Had the service for bro yesterday. And I just learned one of my poker/golf buddies just passed at 60 from a massive heart attack. And also just learned that an old friend's special needs daughter has stage 4 breast cancer. She is 46.
Not trying to be a downer on this 'lucky' day of mine. Need some upbeat, positive comments and...
Maybe they are destined to take a step back this year. Need a better defensive system. Stable goaltending. Maturity. I'm skipping the weekday games and just doing Saturday night. Easier on the nerves.
Looking at the standings, they really need a regulation win vs the Wings. That is the first tie breaker and they are behind both the Bruins and Wings in that category.
I hope Nick gets to the 100 point plateau, that would be great. What I'm really hoping for is CC to win the Rocket Richard trophy. That would be the next best thing to a Cup win.
I see Venezuela won the World baseball tournament beating the US. If that isn't poetic justice I don't know what is.
When serial killer Allan Legere died last week, a CBC reporter interviewed the Police Chief in Miramichi and asked him his thoughts. The Chief merely replied : "Burn in Hell." That is what I wish on trump and all his evil minions -- to burn in Hell.
I hope the rest of the world stand their ground and tell that fucking asshole to fuck off all day long. I also hope Canada and Mexico soon send help to the Cuban people. Fuck trump and his trade war.
I forgot, Congrats to Old KidG on playing his 900th NHL game. Pretty good stuff for an undersized 5th round pick. Hopefully the team can help him get to 1000 eventually. Didn't they do that for SuperPleXXX once, played him a couple of games at the start of the season and then he retired?
SuperPleXXX played 984 games with Montreal and 17 with the wretched leaf as he was traded at the deadline in 2018 for a total of 1001 games. He came back the next season and played 3 games at the start, I actually remember his two children coming out on the ice with their nanny (I'm guessing) for a ceremony at the 1000th honouring Pleky. He retired thereafter.
Need at least a point tonight. Need the Rags to beat the BJs. Need the Jets to beat the beaners. Those are both home games for the latter teams, probably a lot to ask for. Also, would be good if the Dogfish to beat barfalo and the Canuckleheads to beat Tampon Bay.
No Larkin is a plus. He's a real Habs killer. This won't be easy though cuz they probably remember the Habs ruining their centennial season home opener and will want revenge.
They already got their revenge though, beating us 4-0 in January at ghr phone booth. One of the few teams in pur division that we only meet three times in thevregular season. Make it count, boys. JFW!
Doobie back, Velvet in for the Horse. No word on Ax but Strobelight and the whole d-corps played pretty solid last game, so it makes sense to have no changes there.
Mistakes kill. Carrier missing the net from between the dots. Gotta make the tender save that. Evans panicking and missing the open net. And Math...there was no need to turn, he could have just skated into that puck and around the net. Can't win em all, but you gotta win these important division games. Everybody else won. She's toight.
RIP Chuck Norris. A true karate guy, although he added some Korean elements to his own style. In real life he would have beat the snot out of Bruce Lee, a made in Hollywood martial artist.
My brother that just passed was a huge fan. Saw every one of his movies in theatre and owned them all on dvd. And did he have a tv series in the 90s? Walker, Texas Ranger? Maybe? Anyway, he had that too. That's all gone to the charity shops now.
I thought Chuck's best movie was Code of Silence where he played a Chicago cop or detective. He mentioned in an interview with Conan O'Brien that he was beat up by a bunch of guys in one of the scenes ... which is what would actually happen in a real fight. Conan asked him how many opponents he could realistically take on, I think 3 was the answer. If they were untrained. If you watch the Bruce Lee movies where he takes on a dozen or more, they all wait their turn to rush in and get hit. Funny.
I did not like Chuck becasue he wanted me in Jail for smoking a joint. But I loved his movies. Great part of my life when a movie or an album release meant something more than waiting for it to stream
Canadian golfers aren't off to a great start this year. Seven at the Valspar and Corey Connors the only one in the red after day 1. Day 2 not off to a great start for them.
Slàinte Mhath !
ReplyDeleteErin go Bragh!! GYFIHG!
ReplyDeleteOk I need a fucking win.
ReplyDeleteIt's a rough week.
Had the service for bro yesterday. And I just learned one of my poker/golf buddies just passed at 60 from a massive heart attack.

DeleteHere we go.4:00 to RoCH for a completely accidental high stick. How bout dem refs
ReplyDeleteDem happen.
DeleteI might have an unwarranted dislike of RoCH lately, but this isn't helping. Kill #2 at least.
ReplyDeleteToo bad Powerhorse has forgotten how to score.
Nature!
ReplyDeleteEvery mistake ends up in the back of the net.
ReplyDeleteEvery open net is whiffed.
ReplyDeleteEvery high stick finds an opponent's face.
ReplyDeleteHandy Andy!
ReplyDeletePowerhorse!
ReplyDeleteKidG and FastLane helpers
DeleteCBJ and NYI winning tonight.
ReplyDelete2 points is a must.
Maybe they are destined to take a step back this year.
ReplyDeleteNeed a better defensive system.
Stable goaltending.

