Well, they tell me of a Habs pie up in the sky
Waiting for me when before I die
But between the day Roadrunner and I were born and then we fly
The sfu never seem to hear our Olé cry
So as sure as the Habs sun will shine
I'm gonna get my share now, what's mine
And then the harder they come
The harder they fall, one and all
Ooh, the harder they come
The harder they fall, leaf and all
Well, the mediot oppressors are trying to keep us down
Trying to drive my Habs underground
And they think that they have got their battle won
I say forgive them Rocket, they know not what they've done
'Cause, as sure as the HuGo sun will shine
I'm gonna get my share now, what's mine
And then the harder they come
The harder they fall, refs and all
Ooh, the harder they come
Harder they fall, leafools and all
And I keep on blogging for the things I want
Though I know that when you're dead you can't
But I'd rather be a free man in my time
Than living as a puppet or as gambling slime
So as sure as the sun will shine
I'm gonna get my share now, what's mine
And then the harder they come
The harder they fall, sfu and all
Ooh, the harder they come
Harder they fall, mclame and all
Hey, the harder they come
The harder they fall, Utah and all
Hey, the harder they come
The harder they fall, Vegas and all
Hey, the harder they come
The harder they fall, Avs and all

ReplyDeleteLots of debate over at EOTP about the D situation, who stays who goes.
Now Engstrom called makes it more complicated.
Some are speculating AX will be the odd man out. Or Strobe. Meh.
How about they will be showcasing AE?
I watched Kyper and Bourne last night on YouTube ... Kyper was adamant the the Xhekaj bros played a huge part in beating the leaf. He said the leaf had no answer for those two.
I say AX is going nowhere or Strobe, you need that toughness if you are going anywhere in the playoffs. Probably even more of it. FloX stays.
If I were to speculate, AE will be part of a package to bring in ROR or someone similar.
Hughes always likes to get ahead of the game. He got RoCH in December last year.
Like a good chess player, he's always a few moves ahead.
Go Habs.
FANtastic parody moe!
ReplyDeleteRIP Jimmy.
P,T&A is one of my favourite movies. Saw it during my brief (thankfully) 6 month stay in Toronto in '87.
Starr and D'Amico too are speculating whether Engstrom is being showcased.
Expect the unexpected when it comes to Kent.
GYMFHG!
Genius, apt and timely parody, moe!
ReplyDeleteYes, Engstrom is by all accounts a good puck-moving d-man, but not terribly tough. The classic "get you to the playoffs but not through" player, I suspect. A showcasing is possible, as I feel like HuGo's moves are precisely designed towards acquiring more of the "get you throughs" at this stage, and I'm here for it..
They've got 3 puck movers already, Dobber, Math and Rock.
DeleteThey really don't need another one.
I just read that Trotz is gauging interest in his (expensive) vets who are currently not working out for him.
ROR would be welcome.
Stammer maybe but Nash would have to eat a shit load of that cap hit.
Marschy no thanks.
Forsberg sure.
Anyway, the next few weeks will be interesting.
R.I.P. curling legend and fellow Bluenoser Colleen Jones.
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed watching her and her team play and win 4 Scotties in a row and 2 world championships.
It was a rare thing back then for a Maritimes team to win like that.
They were a powerhouse.
Always a joy. Rest in peace.
DeleteWhatever happened to Reggae music man., in the blood man trenchtown blues man.
ReplyDeleteHabs are not satisfied mon with the current state of this corporation. Man why have the big three when you can have the big 8 and 1/2?
Strange game times this week.
ReplyDelete1030pm tonight. Much too late for this old fart. That's my bedtime.
Friday at 5pm vs Vegas and Saturday at 4pm vs Colorado. Weird, but good for our friend UK3X.
All because of the damn Murrican Thanksgiving and 'black friday' business.
All times noted are AST.
They will be lucky to come away with 2 points from this trip.
Two points would be good, three would be excellent.
DeleteAnything over and above that is gravy.
Uninjured would be enough.
DeleteI'm just hoping nobody else gets hurt.
ReplyDeleteWay way too late for me...the Vegas and Av games are great times...so just fucking win boys!
ReplyDeleteThe tusks up Mamut are about to take a frozen time in the ice age. Meanwhile no more tax dollars for stupidity and that included Ukraine. We dont need to teach people in Vietnamm how to grow rice Jesus Christ.
ReplyDeleteEnglish Stromboli in the line-up tonight. Doobie in nets. Mammoth will be out for revenge after being slammed in Montreal earlier this month. Thanksgiving weekend kick-off so they'll be juiced.
ReplyDeleteSo will our USA CHers, Whiskey and Fast Lane.
Win this one for Heineman's wrist, boys! GYFHG!
I was going to try to watch the first period but don't think I will last until then.
ReplyDeleteI'm recording the game so probably tomorrow morning for me.
Good Luck to the lads.
5 on 3 for 53 seconds. Cash it!
ReplyDeleteGraf!
ReplyDeleteDoobie is bringing one of his more commanding, cocky, tske-charge games and it's really working so far.

