What happened? He get run over by a car?
Holy fuck! That's what happened! That was just a wild guess when I typed it, then I Googled it and lo and behold....
Can't wait for the first Brian scéance. Bonus if Elvis makes an appearance.
Holy Crap! Maritmer, please type the lotter numbers, b-days are coming.

Breaking: 10? former player have now filed a lawsuit against the NHL for concussions.
moeman, btw thanks for putting me onto savagechicken. I hadn't seen those cartoons before. Guy's a genius. So simple, yet hilarious.
Cool.Reminds me of 'The Far Side'. Google 'cat fud'.
Definitely very Larson-esque. Love these things. Crunchy on the outside with a chewy centre.
In light of the lawsuit I guess it would be safe to say that Kadri's next infraction will earn him a long 'time-out' not that he's on record saying that he hits players when they're in a vulnerable position.
The CotU mediots tell us that kadri is a 'special' player.
Go Liberal, Brandon-Souris!
4-0 BJs in the 2nd. Eat it leaf and your "Olympic" goalie. Go BJs Go! I will always root for BJs.
The leaf is tired they played extra time on Saturday, aka cockroachday.
5-0. Five goals on 17 shots to the explosive offence of the Blue Jackets. Teehee. Can't wait to hear the excuses.
It's amazing they've only allowed 17 shots, yet they are STILL being outshot! Tee-hee!
Reimer dropped to 3rd on Team Canada.
Belinda's face must be beat red by now. Have they yanked superstar Reimer yet?

Just want to share this bit of Korean logic with you FHF, because I feel like I'm the crazy one. In winter months Koreans leave the windows open. Why? I have no idea. I work in a public school with limited/no budget so they refuse to heat it. Today it is -2 outside. My co-teacher was teaching other classes and came back to class wearing a winter coat and two sweaters along with a scarf and gloves (it's often colder in the school because we don't get direct sunlight and the open windows and doors create drafts). I myself am wearing two sweaters and mitts in the classroom. So anyway, she comes in and complains about how cold it is. Her solution? Go straight for the windows, open them and stand by them. Now she refuses to shut them. Instead she is sitting at her desk moaning about how cold it is. Lovely woman, she's hardly the first/only Korean who I have seen do this. In my apartment building hallways, windows are fastened open the entirely of winter (they are locked closed the rest of the year). I am not the crazy one. They are the crazy ones. I am not the crazy one.
That's so funny, I can't stop laughing. Not at you, orangeman, I agree you are not the crazy one.
Now if only the Pens could beat the Bruins once in a while...
meh. Fuck the Bruins. Who cares.Cbus by an unconverted touchdown. Perfect! It's time like this I miss seeing the 'panel experts' explain away these sweet moments in time.
Via the Toronto Star (paraphrased because they kicked me off for not paying...like I would): "Before the game, there was a strong argument to be made that Reimer was the best goaltender in the world's best league". No. No there wasn't. He's doing well this year, and had a good last game. That's it. Get out of your ass. This is what I grew up with as a Habs fan in the CotU, and this is why I hate them. Reimer will be a Coyote in 2 years and HNIC will call him "the goalie" when he plays the puck.
Justin going for a hat trick
The Jackal gets his face punched repeatedlyhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=Xfdr_mTkwyw
What a cheap piece of shit. No one to "hold him back" this time. Hit from behind, two hander to the shin, then try to run away. Look how that other classless leaf tries to interfere. Also how the leaf announcers just completely ignore what happened. "Both young men...23....From Manitoba....And here's a commercial!" Said it above, everyone involved with that organization is classless. Just wonder if they'll get that fist out of that shit eater's mouth in time for next game.
I read about Brian's demise in the paper yesterday. Apparently he will be replaced by another dog voiced by Tony Siricio - Paulie from the Sopranos
I haven't seen the episode, but doesn't Stewie have a time machine? I have read that it was malfunctioning in this one, but that's the thing with time travel. It's always there, like Checkov's gun. That's why Heroes died. Hiro was just too powerful, man!
Nice one BJ's! Fuck da leaf
Love it when the leaf gets pummeled. Saw the Jackal get punched in the mouth too. Good night all around.
Heard that the Toronto Sports Network is going to loose the NHL broadcast rights to Rodgers and the Chee Bee Chee. Don't know if that is an improvement.Go Habs
RDS is out of it too. TVA (garbage) is in. Not sure if the Habs have a say. snet is a fucking useless leaf organ grinder.
