That was the best game I've watched this year. Two up and coming teams with great futures. Meanwhile, the pitiful leaf are going to a shootout with the worst team in the league.
The entire rds panel had nothing, nothing, fucking nothing good to say about tonight’s game or players. The worst post game on rds ever. These are all Nordiques fans. They are scum.
Loving Dobes' play, but I will warn that he is going to start getting delay of game penalties as word gets out to the zebras that he has a tendancy to knock the net off it's moorings more than most it seems. We know they don't need a good reason to call bad penalties on this team.
I don't engage on social media. I'm not a bluesky member, I just read the comments. There was another guy @Habslaughs but he seems to have disappeared.

Looking at the standings this morning, the Glorious Habs (tm CHester) are currently 7th overall and trying to catch the Dead Things while staying ahead of the beaners and barffalo. Meanwhile, the sad sack leaf are 22nd and trying to dig the hole deeper and get into the bottom 5 so as to retain their 1st round pick in the 2026 Draft. They have a lot of losing to do to get there and it will be difficult as the teams below them are not trying too hard to win either. Both races will be fun to watch!
"With seven consecutive power plays to end the game, the Tampa Bay Lightning overcame a 5-1 deficit outdoors in Tampa to beat the Boston Bruins 6-5 in a shootout."
Tell me the league doesn't favour the Florida teams.
3rd Sunday night/Monday in a row i have to 'work from home' because of the snow. I think I'm now accustomed to it and will talk to the boss about staying home every Monday. Well, at least one more Monday, depending on how Sunday goes in Santa Clara.

It feeds on itself in this distinct media ecosystem that promotes navelgazing and never spends much time on other parts of the world outside la belle province.
I was on my phone earlier when commenting as 'Anonymous', forgot to log into my Google account.
And yes, God bless the good people of Minnesota fighting the fascist fucks from Washington D.C. Former governor Jesse Ventura suggested that Minnesota join Canada. I would welcome them with open arms.
When Demi had his stick chopped in half on a beautiful play on a glorious scoring opportunity, with no call, you knew it was going to be an uphill climb to get a W from the zebras.
I started following Whiskeylung on youtube, one source where you don't just get the highlites that I assume AI is putting together for the networks, but you'll actually see a replay of the missed calls. And I agree with him, as much as I praised Prime for their pre-game, their PxP and colour left a lot to be desired last night.
Gally has been taking a lot of shit from fans and some media. And some in here. And not just because he schooled Quinn Fucking Hughes last night, but in general, even if the ability is no longer there, I still see the effort nearly every shift he takes. Josh Anderson on the other hand it seems I rarely see him or hear his name called.
Dobes didn't have his best night. But one game left. Play him vs the Jets tomorrow.
My golf buddy and former co-worker who used to scout the QMJHL for the Blues told me at the the start of the season that the leaf would crash. They let Marner walk and replaced him with 4th line players plus their defence was not very good. Nachos is not a leader. It was a recipe for disaster and has proven to be thus. There is no plan. They have very few draft picks. Their options are practically nil. I couldn't be happier.
Agreed Captain Underpants is a man child. Spoiled and has head filled with fluffy wonderfulness by the SFU and their minions. Shanaban and Dumbass put together four overpaid forwards and neglected the other 80% of their hockey team and then sat back and seemed confused as to the underwhelming performance. The hilarity is non stop. And now the rudderless leaf just flounder around the armpit pointing fingers at each other. This will be a source of amusement for years to come. The funny thing is they will try to copy the beaners with a selective rebuild that will include keeping Underpants, ha ha. The only one worth keeping is Willie The Cone Head. But I don't think that anybody in charge has a pair big enough to do what needs to be done. So keep it up boys and to quote TheM I couldn't be happier GGH
Leafs beat the Oil and 2 teams amazingly playing worse than them and the SFU SN headline is: Can Maple Leafs' sweep of Western Canada change deadline plans?