ReplyDeleteDoobie stops this shit, grabbing the puck. Good holistic game instincts on display.
ReplyDeleteNice win, lads. Great way to start a road trip.
ReplyDeleteall the stars shine Bull Duke, Snipe Snipe Win
ReplyDeleteGood to wake up to the highlights and a win. Thought they blew it when they gave up 3 in a row but the kids are alright. Everybody chipping in, but man Suzuki and Hutson are the offensive engines on this team.
ReplyDeleteThey got two points on this trip at least. Now, if they can steal one tomorrow that would be great. Just throw the Colorado game in the dumpster, try to keep it close.
ReplyDeleteHappy to see SiM stick it out last night, somebody's got to hold the fort down.
ReplyDeleteFinished watching the re-run from last night, other than the brief melt down in the 2nd a decently played game. They had their legs especially in the 3rd period when Marty shortened the bench.
Doobie was rock steady, you've got to give the net to him going forward. Unlike the tsn crew's suggestion I would let Doobie play a weaker Vegas team, try to get another point there, and let the chips fall where they may in Colorado with Monty.
And, props to the Captain, he put the team on his back last night, job well done. What a player.
Nice win.
ReplyDeleteSo many rookies!
Snipe city on the Nature And Demi goals.
20th point for Demi, fastest 20 for a rookie since The Flower !
Was down and out with a bad cold.

Welcome back Sammy Blais.

DeleteSWIDT ?
YES! LOL!
DeleteWow. Congrats to Halifax's Christina Black on making it to the final of the Olympic trials here in her home town.
ReplyDeleteIt's a tough hill, just beat the #2 ranked team in the world to get there to play Rachel Homan, the #1 team in the world.
But perhaps stars are aligned. Nova Scotia greatest curler just passed so can give her a boost from beyond (if you're into that sort of thing). And the best of three final starts tomorrow on BLACK Friday. It's right there in her name! It's meant to be... maybe.
GO NOVA SCOTIA ! ! !
DeleteYou have to specify that this is curling or end the comment with ‘harder!’
DeleteHURRY ! HARD !

DeleteHabs next 6 games are 3 back2backs.
ReplyDeleteTime for Monty to figure his shit the fuck out.
DeleteHabs sign MnM, 5 years at $6mil AAV, good deal for the team.
ReplyDeleteGood news indeed. Well deserved.
DeleteSome good news, both Montreal and Colorado play today, the Canadiens in Vegas of course and Colorado in Minnesota. They both have to travel but Montreal has the shorter distance, so maybe the game will be a little more evenly matched than I anticipated earlier.
ReplyDeleteHopefully Monty can save the first SOG today and give his team a little momentum.
Go Habs!
Really loving the Matheson signing. Another steal from HuGo

ReplyDeleteMonty's best 20 min. of the season right there. Something to build on.
ReplyDeleteDecent 1st period, the PK was a mess but yeah, props to Monty for holding them in.
ReplyDeleteGreat to come home from work and catch the game.
ReplyDeleteHugo did some good Math again.
Weird how friedman didn’t know beforehand.

DeleteWhiskey time !
DeleteHabs really could do with getting a few more shots on goal. This ain't gonna hold much longer at this rate...
ReplyDeleteWhiskey should have 4 by now.
ReplyDelete10!shots on Goal..
ReplyDeleteAll quality on great plays.
DeleteGood road game so far.
ReplyDeleteOK, lock this sucker down.
ReplyDeleteBit of a shit PP...
ReplyDelete7vens !
ReplyDelete7vans!!!
ReplyDelete7evans!
ReplyDeleteGreat pass Tex!
ReplyDeleteI still have the theory that Monty was so focused on the Olympics that it impacted his game. He now knows that dream is dead so he can focus on winning games for the Montreal Canadiens instead of worrying about sitting in the press box in Italy.
ReplyDeleteYoungest team in the league playing a stacked bought by bettman team.
ReplyDeleteBut old and slow.
DeleteVegas is old and slow.

