  2. Still no Scherbak. Another official 1st round bust I guess.

    Lines for Monday:
    Tatar - Danault - Gallagher
    Drouin - Domi - Hudon
    Lehkonen - Kotkaniemi - Armia
    Deslauriers - Peca - Shaw

    Benn - Petry
    Reilly - Juulsen
    Ouellet - Mete
    Alzner

Deslauriers adds nothing to this particular team.

As far as Sherbak goes, I don't believe he is a bust at all. He's never been give a chance to fail ... unlike teacher's pet Drouin the Turnover Machine who gives the opposition team an extra player every time he is on the ice. Nope, after the Russian purge by Dollar Store bergy and clod, his days as a Hab were numbered. Dollar Store will get some crumbs for him.

I hate Monday hockey too, I'll take a pass on this game, hope you guys enjoy...

  4. I made a long detailed professional comment and it went away like Nortel stock.

Mostly LHN has to be more like Domimax or play in the KHL.

  5. Been watching on and off between football. Really started picking up the speed game in the 2nd from what i can tell from limited viewing.

Also watched the final Rick Grimes episode of TWD. Spoiler.......................................

he ain't dead and AMC hopes to bank on his popularity and a bit of renewed popularity of the show this year after a few slow seasons and will air a number of TWD original films with Rick Grimes (and others) in an expanded twd universe. Sounds like there will also be other series or mini series from the past(pre zombies?) too.I still enjoy watching the series...this season being by far the best in a number of years, maybe since the first couple of seasons. Anyway this is clearly AMC's money maker. Be interesting when Disney inevitably buys them out.

    1. I agree with TWD this season. Fuck those survivors, lets make the Zombie Apocalypse great again.
Can no one come up with a plan to handle the Zombie Hordes?

  6. Tuned in for the last 10 minutes, just after they tied it up. Here we are in game 15 or so and they are still able to keep the legs going to the buzzer. Earned at least a loser point needing to kill a brutal late 3rd too many men penalty in OT...starting well.

    1. GI Finn was the only one to TAKE A SHOT. Heard the TSN690 team scratching their heads at all these guys trying to deke on crappy ice and losing control of the puck. Imein is a shut-down type, meanwhile. Perfect from the start of the second period to the end. That's clutCH. Hope it motivates TFS to match the clutCH tonight.

We went and saw Bohemian Rhapsody last night. Pretty interesting biopic of the late Freddy Mercury. He was a ... complicated man to say the least. Now I've got all these Queen songs stuck in my head...

    1. Got to get my Frau to agree, but for the first time in at least a year, I am going to Overlord this weekend. Zombies, War, Nazies all of my favorite movie genre in one big fat JJ Abrams produced package.

I always found it funny that Queen was proud of not using syth. The movie of them in Montreal is the best concert movie ever IHMO.

    2. Saw Mr. Mike Myers on the Late Show on Hallowe'en talking about the circle of life and getting to do the cameo as an Epic Records exec giving the band a hard time about wanting to release that song. Turns out if Myers hadn't fought for it, the scene in Wayne's World would've been set to GNR's Welcome to the Jungle.

      NOT!

Freddie's on stage antics reminded me of Jagger, who I think he patterned himself after. I have Queen LP's, I just can't remember which ones. The battle for the release of Bohemian Rhapsody also reminded me of the Eagles documentary where they would not reduce the length of Hotel California. "Take it or leave it" was Frey's and Henley's answer to the record exec.

  11. Completely overlooked a Monday night game. Thought this week was Tues/Thurs in NY - my bad. I am with the masses who say - Fiver isn't worth 2 quid and Armia shouldnt be on the PP - even though he scored a beauty in the SO. According to some - Habs are on pace for 105 points...but we should not get to carried away yet.

    Go you Fucking Habs Go!

  12. KidKo was out on the ice in a tie game with a minute or so to go, and did the smart thing and the right thing like a guy who is not going to ever let the coach find an excuse to keep him on the bench late in a crucial game. The guy isn't 18 and a half yet. That made me happy right there.

Then they went and got two points! Actually starting to really dig this team. GYFHG!

