If you Google image search "hot teacher", many many FHF results pop up. So this is a rerun I guess. |
Ooh boy. The two other best teams (maybe) in the East are the Pens and the Bs. Though the Pens have already lost 8 games so I'm not sure they even belong in the conversation. HOWEVER, still, it's a killer weekend, as we play both of them. It's not just a test, it's a Bar exam, Nuclear Physics final, and blind man's driving test while high all rolled into one. Let's hope for a passing grade.
Nervously waiting to get into the room - 7 PM from the Bell Centre (for the last time in a while). On the full CBC only because the Laff aren't playing, and other outlets. Habs hot, Pens not; 7-1-2 vs. 5-5-0 in their last 10.
Well ahead of the bell curve - PatCHes!! 6-4-10 in his last 7 games, and is now our leading scorer. Technically, CCRyder is our 2nd leading scorer. The Pens' leading scorer however has twice as many points as ours (Sid, obvs).
Looking at a D or an F - No one's really failing for the Habs lately I guess. The Pens' goalies are pretty crappy right now, but as soon as I write that, I'm sure I've jinxed Fleury to a 40-save shutout. Sorry.
He don't need no stinkin' CHeat sheet - CoaCH MT2.0 for the first time faces the team that sacked him en route to the Stanley Cup in 2009. Seven guys from that team are still on the Pens. Inside info!
Seeing blurry from staring at the books too long - Concussion mania! Malkin, RBQ, and Diazling all have headaches. Hey, remember Nokia? He actually skated yesterday.
Post-exam adult entertainment - you're going home to masturbate and then crash because you're exhausted from pulling an all-nighter to study on Adderall.

All the pics in our photo array for tonight's game come courtesy Anna Galchenyuk's Instagram which I recently came across and went through like your average stalker. She's fun.
A is for awesome!
ReplyDeleteBitchin' preview. Let's see, Guinness - check, Harp - check, Garrison Red Lager - check, Dewar's White Label - check. Good to go.
ReplyDeleteG Y F H G!!!!!!
The M,
DeleteYou might wanna slip a morsel of food in that repertoire. Just sayin.
@Moey, not to worry, this old dog learned that trick a long time ago. It's also good to drink a large glass of water somewhere in the midst of all that booze. I want to stay conscious until the end of the game. Maybe.
DeleteMONTREAL, QUE - Montreal Canadiens and Hamilton Bulldogs General Manager Marc Bergevin announced today that the Canadiens have recalled forward Gabriel Dumont from the Bulldogs.
ReplyDeleteSpare forward...they have none with RBQ concussed. Guess Lebrow isn't as high on the depth chart.
DeleteWonder if juce's Staubitz rumour as any truth to it. CHarger could use the help.
Pre-drinking here in Korea! Wooo! Saturday night alone at home (hey, I've been skyping...and I'm old now). Hope to wake up early tomorrow, but right now I'm enjoying Daft Punk and whiskey too much to make it an early night. 3rd period is about 11am for me, should be able to pull that off at least. Hope MAF is playing, he's the only French Canadian goalie that can't seem to dominate in Montreal. GO HABS GO!
ReplyDeleteBy the by, I realize I totally seem like a bandwagon fan since I said this team wasn't very good a few weeks ago. I still think they're too soft (hey, it's a reality when you're playing goons) but guys are starting to step up and I'm excited. I'm always hardest on those I love. You should see me with my students.
ReplyDelete@Orange, I was so pissed off at them - not the leaf fiasco but blowing the 3 goal lead in Tampa the next game (even though they won) - I refused to watch the next two games. I'm never on the bandwagon, I always run along side with a firm grip on the side boards just in case I want to make the leap aboard. I'm still hesitant because I don't quite trust MT2.0 and am waiting for the wheels to fall off.
DeleteThe win over the cbc darlings Wednesday night was impressive though. I'm still giddy about it. I'm hoping for a win tonight and will accept a loss to the shit stained beaners tomorrow. That's a tough ending to a back to back.
Go Habs Go!!!
What win on Wednesday? All I heard about was a faceoff draw? And, hey, did you know Fraser leads the league in +/-?
DeleteI don't recognize any bandwagon. I'm on my own starship, it travels through paths of February Cup parades down Yonge street and illegal hits as 'hockey plays'. We have our enemies like the Klingons (broons), Ferengie (leaf) and Borg (CoTU mediots) but for the most part everyone wants to be us.
Excellent comparisons re: enemies of the Habs. CotU mediots are like the Borg....single minded in their worship of all things leaf. So who would you compare the Romulans to? The devils (pointy ears)?
DeleteYou know, I've put a lot of thought into this as I wrote it. Borg as CoTU was obvious (living in Ontario, I often thought resistance was futile) the Ferengi as the leaf (gutless and only in it for the money) was also apt. Klingons as the brutish and uncultured bruin is good, though I don't know how to reconcile their later alliance with the good guys but maybe it's because compared to them we really do come off as the class act.
DeleteI thought about the Romulans. A smart, cunning foe. I almost went with the Avalanche, their distant kinship with the the Vulcans standing in for our relationship with the Nordiques. They were pretty stealth by dealing problematic Lindros for players that would win them the Cup eventually. But we just don't have that level of interaction with them to work. Perhaps the Sens? No one ever thinks of them until they uncloak suddenly on your bow, throwing torpedoes at you. Then, just as suddenly they cloak again and retreat to the Neutral zone (Capital Region) to quietly build their offence again.
What's clear is that Tampa is Risa, where all Starfleet officers (Quebec hockey players) go for holiday, only to end up being used by some nefarious plot.

