  3. I like Steve's thinking...which is a pretty scary thought...sometimes needs must. Just fucking win. Just fucking shoot the fucking puck. JFSTFP!

  4. Breaking News, Habs a have just signed Shelby Keaton. Supposedly Dynomite in the Room.

  5. Looks like no changes to the lines. Have to trust then that Marty made adjustments to their style of play, otherwise it'll be another tough one to watch, win or lose.

  6. Nature will open the scoring tonight.

  7. I expect Gainey tonight. Or Ryan Walter.

  8. OMG I agree with McLame on something - Wolf Parade's Hearts on Fire is a great song.

Strumbellas must've recorded at LEAST one other fucking song than that, meanwhile, no?

    2. On his 25th birthday. He was born exactly one year after #9 died. That's some Twilight Zone shit right there.

      Now GYFG4ofR3HG!!!

  11. Did not see that coming.
Hopefully they give us a few more surprises tonight...like 20+ shots on goal.

  12. Shoot the puck and take a few heads, the penalties will be worth it.

    1. Selective, as usual. Does Bettman determine their bonuses or what?

  14. Even though that call on Chatfield was well deserved I kinda feel sorry for him considering how completely divorced from any logic this reffong has been this series.

    Cash it!

  20. Silver lining...an earlier bedtime tonight.

    ReplyDelete
  21. This is partly on Marty. Changes and fresher legs were clearly needed following the last 2 games. But I understand too his unwillingness to look desperate by making those changes, or putting guys in that haven't played.

    ReplyDelete
  22. I only saw the first goal and turned it off.
This is like the Halak Spring of 2010.
    They are out of gas.
    It's been a good run.
It's not their time yet but getting closer.

    Game needed Ax

  27. If you're gonna take these penalties, make it worth it and hurt them good.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Now that's a great kill!

  29. Anonymous9:54 PM

Still respect ehlers, didn’t think so.

  30. So nice of Carolina to not even throw 1 jab during all that stuff. Such angels.

  31. I see over on Bluesky that Legault and PP are at the game supporting the Habs.

    Well done horse.

    ReplyDelete
  35. From the moment Carolina scored the games first goal (on the PP) they were perfect saints the rest of the way. Five PP opportunities (all uncashed, mind) for Canes vs. 0 for Habs from that point.

  36. Putting a positive spin on it, this series should help them identify/clarify their needs for next season.

  38. I don't know what Powerhorse did last night but I have always advocated for giving him an extension.
You need players like him. They could use another couple actually.
A few more tweaks and some more maturity, they are close.

ÒK, applying some math here, let’s say they have a 1 in 4 chance of winning each of the next three games. Given they have won 1 out of 4 games so far in the series, That seems reasonable. So their chances of winning the series are (1/4)^3 or about 1.6%. So I’m saying, there’s a chance!

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. They have a 1.6% chance of winning game 5. But then they will have won 40% of the games with 2 games remaining, so 40% chance of a 40% chance to win game 6, so a 16% chance, then game 7 is a 50/50 tossup! Easy! I don't think math maths like that but it's my math so it is so.
Just gotta get over this very unlikely game 5 win. At 1.6% the betting odds should be fantastic...if only there was a program that kept harping on about gambling where we could find out this information.

    2. I would not be surprised to see them win on the road then come back and lose at home.
Just the way it's been going.

  44. RE: Freddie Andersen. I don't know what it does to a guy to see his agent getting fetted in the opposing team's rink - even wearing their sweater - one night, seemingly over the moon, only to learn he decided to pack it in just two days later. I don't know. If I were his boss, I'd give him some time off and let my other goalie start tonight's game.

  45. FHFriend J.T. wrote a nice piece about Claude Lemieux at her blog Habsloyalist.
Maybe Claude can reach down tonight and give his Habs a helping hand.
Doobie has to pitch a no-hitter for them to have a chance.
Keep'er going for another day guys!

    GO Habs GO!!!