Meanwhile, over at tsn, "What does 3 straight wins mean for the maple leafs?" Same old clickbait shite.
So, they beat the last place Canucks who are tanking for Gavin, the Flames who are trying to get him as well, and an Oilers team where McD and Drai are more focused on the Olympics. It's a nothing burger.
Also, it looks like Nick Bobrov and Marty Lapointe have dodged two Draft Day bullets by taking Slaf over Shane and Bach over Bitchkov, who is trying to get Rick Tocchet fired after Torts was canned. What an entitled little prick he is.
Possible #1 overall pick Gavin McKenna charged with felony assault at a bar at his school. I think his stock might plummet. Vancouver and other teams will probably be looking closer at Ivar Stenberg now.
Remember the Golf course tag team father and son and that did not end well. Now I have never been in a bar room brawl, espcially after I saw the Rock. I feel sorry for Mckenna.
Heh, that would have been Jacques and Nathan Beaulieu, the coach and player for the Saint John Sea Dogs. BTW, the felony charge carries up to a 20 year sentence if found guilty. Hope he's got good lawyers. Is HF29 busy?
I don't get it...one game before a month off...one game they need to win to go into the layoff on a high...Dooby has been strong and proven himself (I know...he did let in a softie against the Wild) but he's done the job...Monty has not. What the actual fuck? Habs don't have 6 goals in them against the Jets...that's what they now need...way to send them off on a fucking downer - I just don't get it!
Having FHFun asking AI apps to summarize content on the fourhockeyfans and fourhabsfans posts. Results are well, fun. Will post stuff after tonight’s game and during the Olympics. HF29 would be proud.
Monty is good for at least two softies. The Jets are probably good for two legit goals. The corrupt, biased Hab hating refs will give the Jets at least 5 PPs. Habs will need to score 6 at minimum. To tie.
The Stanley Cup champs (Florida) might miss the playoffs. The President's Trophy winners (Winnipeg) might miss the playoffs. The 1967 Stanley Cup champs might miss the the playoffs.
As most here, I want a gold medal for our Olympic hockey teams. I predict Suzuki (sounds Italian) will prove his worth on a stacked team. MPP will also reflect her elite play.
That said I look forward to the future where it's the Habs, Buff, and Det fighting for those top three spots. The leaf and America's wang teams can suck it.

ReplyDeletehttps://www.tsn.ca/nhl/article/why-the-senators-top-all-canadian-teams-in-latest-power-ranking/
I made it to the 2nd paragraph, but as soon as I saw something about 'expected goals' I quit reading because I don't get into that shit.
DeleteIt was one of those newfangled hybrid stats they used to pump up Monty's tires after last season. Not totally useless, but not tgat uaeful either.
DeleteWhich reminds me, I can't remember the last time I heard someone mention "Corsi" and I'm none the poorer for it.
The win % FFS !
DeleteThe French version of the Tim’s Team Canada commercial is very good. Warning: even ratface makes an appearance, in French and it ain’t bad.
ReplyDeleteRDS is somewhat flummoxed that Dobes is starting (despite saying he won his last 7).
ReplyDeleteHow do they not see the stupidity in what they do?
DeleteName one other sports franchise that focuses solely on having players from their region on the team above all else.
It feeds on itself in this distinct media ecosystem that promotes navelgazing and never spends much time on other parts of the world outside la belle province.
DeleteI think it's called sour grapes.
DeleteWhich is a really great song by the Honeydogs btw

I gotta say, I am a fan of Prime's pre-game, just showing the team in their warmups on the ice and chatting about the players.
ReplyDeleteThe M, do you remember MSL and Jody Shelley playing for the Flames in SJ?
I vaguely remember MSL, I didn't go to many Flames games before they left town. I don't remember Shelley, didn't he play for the Moose?

Those two mentioned aren't going to score many goals but they still have a role to play and are good 'team culture' players. No complaints from me.

Monty starts.
ReplyDeleteOh well.
DeleteTheM meant oh swell. 😜
DeleteNo pressure on the new goalie coach...
DeletePossible #1 overall pick Gavin McKenna charged with felony assault at a bar at his school.
ReplyDeleteI think his stock might plummet.
Vancouver and other teams will probably be looking closer at Ivar Stenberg now.
Yikes.
DeleteWon’t be authentic news until fried man chimes in.
Remember when he was the first to report Nachos’ underwear assault ?
The next Predators GM (Bergy) will take him.
DeleteOr the next leaf GM but I think they don’t have a first rounder until 2067.

Well, tsn reported it, they are at least as reliable as the fried man.
Delete2067 sounds about right for the leaf pick.

ReplyDeleteAgreed. Fast Lane will lead all D in scoring but they will not give him the Norris.
DeleteThat's a bridge to far for the sfu.
Nature is the runaway Selke candidate but I don’t have a vote, some of the sfu does …
ReplyDeleteThe Calder should go to the votes combined by Lane, Dobie and Kap. The first ever group Calder, like a Vezina/Jennings, shared.
ReplyDeleteThe future's so bright we gotta 😎.
