  1. Trivia night for me and I don't expect the Habs to do much against a pissed off bunch of Panthers who got whipped last night by the wretched leaf and SFU idol narcos.

  3. R.I.P. Joe Flaherty. He had a way of making every line funny, in sketch after sketch after sketch. Dali teaching kids to draw on SCTV's Sunrise Semester, with subtitles over his thick Dalian accent, "For the eyes... not just EYES! We use two farm-fresh EGGS!!"

I have the Count Floyd LP, I was that big a fan. And he John Candy played off one amother so well. Thanks for the laughs, Joe!

Aad I missed this one, looks like a good game by the boys.

Fun game. Like some of the pics, Nature is beautiful.

  9. Caught up on Shogun. Good series, well done. From what I remember of the 1980ish version, our new leading actor is appropriately much rougher around the edges than Richard Chamberlain. Then again I was 11 or 12 when I watched that. The leading lady in this version is quite stunning, which also doesn't hurt.

It’s nice to see the organization supporting Powerhorse
I can’t remember anyone more snake bit than him
I mean the mexicant went long stretches but he wasn’t the powerhorse by any means
I’m also liking the talk about getting a 23/24 year old Dach type sniper person who needs a change of scenery
It’s nice to read about some of the players who would fit
Everything is positive and happy surrounding the team even GI Finn is scoring
    Good times
    Go Habs

  15. A snowy day in April, let's hope that this is winter's last kick at the can. It's supposed to be sunny and double digit temps this Monday. I'll be digging out my shorts and there will be no going back until Halloween.

  16. Word on the street is the Habs are very interested in Jarome Iginla's kid in the 2024 draft. Sounds good to me if young Tij is even close to being the player his dad was. He has scored 47 goals this year as a 17 year old, should be even better next season as an 18 year old for Kelowna. They could even have Carey keep a close eye on him. Hopefully they give Price a heads up on his name before they pick him.

  19. TFS is in Halifax to host a charity event. Good interview by Paul Hollingsworth (a guy who should be a top TSN reporter/anchor but he's a Habs fan and die hard Expos supporter still so ya know why he isn't...). In his interview he even asked Carey what his top moment in his career was, for example coming back from 3-1 down to beat the Leafs?

    Shit puck luck
    Shit 2nd period

  28. Isles won their 3rd straight, Caps lost their 4th, putting Saint Patrick's team back into the last wildcard spot and within spitting distance of the third seed in the Metropolitan Division.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Anonymous7:13 AM

    How about those refs ?

    ReplyDelete
  30. Armia's resurgence is a great story this year. Happy for him. But let's not go thinking he's that extra scoring we need. He should be a part of the deal in the off season, along with picks and prospects to bag us a real sniper. Because he's more likely to turn into Josh Anderson than become a perennial 20 goal scorer.

Speaking of said sniper, considering his injury history and current state, would you steer clear of Patrik Laine?

    ReplyDelete
  31. Anonymous8:14 AM

No on Laine. Montreal is too big a city for him to handle the pressure. ~ moe

    ReplyDelete
  32. I have to agree, no to Laine, he is damaged goods.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Sadly I agree. Before he entered the assistance program, I thought he might still have what we need, but I guess he's just a Finnish Druid.

      Delete
    2. And even besides that, Laine's forte was to set up on the off wing and fire rockets at the net. Whiskey can do that already. The Habs need someone with more skills similar to Nature. A lot of people don't like him for whatever reason but someone like Trevor Zegras could be a big help skill-wise. Many armchair GMs are saying Anaheim and San Jose are loaded up front but need help on D. Seems like a match can be found there perhaps?

      Delete
  33. One thing for sure, whatever Hughes does in the near future to address the Habs scoring woes, no one will see it coming. Especially the dipshit SFU 'insiders'.

    ReplyDelete
  34. I only watched the 2nd period last night but based on what I've read this morning, seems like the Dolts took lots of liberties last night. I didn't see the Guhle hit nor the Evans one and I can't figure out why AX and the Pez weren't unleashed at some point. I did see a video where some guy named Mikey went after AX for a hit he didn't even make. That guy better be wary the next time these teams meet, I'm pretty sure Arber has his number memorized.

