The NHL logo sucks big time and I am sick of the dickey. If you want to see one of the best logo's not on the list, feast your eyes on the cosmic ZSRDF.
Back to reality tonight. Gonna miss the game as it's monthly poker night (if she'll let me! Ba-dum-bump!) Maybe I'll catch the Express if it's not too late and worth watching.
TSN Ice Chips for the Habs:
Alex Galchenyuk (broken right hand) and Travis Moen (LBI) will play Wednesday against Detroit. Peter Budaj will start in goal. - TSN
Meanwhile the Ice Chips for the wretched leaf is like reading fucking War & Peace. I was going to cut and paste it too, but don't want to soil the good pages of the FHForum.
Screw being classy, If I could get it done in time for Saturday, I would get a slew of ribbons and fashion some knock-off gold medals, put 'em all together then get a small army to hand them out to all the Habs fans going into the game. Go Habs Go!
Back to enhanced reality. Is TFS the best goaltender on the planet? Its like asking which is better Austria or Switzerland. Is PFK the best benchwarmer on the planet? Its like asking if Conan Obrien should have been given a better chance. Did Patches, Vodkov and (Y) show their true value at the Olympics? Its like asking if your Honda Civic will get you to work everyday for ten years if you change the oil on time. Yes it will.
We have now seen that on the big ice with the best players in the world, we should expect a game as exciting as New Jersey VS Montreal. Every team in the NHL is on the bubble. A good coach can put them on the right side of the bubble. Montreal has a genuine shot at the cup this year. All they need to do is play good hockey.
Back in the saddle. For me personally it will be a bit of a step down after watching Team Canada's D. I love our heart and soul, really do, but what I would give for a Doughty and Webber. His Flashyness doesn't do it for me, and he will certainly be on a personal mission tonight in front of The Babcock. I also think we give Vodkov his three years. He has looked good and we have young guys coming up. Good young guys. You need a Vodkov in the room for the kids. Don't fuck up now DGMB and don't be cheap with a guy who has done what Vodkov has done. K I'm all out of opinions. Go Habs.
@mike_p_johnson: Uh oh, Carey Price takes one shot on a 5 on 0 pp warmup and gets up favouring his leg. He left the ice and has not returned for practice. https://twitter.com/GMillerTSN/status/438698885750718464/photo/1
I won't have any broadband at home until the weekend - so in time for the leaf game. I will have to follow the action on my phone. Go Habs Go!! Go Habs Go!!
And in order to discredit anything TFS may have done, the chinless wonder tweets about the cardboard cutout used in practice "@GMillerTSN that thing still may have won gold with Canada". Yeah, because Price did nothing. Douche Canoe.
@JohnLuTSNMtl: #RedWings Babcock says he tried to encourage Price and others to celebrate hard: "Nothing wrong with being a little leaky if you're Pricer."
@JohnLuTSNMtl: #RedWings Babcock on where is his Gold Medal #McGill tie: "I got a little beer on it, rammed it into a bag (with my suit and shoes)."
@JohnLuTSNMtl: #RedWings Babcock on #Habs Subban: "He was a great teammate & I think he learned a lot. I enjoyed him... He was a big part of our team." 3/3
1 hour ago @JohnLuTSNMtl: #RedWings Babcock on #Habs Subban: "It's always hard as a high end athlete when somebody tells you you can't play." 2/3
1 hour ago @JohnLuTSNMtl: #RedWings Babcock on #Habs Subban: "He's a great kid... Tons of energy, real positive, gonna continue to grow into a great, great pro." 1/3
@GinoRedaTSN: Crosby says Carey Price was playing hurt at the Olympics - "I don't think it happened at the Olympics, he's been battling it for a while"
To play like that while injured is phenomenal, CArey truly is the best goalie in the world.
@GinoRedaTSN: "Why are you guys asking me this? That's not important, I'm not going to devulge anything"- Luongo on whether he knew about Price's injury
We (Hab fans) may just as well accept that anyone who is hired to work for the CBC or TSN are under orders to discredit anybody who is associated with the Montreal Canadiens. I question Sportsnet because one of their head guys (Scott ?) is a big Habs fan and they actually like PK. Moe will never give up the battle but I'm getting too old too fight with the simple minded leaf lovers who use social media to trash the Habs. I've chosen to just ignore them.
scott moore, now of snet, previously at the cockroach network may claim to be a Habs fan but as an exec he did all he could to promote their leaf over all other Canadian teams and I doubt the Habs will ever have a decent voice at snet. Actually, I prefer the Habs not be shown on that POS excuse for a leaf network.
Funny that it took TFS getting a Gold medal on an MVP performance and now a lower body injury for these sick fucks to even notice him when a disgusting piece of garbage like kadri is blown in public, swallowed and snowballed (urban dict it) into gaping leaf fan pinholes.
I know this is a hockey blog, but...the language enforcers in Quebec want some boutique to run their Facebook page in French? Seriously? The owner requested that the request be made in English. Good come back.
Team Canada coach Babcock says there's no better feeling than singing our national in the hockey arena in Canada. Will RDS go to commercial and not show it for the umpteenth time? Time for RDS to really pull itself away from the séparatistes at tva and show the fucking anthem, all of it.
TFS didn't sing, but I do remember him saying that he really felt great to sing the anthem when it actually meant something. Well, along those lines anyway.
One thing I've noticed with the Olympics as well is how long intermissions are in the NHL. I was always shocked at how quickly they got back to playing in Sochi. It seems like intermissions in the NHL just get longer and longer.
Nice to see them work on their passing during that practice. What's that? It was during the game? Hm? Oh, it was during a PP during a real actual game. Oh.
Soundgarden, all original members, will celebrate the 20th anniversary of its landmark album "Superunknown" at South By Southwest. The Seattle grunge rockers will play "Superunknown" front to back for the first time March 13 when they headline the third night of the iTunes Festival in Austin, Texas.
Not sure if this is boring because NHL games are too early for me to drink. Though I'm still on vacation, so technically it's never too early to start drinking.
Some nice ones here:
ReplyDeletehttp://www.fastcodesign.com/3026693/20-of-canadas-best-logos#1
To me the NFB logo is a classic and (as it should be) iconic. So simple yet identifiable.
DeleteSo, um the 1970 TV Ontario logo. It would seem this is where a lot of the cockroaches likely got their start. Was Ben Dover the president of TVO?