I'm skipping the weekday games and just doing Saturday night.
Easier on the nerves.

ReplyDeleteCC! 40-Proof Whiskey!
ReplyDeleteWhat a pass by Nature.
ReplyDelete3 points for Fast Lane.

Only 2 by Lane I guess. He sucks.
DeleteGreat team win.
ReplyDeleteGreat job.
ReplyDeleteI'll check out the highlights tomorrow.
Great finish.
ReplyDeleteForty
ReplyDeleteAnd 80 pts for Suzuki. Still on pace for 98.
ReplyDeleteLooking at the standings, they really need a regulation win vs the Wings. That is the first tie breaker and they are behind both the Bruins and Wings in that category.
If you use his stats since Slaf rejoined the line (11 pts in 7 games), Suzuki is on pace for 104 points.
DeleteI hope Nick gets to the 100 point plateau, that would be great.
ReplyDeleteWhat I'm really hoping for is CC to win the Rocket Richard trophy.

DeletePretty sure it was Madame SuperPleXXXe. Pleky has good taste.
DeleteThe M is right IIRC. It may have been his mom?
DeleteI recall he was in the midst of divorce and dating a tennis player at the time.
Pretty sure it wasn't Madame Pleky, she was an older lady.
DeleteIt might have been his Mom.
I’m still buzzed about goal #40 !

Powerhorse wounded ... time to take him out behind the barn...
ReplyDeleteDoobie in net vs. DET.
ReplyDeleteToo funny to see ConsterNation's sfu still crying about the nachos knee on knee.
ReplyDeleteThey are like a dog on a bone about that.
DeleteNeed at least a point tonight.
ReplyDeleteNeed the Rags to beat the BJs.
Need the Jets to beat the beaners.
Those are both home games for the latter teams, probably a lot to ask for.

So is Wool getting a shot tonight?
ReplyDeleteNope. Still 'injured' apparently.
DeleteVeleno in.
Vel-Niño
DeleteAs always..JFW!
ReplyDeleteTonight I predict a huge game for Doobie and a goal for Dobbo...Doobie Dobbo Do!
ReplyDeleteNo Larkin is a plus. He's a real Habs killer. This won't be easy though cuz they probably remember the Habs ruining their centennial season home opener and will want revenge.

ReplyDeleteAbsolutely love how the Red Wings' vintage jerseys' white is off-white, like cream.
ReplyDeleteGhoul and Van Shitstreak having a night.
ReplyDeleteCash it!
ReplyDeleteMissed the first. Here to see CC get #41 in the 2nd period.
ReplyDeleteBS interference call on 48
ReplyDeleteKaiden took some iron pills. Feisty !
ReplyDeleteSlaf!!!
ReplyDeleteS L a F !
ReplyDeleteSlafsquatch!
ReplyDelete25th goal, 13th on the PP.
ReplyDeletePlayoff hockey.
ReplyDeleteUgh
ReplyDeleteAck.
ReplyDeleteFFS. Miss an open net. Then do that shit. Top much of that happens with this team to be consistently good.
ReplyDeleteThat said, it would be a hell of a playoff matchup to meet these guys for the first time since '78.
Lots of mistakes.
ReplyDeleteMistakes kill.
ReplyDeleteCarrier missing the net from between the dots. Gotta make the tender save that.
Evans panicking and missing the open net.
And Math...there was no need to turn, he could have just skated into that puck and around the net.
Can't win em all, but you gotta win these important division games.
Everybody else won. She's toight.
Meh, was hoping for a loser point.
ReplyDeleteCouple of bad breaks, that's hockey.
On to the next one.
RIP Chuck Norris.
ReplyDeleteA true karate guy, although he added some Korean elements to his own style.
In real life he would have beat the snot out of Bruce Lee, a made in Hollywood martial artist.
RIP.

That's all gone to the charity shops now.
Yup, Walker, Texas Ranger was his series. I only watched a few episodes of Season 1.
DeleteI thought Chuck's best movie was Code of Silence where he played a Chicago cop or detective.

Day 2 not off to a great start for them.
I think this tournament was Adam Hadwin's sole PGA win, which is why he's playing (albeit poorly) since he lost his card this year.
DeleteR.I.P. Rodger Brulotte, Expos broadcaster as good as they come.
ReplyDeleteA bit loud but fun to listen to. Rest in peace.
