Beauty post moeman. State funeral announced for May 3 in Montreal, with two days of visitTion May 1 and 2.
ReplyDeleteAs for last night, had a family thing and was too busy driving us home to comment, but I heard a good chunk on TSN690. Dan Robertson is so smooth. Harris and 7evans, Nature and Whiskey, Shiny Happy Pitlick were standouts. Very depressing how KidA's power and influence seems to be inversely proportional to his salary, and what means for the future.
Many great photos of the great #10. Even one of some schmuck getting a hockey card signed.
ReplyDeleteI too taped the pre-game show last night on the off chance the leaf channel would actually pay a half decent tribute to Guy. Wow, was I impressed with what the hnit pulled off. It was very impressive, the history, the high lights and the interview with Dick Irvin that even the obtuse ron mclame couldn't fuck up. Very well done.
And now, Guy gets a well deserved state funeral, cementing his stature in the province of Quebec with Maurice Richard and Jean Beliveau.
It's a struggle to watch the games, only three left and then the Habs fate rests on the dropping of some random lottery balls. I hope the fates are kind to Les Glorieux, maybe Guy can have a hand in it.
And yes, thanks to moe for a great tribute thread.
DeleteHere we go.
ReplyDeleteGreat interview with Patrice Bergeron just now on RDS.
ReplyDeleteVery classy move, no ads on the boards.
ReplyDeletePretty sure Molson will still have to give bettman his pound of flesh, for the Yotes existence.
Nice.
DeleteI miss Bob Gainey. The man is genial.
ReplyDeleteThe French press didn't have much use for Bob. I remember one guy said Bob spoke French 'white', whatever that means.
DeleteHe was an advisor when they were hiring Hughes, I'd like to see him stick around.
Bob was just on RDS, his French is better than most of the franco media.
DeleteNever a false note as GM.
DeleteI watched it, his French is very deliberate but he communicates it well.
DeleteNice ones all around moe.
ReplyDeleteThe pre-game is going to be beautiful and difficult. Still hitting me pretty hard.
It will be emotional. That’s a good thing.
DeleteBonus, it’ll keep your mind off of that hip brother.
Good thing I'm not there...I couldn't stand that long!
DeleteSpectacular montage.
ReplyDeleteLove how this keeps going
DeleteSpectacular crowd.
ReplyDeleteWow, tears from the Roadrunner, yeah, this one really hurts.
ReplyDeleteI really hope the team can win this game tonight for Guy.
ReplyDeleteAnybody else with a lump in their throat? Or should I take a COVID test?
ReplyDeleteHeart warming.
DeleteThis is so great.
ReplyDeleteI wish he could have gotten the moment of silence.
ReplyDeleteCoughman strikes again.
ReplyDeleteHe is terrible.
DeleteRef still fucked that up. No way that's a penalty or penalty shot.
DeleteBut I agree. Hoff is off.
They are a beaten bunch, like me they are looking forward to golf season.
ReplyDeleteRefs have zero integrity.
ReplyDeletePoHo!
ReplyDeletePlease somebody punch Ratface in his ugly mug. That's all I want.fr this game.
ReplyDeleteRefs have zero integrity.
ReplyDeleteWorst ones get assigned Habs games all year.

ReplyDeleteI was just saying: Habs should try taking a shot on net occasionally.
ReplyDeleteI saw the tribute to Guy, I hoped they could pull this on off for him but highly unlikely. Doubtful I will stick around for the 3rd, so you guys carry on and I hope CC can pot one at least.
ReplyDeleteBTW congrats to Getzlaf on a fantastic career. One of those "what if" players from the 2003 draft where the Habs took (O)(O) at #10 overall.
ReplyDeleteHoping this game gets totally out of control.
ReplyDeleteWhat fun a comeback would be.
Delete4-2
DeleteOk, Hoff the Schneid!
ReplyDeleteAyoye !
DeleteNature Boy! 4-3
ReplyDelete4-3
ReplyDeleteNature! Big one
ReplyDeleteHabs vs. dirty broons and dirty refs, still a game.
ReplyDeleteHabs are one stupid penalty shot goal from a tie game.
ReplyDeleteSeriously!
DeleteWhat a time for the refs to blow a too-many-men call on Boston.
ReplyDeleteSeriously!
DeleteTainted.
ReplyDeleteNice team gesture at the end.
ReplyDeleteVery much so.
DeleteThe lowest wild card team in the Eastern conference has 100 points with a couple games to go. Our Habs have 51 and probably won't get any more against two top teams. That pretty much tells you how long the road ahead is. One of those teams the Habs will play are the Rangers, who were (mostly) reconstructed by current VP of hockey operations Jeff Gorton. Said Rangers picked second and first overall in two consecutive drafts and signed one high end UFA. So, we know the path going forward. Superman has to divest himself of some bad contracts going forward. Habs fans will have lots to look forward to in the off season.
ReplyDeleteI said 'forward' way too many times in that comment. Senior moment while typing.
DeleteYou are subliminally letting us know we are in need of greater forward depth. Like Wright and Bedard. For example.
Deletelike so many but even better, no way to replace the effect of Guy, ever and forever.
ReplyDeleteYotes win. If I'm not mistaken, the Habs now need three points in their last two games to possibly not finish in last place. They will make history as the first NHL team ever to finish the season with 31 teams higher in the standings. Yeah.
ReplyDeleteAm I dreaming or do the Habs get to finish the season without having to make a trip to tranna! Thank fuck for that. It must be unbearable. Mind you I have to make another trip back there week after next. Really hoping their season is coming to an end by then.