Also, gonna be fun watching rats like dregger scram his way into that stinking ship.
"TVA will become the official French broadcaster of the NHL in Canada for 12 years beginning next fall.In an announcement Tuesday, Quebecor announced it has reached an agreement with Rogers Communications.TVA Sports has also obtained the broadcast rights to at least 22 Montreal Canadiens regular-season games.Quebecor president and CEO Robert Depatie thanked the NHL commissioner Gary Bettman for putting his trust in Quebecor for "this exciting adventure.""NHL hockey and the Montreal Canadiens are deeply ingrained in the history, culture and hearts of Quebecers. Quebecor and TVA Sports are proud to be part of this tradition," Depatie said in a statement. The agreement also grants TVA Sports exclusive French broadcast rights to all playoff games. In addition, TVA Sports will have the rights to all Canadian national games and up to 160 games between American NHL teams, as well as NHL special events such as the All-Star Game, the Winter Classic, the NHL draft and the NHL Awards ceremony.TVA Group president and CEO Pierre Dion said when TVA Sports was launched more than two years ago, they were determined to offer content of the highest standard."Thanks to the acquisition of rights to top-notch sports events and our team's tireless work, TVA Sports has become a major player in sports broadcasting in Quebec," Dion said. "With today's agreement, we are taking a crucial step towards becoming Quebec's number one sports channel.""
I don't know what TVA is. Please direct me on how to feel about this so I can formulate an appropriately emotional response.
Shit. I am with Videotron which is not Quebecor. Shit. I was cozy with my Pierre and the RDS signal was/is stronger than others. Shit.Go Habs
Same here. I was happy with RDS who had every Habs game, didn't have to pay extra to get to see all the games. I'm sure Videotron will carry it buy it will now cost more.
The #1 thing I miss, aside from the Big 3 (family, friends and food) from living in Canada is watching hockey after work instead of ungodly morning hours, having to sneak peeks at work or waking up early on Sundays (if God intended people to wake early on Sunday He would have made some sort of congregation in His name that morning in some sort of building with his name on it). But what's cool about getting random feeds here is the various other broadcasts I get to watch. I especially like the Florida and California ones. Their commercials are so weird. Anyway, I'm just saying that difference can be nice. Gets you out of the HNIC RDS TSN rut. The hate everything with bleu blanc et rouge, hate everything with a CH, love everything with with a French surname routine. Plus you've never heard these pronunciations before! It's like watching old Expos games with them trying to pronounce the Latin names. Fantastic.
*ENGLISH Expos broadcasts. The French had more fun with the Latin names than a cat with a laser pointer.
http://www.sportsnet.ca/hockey/nhl/nhl-rumours-latest-trade-rumours-sabres-oilers-flyers-panthers-reports/So, rumors are the Habs are in the market. Maybe they're 2 years away from being a force, but as the article states the East seems to be for the taking this year. I've always liked Vanek. Maybe on the downside of his peak, but still dangerous. I think he is top 5 in goals/points since the lockout. The fist one. I mean the first one this century. Oie. Anyway, depends what they have to give up. Not even sure if he's available, though. A big power forward would be nice, said every team in the league.
TVA is owned and operated by Quebecor, aka the Péladeau family, the same one's that are sucking off gov't to get the(ir) Nordicks back. Latest info. floating around is RDS will initially keep 60 of the Habs games, 22 going to TVA (a less neanderthal network than snet). TVA gets ALL Ffrench-language playoff games. fuckface bettman cratered for the biggest dollar. Thats business. It'll be interesting to see what tsn does/gets. Regional Habs game continue? They will be desperate for leaf games now that the cockroaches and snet own virtually any/all leaf game they want to the detriment of Canada.
Oh, oh; "In addition, the NHL says the agreement guarantees that there will be no further regionalization of games or local blackouts."
Well, I wholeheartedly support the return of the Nords. I'm confused. I'm in a glass case of emotion.
That's a good thing, no?
I mean about the 'no-blackouts'
http://www.montrealgazette.com/sports/hockey/Wings+Canadian+Olympic+coach+Babcock+becomes+honorary/9211390/story.htmlMike Babcock, oh you know just my fellow Redman. My McGill does me good here in Asia. Asians love a reputable university. Not Stanley Cup winner, Olympic coach good. But good nonetheless.
