honestly... i cant say anything bad about him. guy like that, fight so hard to get where he is, they game he plays, the chip on his shoulder... its the kind of grease we dont have enough of. your opponents hate him, your teammates love him. ide shake his hand
Well well well, paging Mr. Bettman ... there is still a Canadian team in your USAHL league.
OK, so I checked out and I was watching a Star Trek doc when Mrs. TheM came in and said "you better put the game on" so I got to see the last 40 seconds.
Great job lads, that was probably the hardest test for this young team. Buffalo will be a challenge and it should be another close series. I probably won't be too upset if they lose to a young Sabres team, They aren't doucherovbags at least.
Gotta admit - after a shotless 2nd period I called it a night...wonderful to wake up to Round 2. This Habs team is something special. Buffalo should be an interesting ride but man oh man - they gotta take a few more shots on goal. From wherever instead of the fancy perfect pass attempts. As always - just fucking win!
The current Montreal Canadiens, wonderful to watch, drafted and traded for Nick Suzuki, Cole Caufield, Kaiden Guhle, Juraj Slafkovsky, Ivan Demidov, Lane Hutson and Jakub Dobes in a six-year period. This stuff doesn’t build overnight.
Under Pelley, the Leafs want Chayka and Sundin to suck and blow.
Yes We are blessed with two spectacular dumpster fires The leaf and murica Never has there been such ongoing reality shows of two organizations crashing and burning before our very eyes The leaf have hired a murky slimer who has been run out of one town already and that lying orange rapist continues his ongoing dismantling of what's left of murica And the leaf just to put a shine on what they've done they rolled out old fat bald mats Such deep thinking by blue specs And just to make sure everyone in the armpit will bask in the shear competence of all involved they're gonna bring in captain underpants as part of the clueless gang of 4 Hilarity hilarity Omg The only thing that even remotely compares is watching the orange rapist lie and lie and lie It's spectacular in the volume and scope of the shitstorm across the border At least barfalo knows how to sing our O Canada It's gonna be a good one folks GGH
There you go! Missed saying this on May the fourth, but after putting the Bolts to bed, it's clear that this battleship is fully operational.
Okay, well I just listened to Aaron Ward from Mitch Melnick's show yesterday that the boys stayed in Tampa to soak up some Florida sun instead of coming home and getting distracted "out of the playoff bubble." They'll go straight to Buffalo today and get focussed again. Which makes me feel even better about the CH chances against the Sabres. Last time we met them in the playoffs I think RecCHi was our de facto leader and I was studiously avooding learning anything about the OJ Simpaon trial raging at the time. I think it was the third round and I think Buffalo Hasek'ed us.
Well now the CH is the team with the Czech goalie. We'll see how this one goes. I can't wait to see who gets to try and deal with Tage Thompson.
Meanwhile the Whalers have already jumped to a 2-0 lead and should use up all Freddie Andersen's newfound mojo by the time they get to the conferencr finals.
Time to get dirty and down. https://youtu.be/daBDrGmRe6I
2 young, fast teams. One of them will be in the eastern final, almost certainly facing the Whalers in an Adams Division classic. Ya-fucking-hoo! LFG!
OldKidG (or OG as we should now call him) turns 34 tomorrow on the first game of round 2. I can see a crease-crashing birthday goal coming his way in his 7 minutes of ice time. The other old guy, Phil 'Pizzaz' Danault was born a year later on Feb 24, 1993, three days before my oldest was born. On Feb 26 and 27, 1993, the Habs played home and home games vs the Sabres, (which I did not see because of the aforementioned birth event...I remember that like it was yesterday...I wasn't 24 yet and didn't know what the hell I was doing). Anyway, the Habs won those games by a score of 6-4 and 8-4. Come playoff time, they would go on to sweep the Sabres in round 2.
This year they are a bit more evenly matched. They each won 2 games vs the other. Each win was by 2 goals. I don't know that Buffalo have a line that can shut down the NiColSky line like TB did. I reckon not and we should see more offence from that group. But I also think we got some mojo from the old guys mentioned above. And more Dobe$.
I think Montreal has the advantage in net. Dobes got better every game against the dolts. I see no reason why that won't continue. Hopefully, the first and second lines will get unshackled a bit more.
@Saint Paddy, played my first round today, tough conditions, 50-60km per hour winds all day almost always in your face. Managed an 86 from the senior tees.
I'm heading out for my first full 18 on Friday. A difficult, long course. I don't expect great results but I enjoy the process nonetheless.
What I really need to do is practice my 20 yards and under chipping. Been chopping/blading those rather than following through and getting it up in the air. Practice swings feel great, then...chunk!
Montreal Canadiens forward Ivan Demidov, New York Islanders defenceman Matthew Schaefer, and Anaheim Ducks forward Beckett Sennecke are the finalists for the Calder Memorial Trophy, the league announced on Tuesday.
i went to the canucks draft lotto watch party: https://www.instagram.com/p/DX2lWnyga9E/?igsh=aWdlMDUwNDl0dXIz
for all the trashing i do on the cuck army, it was nice to see the true diehards show up for this, (wearing their colours in public as well). i also gotta give lotsa credit to the canucks for putting this on.
one of their hot dog stands was open selling everything for $5. the beer stand was also $5/ea. they were even giving away free popcorn and sodas were $3/ea.
definitely not the same as u guys with your molson center watch parties, but at least 500 or so in attendence for this.
although we all hate the leaves... it kinda makes sense this would happen. the canucks greatest "captain" just getting hired and now getting a cheat code to start things off the day after everybody else were crowing them clowns.
kinda sad, this guy had his sights set like this, https://www.instagram.com/p/DUB2IxPkn_D/?igsh=MTE5YjBzaGY2ZWIzNg==

