  4. I'm planning on watching the 1st period, I might get through the second but I have it set to record. So I'll be out before the end.

    ReplyDelete
  5. I shouldn't watch more than 1, but if it's going well I'll stick with it as long as I can.
Also, NS plays Ontario for the final playoff spot at the Brier. That one starts at 1030. Damn west coast games...

  6. Bruins, Flyers and Red Wings all lost in reg. time. Panthers up 2-0 on BJs with less than 4 min. left in the third.

Meanwhile I was posting in the wrong thread wondering where everyone was...

  10. Damn.
Hung in there but ultimately got 3 guys McDavid watching while he slid it to the wide open guy.

  11. I thought the Habs had the better of the play most of the game. The Oilers don't look like contenders to me.

That and a severe lack of depth behind their 2 superstars.

  12. Congrats to Hondacivic on getting paid. One of Hughes' few mistakes so far was letting him go and hanging on to Barron...but it worked out with the fleecing of Trotz for RoCH Carriere.

  13. Cozens to the Sens. More that what I would have wanted to give up for him if you look at equivalent players on the Habs that the Sends gave up. Also, I'm on record as not a fan, so...I'm good.

    ReplyDelete
  14. I think l'affaire Rantanen was a major fuckup by him and his agent. Mikko could have stayed in Colorado with Nate for that money. Colorado even stated they would have paid him similar to Nate.

Don’t know if the Snores trade makes sense but they got bobdylan so good for them
And did I read the leaf gave up two first rounders for the filthy C?
If so they have never been in a win now like this
    Wow

I know he’s “ generational” but there’s not much surrounding him to be all he can be
He’d look good at our place with our gang of younglings and we could flip some picks their way

I agree that it is long odds for the sfu-loved leaf but i hope for the best that they go out in round one (versus the Habs ?)

    2. I can't decide which would be sweeter.
Taking the leaf out in the first round or the Habs going through the Metro division and taking the leaf out in the conference final. Coming back from 3-1 down of course.
Which version would cause the SFU the most grief? That's the one I'd want.

    4. Heh heh you guys are funny.

Brian Wilde pointed out that all the teams the Habs are duking it out with for a wild card spot did nothing either today other than Ottawa and that's probably a wash. I think with all their injuries NJ are not a lock anymore either. There is an opening for the Habs but they will have to stay hot to get in.

Anyone else happy that two of the three teams we despise got weaker today? The beaners are definitely trash now and the trolls in North Carolina got rolled by their owner's stupidity, trading for a guy who didn't want to play there and ending up with a prospect and two late 1st round picks. Couldn't happen to a nicer bunch.

As for the wretched leaf, they will be demolished in short order by either Florida team.

      Go Habs.

  56. Well they're all must win from here in, but these back to back west coast games are truly that if they want to have any chance. Ultimately they are too thin down the middle and I think that will be their undoing if they fail. We all know what the greatest off season need is.
I was happy to see Beck go back to Laval. 8 minutes a night wasn't doing him much good.

lose two in alberta, time to resume the CHase. onwards, upwards. OB for his first tn! pls pls pls pls play doobie. its the right thing to do considering the west coast location. its the natural choice. 5-2 if its him, 5-4 if its monty swiss cheese

    Fuck you trait-one …

    Relabeling of Gretzky’s wines:

“This mediocre Ontario Chardonnay reeks of betrayal. Expect hints of moral rot, fermented in the casks of vast wealth”, one description reads, adding flavour notes of “acrid and treasony.”
Another describes Gretzky’s bottle of Cabernet Merlot as “weak as its name sake’s moral fibre,” with notes of “sad and two-faced.”
The Baco Noir label was changed to say it features a “hint of garbage bag,” while the Pinot Grigio reads that “Terry Fox would not have used this swill to put out a fire.”

  62. I watched the rest of the game this morning, I'm not impressed with Crybaby Josh. My gut tells me he is an AHL player similar to guys Larry Dolphin, AB-B, Gignac, etc. CBJ might be able to play for some scrub team south of the border or Switzerland. He doesn't have the footspeed or work ethic to play for Marty. He will likely be traded in a package this summer.

    ReplyDelete
  63. While the Habs frig around out west, the teams around them keep playing each other and at a minimum one of them are often winning or at worse it's a 3 point game.
Not too bad last night with the BJs, Rags, Isles and Bolts (I'm including them because I think they can be caught by somebody) losing and the turds and beaners winning. I think Boston is on a post deadline high and will fall to earth shortly anyway.
Habs have 3 games remaining vs FLA, all very important games, including one this Saturday. I'll miss that one as we're hosting our St Paddys Day Ides of March Toga Party. OK so it's not a toga party, but if you find yourself in Dartmouth, NS on Saturday, drop on by!

    ReplyDelete
  64. I got through the first period last night, no chance tonight with an 11:30pm start tonight.

No sign of FHFriend oleg today, I wonder if he's a little hung over today after the big win last night? I've read that 2/3s of the fans last night were Habs fans, probably lots of celebrating after the game.

    ReplyDelete
  65. hey M...
yes, arena was 1/2 red. the other half was mostly canucks, but there were also lotsa guys wearing their "away whites" .

atmosphere was great. its exactly what these idiot canuck fans deserve. the entire building felt like a home game for us and the locals had to rely upon the in-house production team to rally the home fans. gotta give em some credit. some of their antics were clever.

and yes... i was definitely hung over this morning. if i was smarter, (and if i had somebody to go with) i coulda called in sick td and gone down to catch up with them vs shane wright!

where that guy been lately actually? super curious. also curious about fleury. and no sign of juulsen last night either.

    1. oleg ... glad you had a good time, sorry about the hangover (drink lots of water). Shane Wright is with the big club, I think he is doing OK but like Slaf is only 20 maybe 21 years old. The Krakheads are bringing him along slowly. Not sure about former Hab Fleury but I know Juulsen is out hurt and I believe done for the season. I don't think I would go to the game in Seattle even if the tickets were free. Although I think most of the U.S. west coast is sympathetic to Canada regarding the orange felon's assault on our country.

  66. Loving SiM's commentary from the game last night :-) Ahh the highs and lows of being a Habs fan...

    So I watched the hi-lites.

    Doobie has had better games.
That snipe by Laine was insane. Even if he can't do shit at 5 on 5, scoring one PP goal every other game at least is something.
2 goals by Slaf! I'm not sure the 2nd one wasn't a high stick tbh. Must have been too late for the shitheads in the 'war room' in Tronna to catch it.
That OT goal. Ouch. Hutson was living in the slow lane for a bit it seems. I 'think' the Seattle player may have been moving before the puck dropped which should have been a whistle and re-drop of the puck, but it was close. It's like a defensive lineman trying to time the snap of the football to get to the QB.
Nice to get the point but you can't give up 2 goals early and you certainly can't give up 2 goal leads in the third if you plan on making the playoffs.
.500 hockey with the 1-2-1 record out west just ain't gonna cut the mustard.
That said, my Predictometer had them only getting 3 points this week (1 in Van, 2 in Seattle, 0 in FLA on Saturday). So they've already matched that even if the points on the west coast are reversed. And FLA are beatable right now. So onward and upward! The next three (like all of them) are huge vs FLA, OTT, NYI.

    LFG!

    ReplyDelete
  67. Even though they won't make the playoffs, they are playing playoff hockey. No 2nd line and the other two cooling off substantially is killing them. Nick's line can't do it all although they are trying.
