  1. I just tested negative after a weekend of flu like symptoms.

A friend who is a family physician says I likely had it since mid-week but luckily I (still) wore a mask all week.

SiM, I didn't mix booze with my Tylenols !

    1. Smart man! I think it only prolonged my misery when I had it back in April 2020.

Glad to hear you're -ive. Pace yourself now.

  2. Sid looks great in that jersey. What a sham...er shame that the Pens 'won' that lottery.

Sid saved that franchise. Don't the Red Sox own them now?

  4. So SN is pedalling their new "Monday Night Hockey" and have boring, nervous American damn Keith Yandle join a couple of Moe's favourites in Amber and Campbell. Seems like it would have been the perfect spot for PK but Anson Carter is already on the panel, so...anyway I actually have liked what I saw of Carter on the American broadcasts he's been on. Let's see how long he can keep from becoming just another leaf Schill.

  5. Good luck to Jake that Snake and the new baby. The Python will tend the crease in your absence...and a goal against.

    1. Yep, not that the SFU notices. Still pleasantly distracted, even better when one's tests prove negative. Saw the hilites. Nice comeback and some nice goals.

Biceps bergy said (at least once) "you can't trade for #1 centers" and "trading is hard, this isn't Playstation". In his defence, he did trade for one, Nick Suzuki, but HuGo has managed to get arguably two, Kirby Dach and Sean Monahan. I can't believe that Calgary gave Montreal a 1st round pick to take Monahan off their hands. I've been impressed with Monahan right from the start, he's a really good player. I think the Habs should consider re-signing him at the end of the year, if they can.

    1. 100%. Nothing so far that I don't like about his game.

    2. We could give Monahan the shortest yet à propos nickname, ever.

eyes on the prize, we need a elite goalie, an élite d man and and élite forward or even two. One could argue that DACH and Nature are élite. I am not making that argument yet. Gulue may be élite, but not making that argument yet. Slaf same story. We need at least two more top five draft picks or horsehoes with our 15 th picks, to be cup contenders, and I dont care about anything else.

  16. Kuznetsov viciously swings his stick directly in the face of an opposing player just because he's pissed. Nowhere near a hockey play. One game suspension. Clown league continues.

  17. I like the Habs do far this year. I have accepted that they won't win much..
But they are more fun to watch and that makes a difference. Also both goalies have looked good. Monty had his moments and Alain has been very good.

I figure MSL is doing 'trials' in 8 or 10 games segments. That is probably why we are seeing players like the Hoff and Dad, seeing if they are any good. Hopefully, after that we will see REM and the Pez back in the line-up. I miss their energy. Plus they provide just as much offence or more than the two vets. Plus, Drouin is washed up, he should only be a spare.

    1. I think we'll see a lot of Drouin in hopes of increasing his deadline value, from the current level of not a fucking chance.

    2. What SP said. In certain situations, Druid is an asset. In most, he is a floater. Maximize his value and hope he's tradable at the deadline.

The only asset you will get for Drouin is cap space. No one will give anything for that guy, he is damaged goods.

  19. Okay, we are not shit. Caps and Pens, Toronto and Detroit (in their home opener) against high-end goaltending for the most part, and 4 points, despite our top 2 D being out, and that impresses the shit out of me, honestly.

The Habs are not a shit team but, they are a team without a No. 1 goalie and 4 rookies on defence for another month or two. That will catch up with them eventually.

Because Buttman is a Buttman half the teams in the league are tanking. If we continue to play hockey we will be cannon fodder in the playoffs. We will pick at 17 and life will go on like the past 30 years.

Hmmmm.... Gabriel Landeskog out for 12 weeks, I wonder if Nate MacKinnon would like to be reunited with his buddy from Halifax, Jonathan Drouin? C'mon Joe, all you have to give up is future considerations, a 7th round pick in 2030 is fine.