Not even a first overall pick will fix that outfit. Didn't help Montreal right away. Didn't help San Jose. Didn't help Chicago. Those two are still bottom feeders. The leaf will still be bottom 5 next season.
Leaf get no 1 Was there ever any doubt. Now the toronto sports network is splooging all over themselves. It's literally dripping off them. They have almost forgotten that other teams are actually playing hockey. So they get gavin the savior, just like chicago got connor the savior. So instant success right? Onwards to the cup right. pheeeeettt The dumpster fire continues. GGH
I have tickets to see Billy Bragg on June 17th. So I expect the Habs to be in a cup clinching game on that date. You're welcome.
And I can't skip on Mrs Pad, she's still mad that I skipped on going to see Donovan in 1992 because I had a slo-pitch playoff game that my team needed me for.
Swallow it ...
ReplyDeleteFuck you hagel, you fucking piece of 💩 !
ReplyDeleteCooper, hagel, douche, gourde... so glad to see the last of those crybaby, mocking, showboating classless assholes.

My series top 5 …
ReplyDeleteDobes
Hutson
Suzuki
Ghule
Danault
Agreed, honorary mention to Anderson, he kept the dolts heads on a swivel all series.
Delete👍🏻
Delete… and MSL.
DeleteGoodnight Hagel. Shhhhh.
ReplyDeleteI hate everything Toronto but tuned into the Raptors game and hear the idiot crowd chanting USA.
ReplyDeleteSo...go Raps I guess. F those effers.
Cooper should’ve played Suzuki more at the Olympics.
ReplyDeleteMSL should be coach in 2030 and play him lots.
DeleteJesus...2030...
Reminding myself that gag-non picked tampa and didn’t vote for Suzuki for the Selke.
ReplyDeletePiece of old 💩 séparatiste motherfucker.
If they can score at the same 22% clip every game, it should be a walk to a cup win.
ReplyDeleteI could listen to MSL post game scrums for hours.
ReplyDeletePure hockey intelligence. Of the charts smart.
Not a single point in this series for the upcoming Hart winner.
ReplyDeleteHave a nice warm beer in that shithole state you live in.
Heh, I saw it referred to as DeSantisstan...
DeleteAppropriate.

ReplyDeleteThx Cleveland
ReplyDeleteNot to soon to see a team of destiny
ReplyDeleteRound 1 didn't go so well. I got 6 points out of a possible 16 (1 for the team, 1 for the # of games).
ReplyDeletePicking Habs in 7.
Whalers in 5
Avs in 6
Kuh-niggits in 6.
I loaded up on Habs and Avs in my playoff pool. They all move on. I lost 3 Pens, 2 Stars, one Turd and the Oil goalie. Still in decent shape.
DeleteI agree with all your picks.
DeleteI get the impression the Toronto media aka the sfu are not enamored with the Chayka hiring. Should be lots of fun reading in the days ahead.
ReplyDeletePizza Phil is back!
ReplyDeleteI'll bet leafNet is secretly happy that Montreal is in the second round, has to be a boost to their ratings.
“ NHL cleared new Leafs GM John Chakya of tampering charge”

(as in when your kid did a boom boom in his diaper)
It's just my gut feeling but this hire is not going to end well.
ReplyDeleteIt's going to be spectacular to watch.
Yes
ReplyDeleteWe are blessed with two spectacular dumpster fires
The leaf and murica
Never has there been such ongoing reality shows of two organizations crashing and burning before our very eyes
The leaf have hired a murky slimer who has been run out of one town already and that lying orange rapist continues his ongoing dismantling of what's left of murica
And the leaf just to put a shine on what they've done they rolled out old fat bald mats
Such deep thinking by blue specs
And just to make sure everyone in the armpit will bask in the shear competence of all involved they're gonna bring in captain underpants as part of the clueless gang of 4
Hilarity hilarity
Omg
The only thing that even remotely compares is watching the orange rapist lie and lie and lie
It's spectacular in the volume and scope of the shitstorm across the border
At least barfalo knows how to sing our O Canada
It's gonna be a good one folks
GGH
