Trade heat is blowing will our super stock of draft picks start flowing for a brute on the D and a sandpaper forward who can twist the Pretzel. I am standing pat, not going to pull the trigger. 1)We are winning so why change the team or system. Who needs big D to clear the net when the puck is not in our end because the skill defence moves it out. Then our speed wears down the big D of the other teams, plus the second period break, gives us legs for the third. 2)This is a prospect rich draft enviroment. Timmins seems to have super Notradamus drafting skill. Taking 4 of the top 60 picks could make a core five years from now that would be able to win a gold medal at the Olympics.
When the game between Pitt./Thugs is over tonight one of them will displace the Habs as conference leader. The collective cheer going up from tsn, sportsnet and cbc/hnic will be audible I'm sure down here in the Maritimes.
Personally, I'm hoping for a Pens win in regulation which vaults them into first and keeps the shit stained beaners in 4th. However, with fucking Fleury in net you never know. He sucks.
Unless MB pulls a rabbit out of his hat, I'd prefer he keep all the draft picks they have instead of trading them for a rental. Package all 4 of those picks to move up into the top 3 and grab Drouin or MacKinnon.
Habs have great young guys. They have 6 picks in the first 3 rounds, as is my understanding. The future could look bright if we're patient and the scouts do their job. I've read that this coming draft is one of the deepest ever. I don't know about these things. But if it's true, I don't want to mortgage the future for a shot at double zeros even if it's been hitting all night.
Carbo, and others, have said we have a shot here at #25, blessed be thy name. I say it's 26 games (and really just the last 15). Good looking team that could use a couple of pieces to see it through a Conference we've had our way with thus far, outside our own division. More sandpaper at minimal cost would be nice, but let's not sell the farm for some magic beans.
I really do believe the Habs can make it through any team in the East right now....except for the leaf. I'm not joking. There's something about the leaf. I'm not saying they'll lose. I'm just not so sure. Maybe it's the 2 losses to them this year and the hard played games against them for the last 2 decades. The broons, it'll be hard but possible. The Pens, put MAF in net and we'll walk through. Plus Crosby has a hard time scoring at the Bell Centre.
Speaking of Pitts, GO PENS GO..tonight and tonight only! One of my favourite drag queens is from Pittsburgh! Sharon Needles. Look her up. Make fun of me all you want, but drag queens aren't that much different than hockey or star trek.
GO HABS GO. As a famous drag queen once said, YOU BETTA WORK!
Wait a sec, Drag Queens don't have Photon Torpedoes or shuttle craft and they can't go to warp speed. Although I'm sure they have a few tricks of their own ... My favorite drag queen is Wheezy Beaudoin. What a firecracker she was. Protekter of The Pure Furr. Shields Up!!
Don't let who get me down? Those assholes at all those networks? Fuck, I laugh at them, they wouldn't know a hockey team if it skated over them. They are paid to offer "expert opinions", speculate on who might be traded by who to who or grade a team based on their performance or depth of personnel. Well, when you base your opinion on colour of jersey and where your audience is based you remove any credibility you had.
The Canadiens will never get any respect from the usual talking heads in leafland. The broadcast crew for TSN-Habs offer them respect at least but they have to because they know Habs fans are watching. It wouldn't be good business to diss the team your audience is watching. Randorf keeps it low key (as he should) and the best analyst by far is Dave Reid, a very knowledgeable ex-NHLer. Mike Johnson (a former Hab is) not bad and Bobby Dollas is the worst mostly because he has a hard time articulating his thoughts.
In closing I say ignore those fucking dummies in T.O. they bare catering to the lowest common denominator of hockey fan. The leaf fan.
One positive about living in a land where hockey is unknown and certainly un-reported, is that I don't have to listen to know-it alls bullshit about utter crap like the leaf. So whenever I want to read a report from some blowhard talking shit about utter crap, I just log onto FHF and read all of Steve's comments...(see what I did there...!)
What we didn't see was the two of them in the barn arguing over who was going to take Andrea. Rick was the clear winner. With 3 more episodes I don't think it's too long, but like last night there were a few slow 'setup' episodes that weren't totally necessary.
