Yikes! I just found out #91 is the Mexican'ts old number before he switched to #11 (shudder). Does that mean that Monahan will dangle through center ice, enter the o-zone, put the brakes on and wait for a) a late trailer or, b) an opposing player to take the puck from him? Didn't Gomez go more than a calendar year between goals one time?

C'mon Sean, there have to better numbers than that...

    2. Hah! Well then I guess 91'll due him until the Mexicant jersey's retired at least. There won't be a dry eye in the place

As I remember it the Mexicant did not cross the blue line for a whole season. He was a great puck mover and good in the room though.
DEVO stock is falling, only worth a third now.

That Dvo article was bullshit. If some GM called Kent Hughes with that offer, KH would laugh and hang up! I'm not worried about what Hughes is doing it has been nothing but positive from Day One.

  5. Just listened to the CBC news interview with an anonymous player, whose voice was altered to deter his identity from being known. He described being witness to a video of the 2003 Hockey Canada team wherein two of about six players were taking turns raping an unconscious young woman or girl. The stink in that gang is too high. These are criminal acts that have covered up and normalized by Hockey Canada. The whole thing needs to be destroyed and replaced with new leadership that instills respect for women, BIPOC and just normal fucking decency.

There were two in the vid who went on to have NHL careers. The stars from that team need to come forward with what they know if they really want a future for the sport that is their passion and given them so much.

I'm talking to you, Matt Stajan, Joffrey Lupul, Kyle Wellwood, Derek Roy, Scottie Upshall, Jordin Tootoo, Marc-Andre Fleury, Brooks Laich and yes, one-time Hab, P-A Parenteau, among others.

    Shame

  7. Agree Hockey Canada needs to put them all out. Start fresh. Charge the culprits.

How do they fire themselves? I would think Sports Canada would have to be the ones to do it.

All the players involved have to be identified and charged. You can't just sweep this shite under the rug. I couldn't bring myself to watch any of the latest tournament and doubt I will watch any Team Canada events going forward until this is resolved.

JFK was shot, the twin towers fell and dont get me started on Operation Highjump. The people in charge never get caught.

  9. Watching the final round of the golf playoffs. It's a weird setup they have where the top ranked player gets a lead on the other 29 golfers. And after a couple rounds it looked like he was using that to his advantage and was running away with it. Now here we are with five holes to go and Rory has roared back and they're tied.

Meh what's the difference if you finish first or second you may ask? The answer, and these guys will say "it's not about the money"...but it's about the money. The difference is $11.5m. $18m for first. A piddly $6.5m for 2nd.
Our lone Canuck finished 26th and will have to scrape by with a $540k cheque this week. This is the sport I wish I was good enough to do for a living. Hardly ever is there somebody trying to basically kill you while doing your job.

McIlroy's birdie putt on 15 and par putt on 16 won the day for him. Clutch. Big money to be had. I get nervous when I'm playing for a twoonie. Ha!
