  1. Awesome thread, moe! Nice digs at the Blue Jays, I mean Leafs.

Druid and Daddynyet warming the bench. Four rookie D-men including AX from the hammer, Tweed (Harris, cuz he's high-end) and Guhle makingbthe start. First time in years we open the season at the Phone Booth.

We will lose a good many games this season, but for tonight, GYFHG!

    1. Oops, looks like Daddynyet is in, Pez out. Happily MonaHab, Nature and Devo are all healthy. Kovacevic (Copacetic?) Makes his Habs debut too.

    1. Halle was on my list back in the day when Mrs Pad and I were joking around and made a list of five celebrities each that if the chance miraculously occurred, there would be no questions asked and no hard feelings. Hasn't happened yet...I should check the statute of limitations on that.

Now that your clients (hockey canada) have all left you :) Just a chirp we all know you are a total mensCH. We need all hands on deck to stop captian underpants from scoring 5 goals, or at least that is what the SFU says. As for Arbor Jackeye nick. I like the axe angle and I like the billy jack angle, so what about BOAXE, its like Botox, but it does not frezze your features, it add scars everywhere.

I expect this game will finish 5 to 3 leaf, but our young lads will strike fear into the Leaf Nation, a fear that in a couple of years they will meet this team in the playoffs/

steve, the Habs just beat the wretched leaf in the playoffs less than two years ago. The leaf are no threat to anyone.

  14. I just wann say that watching this kid in pre-season, I predict Kaiden Guhle is this decade's Big Bird, but with added intensity. Mark my words: barring injury, Norris and Stanley are both in his future. Let's hooe it's a CH future.

Dont want to be Debbie Downer, but will he ever be better than Chevy. That trade will be the biggest dumpter fire on Bergy. He can skate forever on the Stanley cup appearance. but it was built on toothpicks and elastics from failed jock straps.

  48. What a night! Now I didn't get home until 1030 and I knew it was 2-2 with 5 minutes left when I left the curling club, so I zipped through the game, catching the goals and some plays here and there and watched the last 5. The ups and downs! MonoHab scores to take the 3-2 lead. YES! Wee Willie ties it up. FUCK! And Powerhorse for the win, with a beautiful assist by the captain! And an even better 2nd assist by Muzzin! So goddamned sweet!

They actually cut to the studio and the 'panel' is so dumbfounded, Carolyn Cameron (who is a sweetheart and I think is a hostage) actually says "so...ahhh...what do we talk about? The leafs powerplay?" or something to that effect. Brilliant stuff. Stewie looked absolutely heartbroken. Love it.

  49. Guhle nickname might just be STUD.

Or maybe we give Guhle, Harris, Xhekaj, Slafkovsky and Dach a collective name of Young Guns.

Guhle - Billy the Kid or BtK
    Harris - Doc
    Xhekaj - Dirty Steve (Stephens)
    Slafkovsky - Chavez
    Dach - Dick (Brewer)

Charlie Bowdre was the 6th Young Gun, so if Slafkovsky doesn't look Mexican enough...:)

  53. So we got to see a bit of the torCH. I'm cool with it.

I loved 'The Original' theme, kind of a fuck you to the centre of the universe.

Ovation for TFS™ was something else.

Very fun to know there will be some solid hits when opponents enter the Habs zone.

Was at the cottage and ran out of data just before the game of all times
Am so happy for the boys and for us
The leaf has us in their heads
It’s as satisfying as beating the beaners
So with matheson and Jed out our D looks pretty young
    I’m all in on this
Hockey is all about attitude and grit and effort
You don’t have to be older and experienced although it helps
This is an awesome time to grow together
    Like Marty said
    I’m stoked for the future
Now if Hugo can just get rid of the Druid life will be good
    Go Habs
