  3. My question is whether the leaf window was ever open?
Once Boy Wonder signed pajama boy they never had any money for a defence or decent goaltender. I would have put the leaf over in no man's land.

    Go Habs!

  4. Crybaby Josh = Drouin 2.0
Hope he is traded soon, preferably to some California team.

There is an affirmative action for Quebec Hockey players in Montreal. There is some kind of aprahtid for coaches. Josh got more CHances than anyone, and he for whatever reason did not cash them in.

    2. Supposedly, his camp wanted or wants a meeting with Hughes to discuss his future in the Canadiens organization. Roy has had his chance, there is no future in Montreal. Send him to Anaheim for a bag of pucks.

Some of us may have thought it was Anderson you were referring to.

    4. Oops... no way Powerhorse is a crybaby. Joshua Roy cried his way out of Saint John, maybe he was homesick but he didn't have to dis Saint John on his way out. Maybe it's just me but Roy seems to project entitlement and he should automatically be given a spot. Too reminiscent of Drouin for me, time to move on.

Seems kind of entitled and quite reminiscent of when Druid held out as a rookie when he was with Tampon
I'm sure if he gave everything he had he would be in the NHL
      Wonder what his playbook is
      Definitely Druid 2.0
      Go Habs

    6. Yes, I thought I missed something about Powerhorse. I did hear about Roy's agent's complaints and I'm sorry, but more talented players than him have stepped up. His only route to the NHL lies in Gallaghering it (driving the net, tsking a beating) and he hasn't figured that out yet.

  5. Big night last night for Michael Hage, 2G 3A. I think Michigan is a powerhouse again as they lured several OHL star players south. I can't find CHL streams anymore since FloHockey took over but NCAA games can still be found.
The Sheriff and his Deputy are back on the job tonight against the 'Turds. Giddyup.

I am always the opotmist until the mule took over teh Whitehouse. Now I see something worse than the Leaf winning the CUP. I see absoulte eviel in motion when I dont have any kind of gun to fight back. To be fair with our without a firearm I am not going to stop any kind of arrmed insurrection.
Maybe If we talked about the carbon tax we could find some common ground.
Mostly I am worried if Wed will come. No not the girl the date.

  10. Looks like former Saint John Sea Dog Joe Veleno has made the Habs out of camp. Good for him, he played good hockey here - perhaps never living up to his exceptional status as a 15 year old - and left on good terms. He was traded but only after Saint John had taken their run at a championship and it was time to rebuild. I'm looking forward to Joe playing for the Habs, essentially replacing DVo , maybe his nick will be JVo...

Is there a player who had exceptional status that did not carve out a good career in the NHL?
Joe and my nick for him is Garage. Frank Zappa influnce there kids

    2. Sean Day was an exceptional out of the OHL, he never amounted to much.

    3. steve3:50 PM

Sean Day, is the mule like Trump. A guy born on third base who can never go home.

    4. John Tavares, Aaron Ekblad, Connor McDavid, Sean Day, Shane Wright. The first 3 sure, the other two not so much.

      Delete
    5. Connor Bedard, OK, Landon Dupont we'll see and Joe Veleno, meh, exceptional in the Q but nowhere else.

  11. Happy 60th to Patty Roy and the Magnificent One!
I either didn't know or have long since forgotten that those two legends were born on the same day in the province of Quebec. It should be at the very least a provincial holiday.
*Personal note - one of my brothers also was born on this day, turning 62. He is less legendary but doing OK for himself.

  12. Blais and Kakho both on waivers. It wouldn't surprise me to see both get claimed.

    1. There will be a lot of marginal players on waivers. It depends on the needs of farm teams I suppose.

      Delete
    2. If they are claimed don't they have to stay with the NHL team?

    You suck Jets.

  18. Woohoo! Suck on that Bills' Mafia!

Sadly it was far too late and I went to bed at halftime, after a terrible first half with turnovers and penalties on both sides.

  19. October 6th. Going to be 27º today, teeing off at 3:50. That's better than curling which has been delayed by 2 weeks.

2 days from puck drop. Our opening lines should look something like this, right?
    Whiskey-Nature-Slaf
    Wool-Dach-Demi
Bolduc-IceKap-Hooker (still trying to sort out Kapanen's nick)
    Horse-Sevans-Lep

    Maths-Dobson
    Ghoul-FastLane
    AX-Roch

    Monty
    Struble-Veleno

I don't know if we've settled on a nick for Dobson. But I expect he's called the very creative Dobber in the room...now when I was a teen, I ran the bingo in the basement of our church and this was after the invention of the bingo dobber where it was just paper bingo cards and the players would 'dob' the numbers. Long story short, an option for his nickname could be Bingo!

My other thought was Zark. Let me know if you get it :)

    1. I like 'Twist' for Kapanen since his first name is Oliver.
Since Noah Dobson is from Summerside PEI how about 'Bud' from Stompin' Tom's Bud the Spud from the bright red mud?

      Slight adjustment to your lines:
      Whisky Nature Slaf
      Hook Twist Demi
      Bold Dach Lep
      Horse 7Evans Wool
      JVo

Of course, the bottom six are all interchangeable.

Clearly Wool is still walking the 6th Astral Plane like is NHL 2007 and he is a contmproaryu of Pajami boy Narco. He cant pass, he cant skate, but he can shoot. It like a Dystopian movie. WatCH him shoot before you kick him out ot the compound.

  20. I'm already tired of the coverage of the Blow Jays. I can't even listen to CBC radio anymore. Friday on the Current they must have spent half the program talking about them. I don't know for sure because i switched stations after a couple of minutes, but I know I came back to CBC before the top of the hour and they were playing one of those damn bluejay songs from the 80s or 90s.
All it does is make me miss the Expos more because Vladdy Jr should be playing in Montreal.
So fuck 'em but it looks like they're taking the Yanks to the woodshed so I guess that's good.

  21. Well, well, the wretched leaf are picking from the Habs scrap heap. Sign of desperation?
So long Sammy Blais we barely knew you.
Primeau is from the WhalerCanes scrap heap but probably a better choice than a washed up James Reimer. Didn't Hughes get the new KK for CP30?

  22. Man, McD took a huge discount to stay with the Oil. leafools will be all over this for the next two years. However, the timing will be perfect with the Habs Cup window wide open as the leaf crash and burn.

I think McJesus took a Homer town discount but at two years he's also sayin there's your window there's your savings now you have two years to get it done then I'm history and hopefully off to Hab Land where the parade takes the usual route

  23. Yeah I know McD is looking to the future, and giving the Oil 2 years to surround him with a winning team. But he still gave a massive discount. He could have just as easily said 2 year deal, max cap (whatever that is now). Take it or leave it. It is refreshing to see these guys that will play for less for a chance to win in the city that loves them. I'm not sure if our remaining young guns will do the same, but having our Captain at $7.75 (or whatever it is) is a hell of a deal.

    1. Honestly, if you make a few millions, just get a good accountant and you're more than set for life. I'll never see 6 figures in my lifetime. I have no time for this "taking a discount" crap. They're filthy rich one way or the other.

  26. The tranna media is downplaying it to the extreme, but the wretched leaf lost a 100 point player who was also their #1 penalty killer. My golf buddy who used to scout the Q for the Blues says Macelli, Domi, Joshua and Roy are all bottom 6 players. Narcos doesn't have that 100 point player feeding him anymore. Pajama Boy is 35 years old. The leaf aren't that good.
Let's hope the Habs can take advantage early in the season.