    ReplyDelete

    1. Kidko is some kind of savant, I am not going Gretzkey just yet. I dont think he skates as well as Gretz, and the game has changed so much, but he is that kind of player.

    2. I have been cautiously thinking that I saw that too. Not in the same league talentwise, but similarly hockey-smart; maybe more like a Carbo-Gretz hybrid.

  13. Quenneville (and assistants Kevin Dineen and Ulf Samuelsson) both canned in Chicago today. 1. Of all the good news stories of this year so far, he is the winner. We still need someone anyone who can do a onetimer on the PP. How hard can it be?

      Delete
    2. Ottoman Empire should be that man, but I think the opposition is playing him too tight without any cannon on the blueline. By January, I want to see KidKo out there being Vodkovian in the distribution biz, with BBQ ready to blast it when teed-up. Domi or KidA in front, with Druid or Leko to compliment. But until then it'll be pop-gun most nights.

      Delete
  15. And the BBQ is a smoker, turns out. Slow-cooking captain is on the road with his team even while a month away from his return from injury. That is leadership. You know what else is leadership? BBQ was quiet and not about to undermine his captain the past two years, even when that captain was lacking in leadership, because the BBQ understands team cohesion falls apart if the captain is not respected, or at least seen to be.

These, my FHFriends, are the ingredients of a team that might - if all goes well - gel into a serious team in the next few years.

That said, GYFHG! I think the fourth line is due tonight.

  16. My take on the Sens Uber video. If I am the uber driver, fuck yes I am making money off that. I drive a car for Amway. The coach will be fired because he is just a pylon. As a great man said " cracks are where the light comes in" Yes it was Cohen and in this case as in every case where chum deals go bad, he was right.

Uber all yeist in desim Ziet. The coaching CHange has been the biggest reason the team has Changed.

Minimax reminds me of Squid, who was also proud to wear the CH. It's funny to see cementhead Dad switch allegiances, Fuck You SFU!

I want to get on board but I am not sold yet. There are still too many holes on this team even when Weber returns. I don't like the defence and don't believe they can hold it together for a season. The only way the forwards can succeed is if buttman and the ORA allow smaller players to play their game. If clutching, grabbing and 'picks' are allowed to creep back in, the Habs are fucked. Also, I think Carey Price will remain very average for the rest of his career. Maybe one of the youngsters in the system will rise out of nowhere like Dryden to steal a Cup, otherwise mediocrity will rule for a few more years.

This is all my humble opinion of course and may be just the ramblings of a cynical, old, soon to be senior citizen.

    1. The next FHFun thing for the SFU to realize is the Habs prospect pool is going to be much deeper than their leaf.

  31. Habs proving a balanced attack that can find themselves on either end of a 3-1 comeback.

    ReplyDelete
  32. SO the game last night highlighted a couple of challenges the Habs will face no matter how fast they skate...They have a plethora of middle of the road 2nd-4th liners who are playing very well but, when pushed, become exposed for being just that - 2nd - 4th liners. Dish is not a 30 min a game D man. He plays well when he plays 18-22 minutes a game. Any more and he tires and mistakes get made. Same goes for Benn - although he is better at 15-8 mins a game. Shaw is a 10 min. a game 4th liner and Fiver doesn't even deserve a place at the moment. Hudon is a 4th liner (10 min. max) Druid is a 3rd liner at best. And when the F are they going to give up with Armia on the PP? This has the smell of the Mexicant (minus the big payday) all over it. Didn't Patches play about 2.5 years on the PP without getting a goal? (slight exaggeration possibly but you get the idea...) So there is still a lot of work to be done...and I haven't even mentioned that TFS is only just a .900 goalie - but in tandem with Anti I think we'll be ok in net...So some work to do but not nearly as hopeless as I envisioned it would be back in September. Go you Fucking Habs Go!

You see the same things I do. The defence is not so good, although Juulsen and Mete are bright lights who will get better over time. Just to point out, it was DDD that eMTee kept rolling out on the PP for 2.5 years with no success. Well, he cleaned the ice with the seat of his pants a lot so there is that.

