Yes me too The person that clears my driveway drives a tractor and looks like a criminal Wonder how much it costs to get one of those naked girls Prob a fair bit Anyway Birds the word tonite Like the licking FloAx put on the pez for that cheap shot Pez it clearly fitting in nicely in the armpit Let's stomp the rags tonight please Go Habs
I was13 years old when the 71 Canadians took the ice. Everything in my life was perfect. In 1971 I had zero complaints and zero worries about my future. What did we do wrong and can we fix it? I say no way. 4 feet of soil will stop most gamma rays, but you got to filter the air for at least two weeks. Practice with a 3 foot crowbar. I am pretty sure no one without a gun can take me now
In the spring of '71 I was 16 years old, getting ready to write a grade 11 biology exam on that May night when Jacques Lemaire scored from just over the red line on Tony Esposito to make it 2-1 Chicago. The Pocket Rocket then proceeded to score 2 goals and Ken Dryden shut the door at the old Chicago Stadium to win the unexpected Cup. I remember my mother watching it with me. A great memory. Oh yeah, I skimmed through my biology text book on the bus ride to school the next day and passed it. It was a 45 minute ride so lots of time to that work done.
I knew that Bobby Rousseau had played for the Habs at the start of his career but I remembered him more as a NY Ranger. RIP.
Born in ‘61, Habs fan from birth but realized how blessed I was in ‘68. Imagine how we’ve seen so many great goalies. Hoping the Bird keeps up the tradition and gets the big Cup. Also took a daily bus ride from Galt/Cambridge to Hamilton for 4 years. 45 minute ride. Loved my high school days from ‘76 to ’79. Enjoyed the jealousy of leafools. Hated hnic because they hated the Habs. Some things never change. ~moe
Also born in 61 in Winnipeg. Became a Habs fan on the last day of the season 1970. Listened on the radio. Habs needed 5 goals to make the playoffs and were losing 5-2. Pulled the goalie with 10 mins left and lost 10-2. Missed the playoffs, but I decided then and there, that this was my team. Moved to Galt/ Cambridge in grade 8 for 1 year. Just missed you Moe. We mighta met and become friends. My family unfortunately moved back to the Peg the next year. Dad must have hated how close we were to COTU
I listened to many hockey games on the radio growing up in southwest Nova Scotia. The signals on a clear night were great with open water between there and the U.S. Boston, New York, Philly, Pittsburgh even Detroit games I could pick up on our AM radio. Radio-Canada out of Moncton carried the games as well, I picked up a lot of French terminology listening to those games.
I'm just a young fella, born on my day in '69. So I was only 2 in 1971. My first hockey memory is the 1975 New Years Eve game vs the Red Army. My folks were out and my Great Aunt was sitting me and my brothers who were 10, 11, &12 at the time. She was a Habs fan and let us stay up to watch the game. Even the leaf and bruin fans (the middle bros) watched. I think they were cheering for the Russians.
I was living with my aunt and uncle in Yarmouth, N.S. while attending community college. I think they were out dancing and I was sitting my 3 younger cousins.
I think Marty and the Habs are still paying for their post game comments after the Edmonton game back in October. The biased refs are still fucking them every chance they get. Probably best to bite his tongue.
That's funny! I had an uncle that would go on benders. He showed up (drinking and driving was way more of a thing then) and I remember him calling them all "Fucking Kruschev!" Being 6, I didn't know who Kruschev was, but I'm pretty sure he was dead by then (I know now) Good thing Dad wasn't home. He didn't abide cursing in the house.
Someone, maybe Kapenen got tripped by a Ranger - or "upended" - like 6 seconds before tgey call a chintzy one on tge CH in OT. Fucking joke. Sorry, Birdman.
We'll be fighting on ice sheets With our CHildren at our feet And the morals that they worship will be gone And the men with striped shirts on Sit in judgement of all wrong They decide and the whistle calls it wrong
I'll tip my hat to the goalie substitution Take a bow for Fast Lane's revolutions Smile and grin at HuGo's team all around Tune in RDS and play Just like yesterday Then I'll get on my knees and pray We don't get reffed again
The CHange, it had to come We knew it all along We got obliterated in goal, overall But team D looks just the same And history ain't changed 'Cause Stanley Cup banners, they aren't flown in any losing cause
I'll tip my hat to MSL's restitution Take a bow for Demidieu's revolutions Smile and grin at the CHange Pick up my TV clicker and play Just like yesterday Then I'll get on my knees and pray We don't get goalied again No, no!
I'll move myself and my CH family aside If we happen to be left half alive I'll get all my papers and smile at the sky Though I know that the compromised Refs never lie Do ya?
There's nothing on NHL ice sheets Looks any different to me And the excuses are replaced, by-the-bye And the bought refs on the left Are now blinded by the sight of More money than they've ever made in one night
I'll tip my hat if betting's sent to the dustbin Take a bow for Nature's resolution Smile and grin at the CHange all around Pick up my blogger and say Just like yesterday Then I'll get on my knees and pray We don't get reffed again Don't get reffed again No, no!
Man oh man...up 4-2 I called it a night. Habs got reffed again but ffs - everyone wants to score goals and has completely forgotten to play D. Feel bad for Bird. Habs need waaay more presence in front of there own net. If you stand in front of our net, you should feel some pain. No one is getting touched and all the goals happened up close (penalty shot doesn't count - that was a BS call to start with)...so far...7 games played in December=7 points...dropped points in December will haunt us in April...
Despite the fact they can't play defence worth shit, and the questionable issues, the Habs are only 3 points out of first place in the Atlantic division with a game in hand. But, only 6 points out of last place. So, firmly 'In Da Mix'.
As eMTy once said, this Habs D is 'soff'. If they had Weber, Chiarot and Edmundson on this team with Matheson, Hutson and AX then you would be talking.
As for tonight's game, yikes, McD and Drai 's eyes will be as big as cup saucers when the Habs D parts like the Red Sea for them with a path straight to the net. Ouf!
Hmm, Habs up 3-0 last night. Pats up 3 TDs vs the hated Bills today. I won't get my hopes up yet. I just can't believe I had a chance to keep Drake Maye in fantasy for this year and stupidly didn't. I didn't want to jinx him basically.
I will continue to preach the the dumbest rule in the NHL is that when you score on a delayed penalty, the penalty is cancelled. The two things are 100% unrelated. The league is always on about wanting more scoring, so give the penalty.
I’ve never liked him as he sucked bertrand raymond cork for years. francois gagnon is a slimy little fuck, trying to make hay with MSLs words. MSL shut down his post game presser almost immediately.
Habs beat the Oilers? I did not have that on my bingo card. Good recovery from the previous night's debacle. The playoff race is going to be wild the way the teams are bunched up.
If you watched the post-game interview on the ice with Marc Denis, you could see how much Dobeลก CHerished the standing O he received. I think he's the type of player that really responds to that positive reinforcement, and I think/hope that game pulls him out of his funk. I feel he is the #1 and MontembOHNO may be the firm backup. Birdman looks good, but I have no problem with him going back to Laval if at least one of our other goalies has his head on right.
I am not a cruel guy, but what if you gave the bank to a healty gay man and then his boyfriend tried something and it did not work and he left you with a broken back? Not that there is anything wrong with trying circle du soiel in your own theater.
Love those juxtaposed shots of Vodkov & TFS with FastLane & Big in Net Bird