It will be interesting to see how this all shakes out re: Habs games for Atlantic Canada viewers. I assume the leaf will still be shoved down our throats on Saturday nights. I don't subscribe to RDS and won't pay extra for TVA Sports either. No more games on TSN or TSN-Habs means I may not get a game on TV at all....except when they are playing the shit leaf. Oh well, c'est la vie.As a side note, once ml$e and Bon Jovi get their hands on the Bills and put them in Toronto I'll bet the Argonauts move to Moncton or Halifax and become the Schooners.
The way I understand it, with so many channels available to SN/CBC, I should be able to watch the Habs on Saturday nights in english. No more regional blackouts and no more leaf shoved down my throat. If HNIC is showing the leaf, the Habs should be on Sportsnet East, CityTV, SN1 or SN360 or whatever. I'm down with that.RDS fans will still get games for a couple more years I think, can't remember when the last 5 year deal was signed and the l'antiHabchambre will carry on as usual I would think. Blob was tweeting that TSN will still be talking about hockey on their programs. Earlier, moe mentioned dregger jumping to Sportsnet.....can't see it, he already jumped ship from there to TSN, I doubt they would take him back, he may have to get on his knees to work for ml$e.
Ok then, apparently I have TVA, 4 Sportsnet and RDS, RDS2. Maybe won't need to change anything. Just prefer not to watch hnic unless I absolutely have to and get the leafs shoved down my throat.
I don't trust Peladeau. He is a slippery one, very mobile in the back rooms. Strikes me that Buttman and Pierre-Marc are two rats of a feather. This is going to cost more for sure, I just don't want the quality or the availability to diminish. I need my Habs. Hopefully tho we will be done with the Coin de Blew-it and that fuck Tremblay ... Saint Patrick killer .... fargin bastage.Go Habs
Gee, what will the fired coaches on the 'fired coaches club' do?
With PeasantVision, I currently see the Habs on HNIC (usually only when the play the leaf). I've been wondering whether or not to reconnect the cable or get the fibreop that Bell is constantly peddling. I agree with the M, in theory us folks on the east coast SHOULD see Habs games they choose to air on SN East or 1 or whatever. Sportsnet is the one network that actually embraced PK - we was a rockstar on their network during the lockout. They may still despise the Habs, but I think the PK relationship can only help our potential interaction between the network and the Habs. Maybe they'll even hire former Habs to do the games and analysis. Good vibes.
"According to a memo circulated at CBC Tuesday after the announcement, the CBC will pay no rights fees for carrying games and will not have access to the advertising revenue. Rogers Sportsnet will get that revenue and have editorial control over the HNIC broadcast."
From what I can figure, the only thing the CBC gets out of this is they get to promote Republic of Doyle, Murdoch Mysteries, etc. on HNIC which was a cash cow for them. People will instinctively tune into CBC on Saturday night for the game but over time HNIC may get pushed aside for a younger flashier show/presentation of some type. Grapes is getting up there and he may want to bow out in the next 4 years or so anyway, McLame will be weeded out and Bob Cold is toast guaranteed after this season. PJSuck better hope TSN radio will take him back. The rest of the leaf fans there will find jobs at SN, they like Healy and Friedman, they had part time gigs there anyway. If their smart they'll keep Kevin Weekes he is one of the more balanced commentators anywhere.
