We usually place top 5, won once many years ago.

  11. - congrats to Kingsbury in getting Canada's first gold

    - MPP tied for most Olympic goals by a woman. 2 games to beat the record. Go MPP go!

    - Been watching some curling. Aside from the big stone touching fiasco, I haven't been overly impressed by our teams. Just the rest of the world has caught up too I suppose.

    - Aside from the Canadians, cheering for SlafZeusky and the Slovaks. Though I just watched a news bit about Rubio visiting Slovakia because their leader is a Trump fan, so...

  18. Congrats to Moncton, NB's Cortney Sarault on her 2nd medal, a silver.
She's the daughter of former Hab (who I admittedly don't remember) Yves Sarault. He was a 3rd round pick in 91 and played a handful of games in the mid 90s

  19. Hey The M. I was up early watching Olympics and during a commercial I flicked to CTV and there used to be a show called Canada's Worst Driver and an old episode was on and it was Shirley from Cape Breton about to do her final road test, so I watched.
The contestants wrecked the training car so they rented a '66 Mustang Convertible. I've never been so anxious watching somebody drive. I feared for the car, the host, the driver and everybody on the road. But mostly the car. Season finale of season 7 I think, if you can find it. It's worth a watch (spoiler: everybody survived, including the car).

My favourite bit: (host) "Shirley you have to be to the right of the double yellow line! Move over, this is a blind hill!"
(Shirley) "I've never seen a double yellow line before."

I wouldn't have cared if wrecked that Mustang. Never liked convertibles.

  20. I looked up Yves Sarault, he played a few games for the Habs. I would have seen him play for the Fredericton Canadiens and he must have been traded to Calgary because he played for the Saint John Flames. I kinda vaguely remember him now that I think of it but it was over 30 years ago.