DeleteAnd I don't think you can ever call any Hab fan that grew up in Ontario bandwagon.
ReplyDeleteOk, now I'm making up scenerios in my head and posting ranting posts back to back. Who am I, Steve?
The point is GO HABS GO! STAB THOSE FLIGHTLESS BIRDS IN THE DICK!
steve needs a break every now and then, it's good
DeleteThere will be no stabbing of Tenessee Tuxedo in the dick. He's cute.
Deleteyes, when others describe the universe we live in it takes a burden off my shoulders/

DeleteI'm pretty sure MT2.0 will have them well prepared for this test, afterall, it's a thing of pride for him and he likely has $ on this too.
ReplyDeleteNice work, 29.
If I remember correctly, Sid doesn't do well at the Bell Centre, MT2 has the inside scoop and will keep it that way
CCRyder had some practice time so that's a plus.
I would have liked to play broons first but it is what it is.
Go Habs Go!! Go Habs Go!! Go Habs Go!! Go Habs Go!! Go Habs Go!! Go Habs Go!! Go Habs Go!!
Any baseball fans? Netherlands beats Korea 5-0 in the opening of the World Baseball Classic. Not completely shocking, the Dutch are defending world champs, and ranked around Canada (5-10th ish). But the Koreans are defending Olympic champs and WBC runners up. I would like to congratulate my fellow Oranjemen on their victory. And laugh in the faces of my fellow Korean workmates on their loss (if it was socially acceptable).
ReplyDeleteBrazil also gave Japan a scare. Baseball is spreading! Maybe it'll be back in the Olympics one day, though I don't know if there's enough room what with synchronized swimming and modern pentathlon. Lord knows wrestling didn't stand a chance, even though IT'S MENTIONED RIGHT THERE FIRST LINE OF THE SECOND VERSE OF THE OLYMPIC ANTHEM.
But I digress.
Haven't followed baseball since we lost the Expos.
DeleteMe neither. Fuckface Selig killed my interest.
DeleteYeah, I don't follow the MLB too much. But I do still enjoy the sport. I actually played it growing up. Hitting thing with a club was much easier than skating on thin pieces of metal. But, as the wise Homer Simpson once said: "I never realized how boring baseball was without beer!"