Somebody should have tuned up Dirtbag last night at least.

    ReplyDelete
  35. So hilarious I had to re-post here with the upcoming match.

leaf chatter is all about the terrible line combo issues.

So the problem seems to be what to do with the Anxious Marner and the answer seems to be welding him to Wet Willy.

Home Boy can center the third line with anyone!

Meanwhile the Fashion Conscious Austie is focused on 70 and can make even Humpty Domi look good by shooting from everywhere and anywhere even if that egg is cracked wide open.

The "other" Bertuzzi works well as a pylon with a Marty Feldman stare.

    So much to think about!

And they haven't even started on what happens after a disappointing first round loss!

    ReplyDelete
  36. No points in losses for Flyers, Caps and Wings tonight, helping the Isles' playoff hopes handily.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. And the Pens find themselves just two points away from a playoff seed too. I'd love to see them and the Isles push both the Caps and Flyers out.

Had a family leaf blower spending the night the other day.
Was interesting to talk to, he realizes the leaf will never win the cup with the team they have now. There is no balance, all firepower up front, no D and no goalie per say.
Says the entire focus in hogtown is on underpants getting 70.
If that happens then there will be celebration at least until the beaners eliminate them.
There is no pressure from anywhere as long as underpants keeps scoring.
So the whole direction of the team/coaching is focused on that.
Mildly amusing at the least, laughable at best.
So focus on underpants tonight and you will shut down the leaf.
    Go Habs

  40. I am off the tank for the night. Shutout the Leaf. Hattie for Nature. We are in six right now with a very slim chance at 5 and equal chance at 7. Looking at the picks right up to ten, they are all solid, one and two look special after that its a toss up.

For some contex look at the 2020 draft
Minnesota Wild defenseman Brock Faber has been named the NHL's Rookie of the Month after a stellar January. The 21-year-old Maple Grove taken 45 th overall may be the best pick. We took Ryan O'Rourke at 39 OMG! This was the Lafenere draft where we got Caden Guhle. Quinten Byfeld may be the best, the experts pick Tim Stules dives a lot.

    ReplyDelete
  41. I am worried about Ghoul - no word still? Might be a tough road back from this one for him.

HondaCivic will play tinight surely, but he's has been looking a lot more pedestrian lately, as the other D (Ghoul, Tweed and 1-Eyed Jack in particular) have improved their respective games significantly in the past coule of months.

Looking forward to tonight's scrap. I predict a Habs win with mustard.

    GYFHG!

    ReplyDelete
  42. No Guhle or AX tonight, Barron von Clumsy has been recalled from Laval. With both BvC and Gaffeson on D tonight look for lots of turnovers dished out and breakaways for leafers especially on the Poopie Play. Ouch.

    1. Good to sit anyone not 100%. Barron and Rawhide both have something to prove, so let's hope they bring it tonight.

This is prob Barron Von Clumseys last kick at the can.
I'm guessing he will be the D in the package for a sniper.
Like the look of Tweed better and better.
      Anyway just stop underpants tonight.

    1. Yes, I forgot about him. There will be better options available. If you can't trade him put him on waivers and if someone snaps him up so be it. But, I feel he will follow a similar path as REM who is currently playing in the AHL.

    1. I like Marty too but he's wrong.

    2. The leaf took the Habs lunch money last night. Nick said they are not that far away. My old eyes see a different story. Brian Wilde pointed out that narcos has 64 goals while the Habs 2nd, 3rd and 4th lines have 63. Until Hughes can fix that little problem nothing will change.

      Delete
    3. The Leafs are built up for a playoff run (I give them one series, maybe two) and the Habs were undermanned and that's okay; HuGo left Mailloux in Laval instead of Barron because the organization wants to help the Rockets make the AHL playoffs more (and it paid off pretty well, with the Rockets winnung their game last night.)

      No worries for next season.

    ReplyDelete
  73. Reaves is a classless asshole. Sheldon Keefe too for allowing the antics. Reaves was brave all night and ran Struble every chance he got, trying to goad him into a fight. Kudos to Pez for taking one for the team. I am looking forward to a quick exit from the playoffs for the classless leaf.