    1. Agree - although I did not see it the goals that killed them came in the 3rd - result of mistakes by tired players - TFS was to blame for the 4th goal but an alert D would have cleared any defenders...oh well...lets see what the weekend beings.. Apart from a homecoming for Patches.

  34. Looked it up in the French-English dictionary and sure enough Drouin translates to 'turnover machine'. I think his problem is he still thinks he's playing in junior and can pull off the same shit he did back in those days. He's very wrong. It's great that Ryan McDonagh is with the Bolts now so that we can think of the Gomez deal in the same vein as the Drouin/CHevy deal without having to burn negative energy on separate thoughts.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. the Maritimer3:20 PM

Yep, the junior hockey analogy is spot on. I don't understand why jabba won't bench his sorry ass for a while, but I suspect it's orders from higher up. Brian Wilde sez we have to accept his mistakes ... fuck that, he's caused a ton of unnecessary goals so far, some translating directly to losses, especially in OT. Jeff Petry was ready to choke the selfish little prick last night and Mike Johnson didn't need to film it like the Uber guy.

There was hope where once there was none...so as Steve said above - at least the guys know they can't depend on Pricer to save their asses any more.

  76. I am confident TFS will find his game again. Just like I am confident someday that six pack hidden behind my beer belly will reappear.

What if we had traded him? Well lets look at Patches, 12 games 2pt 2 goals -2, if he was still here we would be losing our stuff. gCHuck is still good 7 games 6 points. Who would we have got for TFS? Right now any goalie we have on the farm would be playing better than him. We have seen other star goalies ebb and flow, and usually its not pointing to a cup winner. Its been two years of TFS lost, I say trade him to St Louis for a stud prospect center and dman plus a first.

I'm going to defend Price. He has an average to not-so-good D playing in front of him. He gets hung out to dry more often than not. Sure, he gives up a stinker on occasion, but what goalie doesn't? He isn't the TFS anymore, if he ever was. He is an overpaid average goalie who is not going any where unless he decides it.

Putting things in perspective, Tuuka Rask has lost his starting job to Halak of all people. Jake Allen in St. Louis is struggling. Lots of misery to go around.

I wasn't expecting anything from the Habs this year. Or next. They were playing over their heads and it may have caught up to them. I'm going to pick and chose which games I watch and enjoy the likes of Domi, Tatar and Koho. The rest I'm not going to stress over.

    3. I had dreams, dreams and TFS has been a nightmare. I agree he is not terrible, and Rask just had some kind of meltdown. I think the shooters are better than ever, and the equipment scaled back. Still those goals from the bad angle of the circle got to be stopped every time.

  77. TFS shats the bed and SuperPlexxe gets bought out? So long and thanks for all the turtlenecks. I am not advocating retirement of his sweater, but there should be some sort of in between for players like him.

  78. Well so long TurtlePleXXXe. Pleky's days in Montreal (and possibly the NHL) are over as he's placed on unconditional waivers. Got that 1000th game in at least. One of the good guys. Au revoir.

An excellent supporting player and a good pro. All the best PleXXXe, I hope you get to continue your career in your home country.

Thanks for your service. You wore the CH proudly. Ratface will happy for the news.

As for Bergevin, re-signing him was just a PR move to appease the fans after the Vodkov fiasco. I don't know why he couldn't just let him finish his contract. I guess he figured enough time passed for fans to buy it. PleXXXe's participation in the presser shows who the classy one is..

  83. Saw if vid of BBQ today rocking the Movember stache and a camo Habs cap. Looks straight of of Trump nation. Looks like he should definitely have a crossbow or an M6 (see i don't know guns, but a big fucking gun) strapped to has back.

  84. I don't get the PleXXX handling. He is not out of this league yet and there is no reason for this. Loved what he brought and sorry to see he's been put out to pasture so soon. BBB must have a need for that cap space I reckon. --SiM on mobile

    1. I think it was more about roster size. He is taking up a valuable piece of real estate and his value was in constant decline. SuperPlexxxe was the perfect team player, I just wish he would explain why he always shot at the crest.