ReplyDeleteSlaf !
ReplyDeleteSlaf with the dagger.
ReplyDeleteHell of a road game by the lads.
ReplyDeleteA scary few minutes near the end but pulled it off.
Credit to Montembeault, played his best game of the year by far.
Nice win boys...shame about losing the shuttie but a solid road victory nonetheless...
ReplyDeleteYup, best game by Monty in quite some time.
ReplyDeleteMeanwhile, thanks Flames and thanks Blues and go Craps.
Vegas should try to trade for Monty he plays well in that building.
ReplyDeleteWhatever happens tomorrow in Colorado, I'm not too concerned. Two win and four points out of this trip is outstanding.
ReplyDeleteThis was the first time this season I've watched the full game...I enjoyed it but I gotta admit I wasn't too impressed with the Habs work in the faceoff spot. Very poor - lacked commitment - needs a lot of work...except Nature...he did well
ReplyDeleteThat will get fixed when they get O'Reilly from Nashville. He's over 50% on faceoffs.
DeleteI'm not sold on him. Depends on the cost I guess.
DeleteI Hugo we trust but I agree with St Paddy, buyer beware, he is old and slow
DeleteSecond round pick and WaWa.
Deleteleaf lose.

DeleteThe most NHL points in 2025:
ReplyDelete1) David Pastrnak: 98 points in 68 games
2) Nate MacKinnon: 96 points in 65 games
3) Nikita Kucherov: 96 points in 68 games
4) Jason Robertson: 83 points in 70 games
5) Connor McDavid: 80 points in 58 games
6) Nick Suzuki: 80 points in 68 games
Leafs lose in regulation, as well as most of the CH division rivals. Great to know four points are in the bank going into Denver tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteAnd both goalies have a solid win everyone can feel confidant about. GYFHG!
You gotta love Mike Matheson's logic re: his new contract. "I left money on the table so Kent will be able to sign Connor McDavid in two years. Or less."
ReplyDeleteI laughed last night at a comment on the leaf podcast, "trade Matthews and pray McDavid will come home." To which another fan replied: "McDavid won't go anywhere near Toronto."
I can see a point where Tranna will be too toxic a place for fee agents to go. And soon.
Nice game boys
ReplyDeleteI just sauntered over to espn standings and noticed the leaf aren't even in the running for the wild card
Wow I know it's early but between shanaban and dumbass they have buried the leaf for the foreseeable future
I don't know why that makes me smile
Funny thing that
So today we will see how we stack up against the nodicks powerhouse
One regulation loss
Whew
Maybe we get a goalie to show up
That would be nice
Go Habs
Nords vs Habs. Sipping some Mooseheads here to hppefully distracg MacKinnon (don't ask me how that's supposed to work).

ReplyDeleteKodi dont play CHarlie no more. Yes its been two weeks and Kodi dont play hockey. Buttman victory today but tommorw no one is watCHing hockey because we are not going to pay to watCH plays a pee wee would or could or not make. Eat your audience and you starve. Starve Starve Sterve I say as a bitter old man. But it started with music, beat on a long and talk genius, then it spread to TV an next Movies. Case in point Bond Girls, supposed to be beautiful. Last Bond movie what do you see?
You Tube baby, my life is running out faster than I can make disaster, and a 10 min hockey game is great from me. Two hours I could have wasted and I did it in ten minutes. Thats my pick up line, what used to take me two hours I can do in ten minutes or less.

A day later and dollars in your pocket. This is the first stage of the revolutions where humanity says instant gradification is some kind of mind control we cant prevent unless we think
ReplyDeleteNot a great period...Boys looked like they played last night then flew halfway across the country...
ReplyDeleteThe more I see it the worse it looks...Doobie should have had that 1st goal
ReplyDeleteAnd the 3rd...
ReplyDeleteNot coming back from this.
ReplyDeleteWow...what a shit show
ReplyDelete4 out of 6 points. Still a successful trip despite how this goes.
ReplyDeleteI'm out. Think I can find something more interesting to do with my time.
Go Pens.
ReplyDeleteHmmm... I thought this game started at 5 EST so I missed the 1st period.
ReplyDeleteI guess I didn't miss much.
Now 4 zip, should be pretty boring from here on in...
