And a quick look at his hockeydb page...he was on 2 teams that moved cities. With Atlanta when they moved to Calgary and with the Rockies when they moved to NJ. /end rabbit hole
It doesn't matter who or where they play but playoff scenarios are interesting to me.
Buf vs Chi tonight. If Buf get 2 points, Habs can't get first place. Hard to imagine they don't win this game. TB vs Det. 2 points ties them with the Habs. Det just got eliminated, can't imagine they'll put too much effort into it. So games 82 (Habs vs PHI and TB vs NYR and BUF vs DAL) will probably determine seeding. Pretty wild. They in theory with a Buf loss and Habs and TB win all finish with 108 points. So it would come down to whether these remaining games are regulation wins or not. Habs lose this race all day thanks to all of those early season OT wins and would be 3rd. Buf and TB could finish each with 42 regulation wins, and TB would win the 2nd tie-breaker because they have one more Regulation/OT win than Barfalo.
And which wild card team is joining the Battle of the Atlantic? A win by the B's vs NJ on Tuesday gives it to them. One point or less then the game of turds vs compost heap on Wednesday matters. If I'm those teams, I'm thinking a trip through the Metropolitan division looks a little juicier to be honest, so finishing in the 2nd spot ain't so bad.
Fuck it's exciting times. This is WAY better than spinning the tankathon wheel of shame.
I'd like to see the leaf finish 5th from the bottom and then a lower team (it will probably be FLA) win the lottery, moving the leaf to #6 and see that pick to to the beaners.
Like Lori Bennett said in her latest blog entry, the only people who don't believe Nature is a true #1 center are trolls ... guaranteed to be leafers or beaners.
I like to watch Real Kyper and Bourne on YouTube in the evening for hockey info. The first hour is always leaf and I enjoy listening to the debates between Nick and Justin plus all the angst that usually ensues. The one guy I can't stand is that schmuck Sammy McKee, a dyed in the wool leafool and blow jay fan -- it's always fun listening to him whine when either team lose the day or night before. They usually have decent guests as well, scouts, former players, agents, etc. On the set wall behind Justin they have a spot where they hang a hockey sweater depending on who they are discussing at the time. The first hour it's alway a leaf one obviously and then they switch it out. Last Friday they had a nice white Nick Suzuki #14 hanging, courtesy of the Montreal Canadiens. Nick and Justin were quite pleased to have received it while poor Sammy was flummoxed, he is a pure Hab hater and even admitted it one time. Heh, I have a feeling he's going to be seeing a lot of it in the next while. GO HABS!
Barfalo probably clinching 1st with a reg win tonight. Is it worth playing all your top guys vs the Philthy Phuckers in hopes TB loses to the lowly Rags? Just for home ice advantage?
Tampon bay and The Glorious Habs round one is a lock just who gets home ice and that would be nice but I don't think the rags will beat the dolts So bring on the tampon bay dolts c/w Cooper Cool and doucherov, Powerhorses play thing and the beaners can do battle with barfalo I like the matchups GGH
Congrats to the three ladies on winning their seats last night.
Until PP accepts the fact that he lost his seat and the election, that party is going nowhere.
As we have it now we have a far right party, the NDP with a far left leader and our PM, who is partly old school PC with Liberal tendencies. So a Centrist. Exactly what we need right now. Let's see what he does with a majority.
I don't know what it's like where you guys live, but here in N.B. many people are struggling to buy food and pay electrical bills. Many are using food banks to survive. I was looking at the standings, feeling a bit sorry for the Canucks and their fans (I have lots of friends from BC) finishing up with 58 points (I can't imagine they beat the Oil who need at least a point to ensure they get home ice and don't actually fall to the 2nd wild card and face Colorado, which would happen if they lose in regulation and Anaheim and the Kings win)...anyway then I remembered it was only 4 seasons ago the Habs finished with 55 points. 55!
The Canucks and Leaf will never admit it, but they must look at what the Habs did in four short years and have to think that is a smart model to follow. Right?