Well, looks like we'll probably still get the leafs shoved down out throats, Rogers owns a stake in mlse (I had forgotten about that since I didn't really care). From NHL's website http://www.nhl.com/ice/news.htm?id=693152&navid=nhl:topheadsRogers will provide game coverage with expanded pre- and post-game coverage beginning at 4 p.m. ET on Saturdays and Sundays. In addition to its exclusive rights for all playoff and Stanley Cup Final games, Rogers has exclusive rights to special events such as future NHL All-Star Games and NHL Drafts. The agreement guarantees that there will be no further regionalization of games or local blackouts. Rogers has three exclusive windows to broadcast any game involving a Canadian team -- Wednesday nights, Saturday nights (including CBC) and Sunday nights.Viewers on Saturday nights will get every game regardless of where they reside and certain games involving two U.S.-based teams.According to an example provided by Rogers, if the agreement were in place this season Canadians would have had access to five games spread over 11 different channels, including three TVA channels (French-language only), in the 7 p.m. ET window this past Saturday. The new Sunday night national broadcast will feature marquee matchups. In addition, Rogers will use its digital technology to stream games on the Internet, wireless and mobile devices, and satellite radio. Rogers will operate NHL Center Ice and NHL GameCenter Live in Canada."Sports content is a key strategic asset and we've been investing significantly to strengthen our sports offering to Canadians," said Nadir Mohamed, President and Chief Executive Officer, Rogers Communications. "Canadians are passionate about hockey, and through this landmark partnership with the NHL we'll be able to bring hockey fans more games and more content on their platform of choice."Sportsnet TV currently has the regional rights to the Vancouver Canucks, Calgary Flames, Edmonton Oilers, Toronto Maple Leafs and Ottawa Senators. It broadcasts 264 NHL games per year, the most games featuring Canadian teams among all Canadian broadcast companies.Rogers Communications owns a 37.5 percent stake in Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment and has an alliance with the Canucks, including the naming rights of Rogers Arena, Vancouver's home building. Rogers is also the telecommunications sponsor of the Oilers.Rogers Media president Keith Pelley is the former President of TSN and the head of the 2010 Canadian Olympic broadcast consortium. President of Broadcast Scott Moore is the former head of CBC Sports."Our vision is to build on the NHL's legacy in Canada with an emphasis on storytelling, innovation, and technology -- weaving the NHL, its teams and its stars even deeper into the fabric of Canadian culture," Pelley said. "Today's announcement significantly increases the value of our premium Sportsnet brand and reinforces our commitment to making Sportsnet the No. 1 sports media brand in Canada."---
I imagine Bettman pockets about 1% of that deal. A cool $52 million or so.I also think this will advance the expansion of the league - we'll see the Nodicks back and a team in Vegas in a couple of seasons.
Sportsnet might want a second team in the GTA before they head to Sin City. Quebec City is in, no doubt. Canada is where the money is and Greedy Gary and his posse (BoG) know this. Imagine how the new owners in Phoenix and South Florida feel today....Santa came a month early for them!Any Habs news today? I read RBQ is a healthy scratch tomorrow. Is DDD on the trade block yet?
Headline from CBC's page: Olympic hockey rankings: Does P.K. Subban belong?Maybe I'm oversensitive, but doesn't that just sound....odd. If only he did things the white way...I mean right way. Yes. That's what I meant.
UPDATE: Headline from CBC's page: sportsnet hockey rankings: Does P.J. Stock belong?
Lots of and mostly 99.9% negative thoughts about anything that comes from the CotU mediots. tsn got bitch-slapped without even realizing it. snet is a dump and a cesspool of ludicrous morons. Not a single worthwhile pundit/member over there. Not one. The cockroaches get some kind of lifeline. They'll be drowned in the snet tub in 4 years. tsn should go rogue and have dregger announce some off the wall shit trade rumour every night.
"Rogers will collect all of the revenues from the advertisements and sponsorships that are sold on Hockey Night in Canada, even the versions of it that appear on CBC. Further, the Saturday broadcasts will also be split among Rogers properties such as the Sportsnet and City channels, which will also be able to use the Hockey Night in Canada brand."Shorter version, eat shit cockroaches.
Insider Trading.....speculating teams are calling MB to inquire about Max's availability....WTF?? If Patches is traded he better be taking DDD with him. When was the last time Montreal had a player anybody actually wanted? Squid?
Sounds like Eklund crap. If we trade PatCHes I give up
Is Montreal Canadiens forward Max Pacioretty being shopped?McKenzie: Absolutely not, according to the Canadiens and their general manager Marc Bergevin, but it may be a splitting of hairs because teams in the NHL are calling the Canadiens and asking them about the availability of Pacioretty. The Canadiens are listening to offers, they are not saying he's available but his name is in play.
According to Jessica Russnack(sp) (local reporter who covers the Habs) PatCHes has not been available to the media but said that could be that he speaks his mind and if he is not happy he'll let you know. "oh come on, there's such good news about you being 2nd star of the week etc.." she told him, but he said sorry. I'd say it's all speculation, teams may be calling DGMB directly because he fired his agent (then stated scoring).
Go Flightless Birds!
Sabres claim Matt d'Agostini from waivers.
tweeted by dregerRick Dudley agrees to more lucrative deal to stay with Canadiens after Sabres approach Mtl for permission to talk to Duds re: GM job.
Crazy busy day. Blog post later.
No worries, moeman.