ReplyDeleteLET'S GET THIS SHOW ON THE ROAD ALREADY
ReplyDelete/ checks time
uh oh, i've peaked too early
Looking forward to the game tonight - hoping my stream is not lagging again as I would hate to have to switch to leafbc. Go Habs go! Go Habs Go! Go Habs Go!!! Go Habs Go!!! Go Habs Go!!!!
ReplyDeleteOkay folks, now for the important stuff. What's on the menu tonight? I"m making lasagna.
ReplyDeleteJust finished a nice beef stew I made with sweet potatoes, carrots and.....dumplings.
DeleteMrs. Maritimer said it was the best and I will be rewarded later. Hope I'm sober when it happens.
M'mmmm dumplings, haven't had those in ages. My mum used to make them, great comfort food.
DeleteI've got some oven-baked BBQ chicken thighs going and my lemon thyme roasted potatoes will be joining in the oven very soon
DeleteLemon thyme roasted spuds. Nice.
DeleteMoey they are part of my "sounds impressive but in truth really fucking easy" repertoire. But they are admittedly delsh
DeleteLet's see, flu symptoms suck, Tylenol Cold's pack a punch. Oh look, tomato chicken rice soup.
DeleteLooks like Moe is on the wagon tonight. And not talking about the Habs bandwagon.
Deleteget better moe!
DeleteSomeone get me a nurse.
DeleteComing! Bringing my world famous homemade turkey soup. I keep a batch in the freezer during flu season.
DeleteHWY 50 is now 100% completed.
DeleteMy cousin from Ottawa is over here on business so I took him to the only Canadian pub in London - sadly called the Maple Leaf - apart from the name it is a pretty good pub. It is Maple Leaf for the country rather than the highly vulgar plural form of the word - it is a sports. Bar and they were showing a pvr'd washington - philly game from wednesday night - on the menu was that great Canadian classic - gammon eggs and chips with a pint of Sleeman Pale Ale on draught. So I'm now in the mood for some hockey!
DeleteGo Habs Go!! Go Habs Go!
I've been there KmaXXX, good place.
DeleteHigh blood alchool kills flu bugs/
DeleteDay+NyQuil.
DeleteI'm not much of a fashionista but Andi Petrillo looks pretty sharp tonight in that minidress and those high heel boots.
ReplyDeleteAnd they announce that bob fucking cold is calling the game tonight.
oh cmon why the fuck is Habs-Pens, national game, getting Cold??? FFS. RDS it is
DeleteWait a minute, so the Bs had to play back to back too, but they get to play an afternoon game (1 PM no less, not even 3) and both their games are in Boston? FOR FUCKS SAKE. Why don't you just hand them the chalice now you NHL fuckers
ReplyDeleteLet me guess, pigface boy scored the winner.
DeleteAll I know the Bs got a 4 minute PP late in the game that led to the game winner
DeleteI thought collie retired.
DeleteMontgomery C. Burns (aka) Jacobs has a long reach and is fucking evil. Instigated the lockout and will win the cup.
DeleteWow, someone must've really pissed off Alfie. A misconduct?
ReplyDeleteThe Gallys sitting in their hotel room in Florida on 24CH on RDS is fucking hysterical
ReplyDeleteCHantal's English is really getting good
ReplyDeleteI stand corrected. She killed the CHrosby interview, but is blowing the CCR interview
DeletePicturing her in a nurse's outfit.
DeleteVokoun not MAF playing. Interesting, though understandable
ReplyDeleteI am seeing a four point night for KaKa.
ReplyDeleteGO HABS GO
MAF = sieve.
ReplyDeleteIf I have to watch a thousand Silverado commercials on the CBC website I am going to start saying bad stuff about the current Goverment of Canada.
ReplyDeleteI am not kidding, I got the Punjabi feed again.
Deleteha!
Deletelet me just check the archives for all those good things you've been saying about them since Harper got his majority
that Punjabi feed always cracks me up. I find it fun to watch for some reason
DeleteI just wonder who this superstar called Jason Kenny they are always talking about plays for.
DeleteHow are these sick fucks ever nominated for anything of value?
ReplyDeleteOn ice first line; Plekanec, Prust, Gionta, Emelin, Markov et Price.
ReplyDeleteWho thinks the Hockey night in Canada was a way better way to start the game than this melechony music video crap they keep pushing.
ReplyDeleteits cold in Montreal in the winter, is not Bob Dylan just saying
DeleteSydney says Montreal is stripperific and MAB says I will go early and get a table.
ReplyDeleteMAF can afford champagne.
DeleteOK, got the Guinness going.
ReplyDeleteGo another Sleeman variety 24 today. working my way through. I'll be down to a 12 by the end of the game
Delete29 nurses his beer.

DeleteNot a word about the habs on coach's corner. shocker. Lots about future hall of famer & hart winner kadri though. No other player has suffered like him. PK might disagree.

ReplyDeleteI had already pulled TFS
DeleteMy thoughts exactly. They can really make someone bipolar sometimes.
DeleteWhat an outstanding way to end that period...I was going to call it a night...might just stick around for this!!
ReplyDeleteGo Habs Go!!
Start a PFK!tracker, he has as many goals as kessel.

ReplyDeleteThanks! It's still lagging every now and again, though. I'm thinking it's my internet. When I moved into this place the last guy cancelled his service, but someone forgot to flip a switch cause for a year I kept getting it for free. But last summer there was an issue so I had to call and actually get it hooked up on my account. Ever since I started paying there have been issues and delays. But, yeah, thanks anyways!
