There is some serious sexiness in this thread. From Raquel to that Mach 1 'Stang, the nice young ladies in various states of undress and all those delicious loser leaf images. Twitter has some great cheap shot material. Apparently, according to the leaf coach, the leaf got more respect in the handshake line than they did last year. Sounds to me like he is the one doing the disrespecting. Fuck him, fuck his lousy team and their stupid, arrogant fans.
1. Guys you played an incredible low-score game! 👏🏻😀 Hold your heads high!!! You did us all proud!Thank you for a thrilling, nail-biting season! Amazing effort! 👍🏻 There’s always next year AND you have another voice added to Leafs Nation cheers!!!! 💙
2. They had a great season. Too bad about the loss. Leafs provided some great times this year and that top 6 did have a better playoff. Hope we all agree, the leafs were the better team in this series. Tampa however is the better shutdown team when it counted.
3. What about all the wonderful achievement? Didn’t they make the playoffs? Yes? Can you say thank you for all their efforts?
Leafs elimination day. The day all the talk in Toronto changes to baseball. It should be a national holiday for farting TO creating green energy that we need someone to capture.
Absolutely agree! Mrs Pad and I are really enjoying it. It's (so far) good old fashioned Star Trek storytelling. I hope they stay on that track (er, trek) and don't boldly go where so many TV series have gone before and make it all weird with some big over-arching back story (i.e. X-Files).
Yes, hopefully they stick with the one and done stories although the 'back story' seems to be Pike seeing his own future. If I recall correctly, at the end of 'The Menagerie' he ended up back on the forbidden planet with the girl he met there. I wonder if they will deviate from that?
I wonder if Sid would like to finish his career in Montreal, his childhood favourite team? Move Webers contract to Arizona, Carey goes on LTIR, Dish moves on, Byron traded. Now they have lots of cap space. Sid, Nature and Wright down the middle, find a goalie and suddenly the SFU are nervous about the Habs. Maybe Letang takes a discount, JEd, Tsar, Zombie, Northlander, Harris, not a bad D.
Seeing lots of questions about both Letang and Bergeron. As much as it would be nice to see any of these guys in the CH, I just don't see it. MAYBE Letang if the price is right.
I agree. Maybe one of those guys on a one or two year contract, but even that seems far-fetchted unless some magic can be done to escape some of these Cap-horrible contracts (Army, LB, Druid, Lep, BBQ, Perreault, Savard). But the interest on the players' parts is also probably low.
Best pic I saw on the internet, somebody altered a picture of the leaf banners in whatever shitty rink they play in these days, and added a "MOST RESPECTED IN HANDSHAKE LINEUP - 2022" banner. That's damn funny.
I got 7 of 8 series correct. Missed on the Wild/Blues. And I got 3 series lengths correct, Avs in 4, Cats in 6, Canes in 7.
And I am in 49,583rd place on the NHL.com bracket challenge. 16 people picked all series' correct and 7 of 8 series lengths. The few I checked, none of them had the Avs in 4, so I'll always have that over them.
In lieu of the fact oil extraction is (or should be) winding down, and the lateness of their gamestarts, I hereby rename them the Edmonton Midnight Oils. And I wish them well. Only the Strong!
Bergeron will not sign with Montreal, not after being a lifetime Bruin and I don't blame him. Same as Gorgeous refusing to become a fucking leaf. Letang is a possibility, but yeah, no long term deal there. The Habs should be patient with their young D.
Sham-a-ham says Boy Wonder and Keefer ain't going nowhere and neither are any of the cap killing foursome. Good, that ensures the losing will continue. I guess ml$e are OK with regular season glory. Also, that means Narcos can keep hanging out with Beebs.
Shanaban was clear There is no need to change anything Everything is just fine We’ll cept for the six first round eliminations Course that’s an anomaly Cause everyone knows the leaves are the superior team Sure Go Habs
I shared this on Twitter yesterday because the world needs to know. The Leafs Last.Cup posted it has been 20,106 days. Coincidentally that is the same amount of days between the sinking of the Titanic and the Leafs last cup. So as of today (May 19), their last cup is officially closer to the Titanic sinking than present day.
Hope moe and anyone else in affected regions didn't fare too badly in yesterday's storms. I was in Sherbrooke and it was strong but not too fierce there.
All good for me. It was intense. A couple downed small trees and fences on my block. Friends in Ottawa fared way worse. Still no power, big trees down, telephone poles down, chunks of roofs gone and an entire church steeple ripped apart.
I am all in on Shane Wright. I am confident the Dynamic Duo are as well. A #1 center is available to you, you take it. Don't over think it. All these internet GMs and scout wannabees are full of shite. I don't even pay attention to those idiots anymore.
Not that anyone here gives a shit but the wretched leaf signed ancient defenceman Mark Giordano to a 2 year extension worth peanuts but someone posted in addition he will receive .... and autographed man purse by Biebs. Too funny!
Also, looks like Jumbo Joe will be going home empty handed again. The leaf stench has cursed him for life. Maybe he will sign with Tampa in the off season for another kick at the can.
He must've watched Doobie's press conference where he said he was proud of the progress the team made this year. You know...getting respected in the handshake lineup. I mean, who wouldn't want to strive for that again?
Strange move by the M's Seadogs, firing their coach in advance of the Memorial Cup. Can't go wrong with the Red Devils guy as a replacement I suppose. Maybe they'll hire Dom for next season.
WOW! I did not know that until just now. I don't look at tsn much anymore and there is nothing on the Sea Dogs site. So, you're saying Gardiner MacDougall is taking over? That's crazy news as well.
Yup, Saint Paddy is on the mark again, MacDougall named interim coach for the Memorial Cup and they are bringing in former Saint John Flame Rocky Thompson, who won the Cup as head coach of Windsor in 2017, in an advisory role. Scott McCain is pulling out all the stops to win a championship again.

They really are delusional.

ReplyDeleteI don't mind the Rags moving on despite the PoS Cry-der. I still like Gerard Gallant. I hope they beat the despicable Dumbdon Windbags.
ReplyDelete@Saint Paddy, after onlt two episodes I am ready to declare Star Trek, Strange New Worlds as THE best series since The Original Series. Wow, just wow.

ReplyDeleteI saw that. It was terrific, the annual leaf participation medal...
DeleteMost respected handshake says I am going to kill you
DeleteOh and 13 year old St Pad thanks moe for the Phoebe Cates pic. Great memory.
ReplyDeleteMoeman, this is a happy, sexy, Schadenfreude thread if I ever saw one. Love it!
ReplyDeleteI see all my first-round predictions came through except for the Wild and Kings, which is wild.
Next:
Canes in 5
Panthers in 7
Oils in 7
Avs in 5

ReplyDeleteMitch Marner must have hit the gym before his press conference. He looked jacked.
ReplyDeleteToo soon?

Saw a sign at a church on the way home. "If Leaf fans have faith that there's always next year, you can have faith too. Service Sunday at 10."

ReplyDeleteSeems appropriate.
DeleteAccording to my sources, Toronto Media, the Leaf farm club makes the Bergy farm club look the Detroit in their prime. No Future for the leaf

DeleteThe only progress made was the realization Gchuck wasn't helping their chances.
DeleteLeaf continue to be the best team not in the playoffs anymore
DeleteSo Chill is called up by the Blues cuz Binnington is out for the series. Strange how things go.
ReplyDeleteIs the Jackal a victim of his nickname? It was less Kreider than Kreider but guilty as charged.