Never give up hope boys, all you need is a big one
Elin Nordegren, formerly married to Tiger Woods, is dating West Virginia coal zillionaire Chris Cline, says the N.Y. Post. They’re neighbours in Florida. (What, you thought a zillionaire would live in West Virginia?)
I don't understand. TSN/CBC/CoTU told me that the broons were going to win all their games in hand. That they were actually in first, if that scheduler only hadn't given them 3 days rest between games. So, it's impossible that they lost. They're unbeatable, I've been told many times. There must be some mistake.
And the leaf are on the verge of losing (again). A good day all around!
That's great. I liked it so much I paused the screen last night and took some stills with my phone. But i'm not tech-savvy enough to upload it to the innernets. So thanks!
The best part is that's him complaining that Kunitz was faking after getting a goalie stick to the face. Fuck I hate the SSTB's.
Leaf losing in regulation, Bruins lose in regulation and because of some glitch (?) on TSN, Habs are still in first even with the Pens win tonight. They have more wins but we have a game in hand. What's the tie-breaker?
Tie breaker is points/game, thus if you have a game in hand you are ahead. Next, it's wins, then Reg/OT wins (ROW), I get confused after that. Or, in most cases, whoever TSN chooses, although they have showed restraint recently: Habs ahead of Pens and Sens ahead of leaf.
Did anyone see that little tap by Ladd that sent Celine FLYING into the boards? Seriously, it's halirious, look it up. Then Celine gets up and attacks Andrew. Really, it was a tiny little tap as Ladd tried to get around Celine in the offensive end. Hilarious.
Oh my lord. In a 5-2 game, where Pavlec makes some incredible saves and Kane scores a beauty, of course TSN chooses Kessel's goal as the HON. HIS FUCKING STICK BROKE! That means the goal was a complete accident! For fuck sakes!!
"With the win, the Jets have made a playoff spot seem plausible." Wait, TSN. You've declared the leaf as one of the best teams in the East with a lock on a playoff spot.
leaf 31 pts 27 gp
Jets 28 pts 26 gp
And, using the logic you apply to the broons, we should automatically assume the Jets will win that game in hand.
I have done some very high level statistical anaylsis of the Cole-Ryder exchange. Cole five games one goal one point. Ryder 7 games 2 goals, 7 assists, 9 points. Based upon this DGMB must make another trade immediatly. The ghosts of the Fourm are back, they demand new bodies.
Could not happen to a nicer bunch. There are some players I have been concerned with for long stretches of this shortened season, including tonight. One of them is Milan Lucic, who hasn’t scored since Feb. 24. He’s sprinkled in some assists since then, but as part of the top line, he should be doing better. Actually, that goes for the entire top line–they can all do better. Andrew Ference on defense has been a consistent issue as well, to the point that it’s often easy to find #21 in replays of goals being scored on the Bruins. He’s going to become an unrestricted free agent following this season and is doing a great job proving that he deserves a new contract–in Bizarro World. It kills me the toronto star has the boston game in the sports section, but never has Montreal in unless they play toronto. I have had a subscription all my adult life, but I am not renewing. This is the final nail in the coffin, but mostly the paper is dissappearing. Its become so thin you need two days to line one day of the bird cage.
Go Habs Go
ReplyDeleteAll the cups could be in Montreal this year. I would have to give Charger an MVP nod as well.

ReplyDeleteShirly he cant be serious, can you imagine if PFK tried this?
ReplyDeleteIts a total loser play, he cant shoot, so the goalie just has to follow the puck.

We are No. 1.
ReplyDeleteWe should act like it.
If we see something to our advantage fine.
But go out shopping ... no.
Picks are the future we all know this.
They say that this draft is epic.
We are loaded.
Go Habs!

DeleteYup, lots of bruin love coming up on hockey central. "They are sooo good", says Mallard the Hab hater. So predictable.
ReplyDeleteHappened to catch the McQuaid hit on Neil last night before watching the Walking Dead. Without a doubt the dirtiest team in hockey.
ReplyDeleteWhy did Rick not shoot the Govener when he had the chance?
DeleteNo idea. Kirkman is dragging this out way too long.

DeleteDaugavins' shootout goal worked before. Why not try it again. Not much of a move though. I'd say just lie down and poke check swipe him silly.
