fans wouldn't have to pin their hopes on someone he'd probably trade away or put a round peg in a square hole. Wash and repeat. Maybe we'll be lucky enough to get Hughes and BBB goes before then. Maybe he'll trade him for a 4-5 Dman, I just don't trust him to manage any of it.

Lotta hate out there for bergevin. Can't say I blame people. He is incompetent and although I don't agree with Brendan Kelly all the time, he made an interesting point in his latest article. bergevin has trashed his 5 best players in negotiations. PK, gCHuk, CHe, Vodkov and now his captain. Other than Melnyk who the fuck does that? I guess a tear down and rebuild has been in the offing all along.

I hope and pray they don't throw the new kid KO to the wolves right off the bat. No sense ruining him like they did gCHuk playing him as an 18 year old.

  32. So 3 mil a year for Dano sounds decent enough...but he isn't more than a 3rd line C to start with. Elevating his status to No. 1 C or even No. 2 is doing him more damage than needed. He'll play too many minutes against better players and it will wreck his confidence...but why would they do anything different.

When I said Danault was the #1 center by default I had my tongue planted firmly in my cheek. I'm not wrong though. Who is the #1 center? Plekanec? Kotkaniemi? Poehling? Not a lot of options is there? OK, Drouin. But he's a left winger, a square peg being shoved into a round hole by the two stubborn chumps who are in charge.