I meant Saturday vs leaf of course.

Makes one happy that Kadri's father refused to wear the blue and white during the father's trip. Boy did he stick out like a sore thumb.

ReplyDeleteJust saw the PK penalty. Really?
ReplyDeleteChris Lee = Tim Peel
DeleteOne can spell eel with either one.
DeleteThe thing we will miss most from the Sochi hockey games are passes that click. Over 50% of this game's passes are mistakes, giveaways or crapshoots.
ReplyDeleteDid Marie-Philip Poulin bring her skates?
ReplyDeleteFor the record, I was so bored with the game I am now watching Survivor
ReplyDeleteThis reminds me of:
DeleteI'm so hungry, I could eat at Arby's!
OH GOD NO!
Going to one-up you 29 as I was so bored I read most of this:

ha! God I love that episode. My favourite moment is as Otto is being swept away by the tide, he shouts "Zeppelin ruuuuulesssss..."
DeleteI'm just surfing the web with the game playing in another window.
DeleteMessy hockey is hard to watch. *sigh*
ReplyDelete"messy" is being charitable

DeleteGo Habs Go!! Go Habs Go!! Go Habs Go!! Go Habs Go!! Go Habs Go!! Go Habs Go!! Go Habs Go!! Go Habs Go!!
ReplyDelete3-1 Sabres in the 2nd. They played last night and won.
ReplyDeleteThey get a 2 on 1 and they take their sweet bloody time - WAKE UP PatCHes!
ReplyDeleteThat was severely offside on the Wings. Not that it mattered.
ReplyDeleteIn updated Survivor news, this year's cast has some interesting sports people...
ReplyDeleteCliff Robinson, ex-NBA all-star
An ex SF 49er cheerleader
(and... drum roll....)
Ex-VP of the Montreal Expos (current Marlins Prez) David Samson. I hope snakes eat him. Or he gets burned in a fire. or any tragedy really
HAHAHAHA Samson just got voted out. First! suck it, Loria family
DeleteThat is some good shit.
DeleteShots 17-1 for wings - wake TFU!
ReplyDeleteCash it!!!
ReplyDeleteNice to see them work on their passing during that practice. What's that? It was during the game? Hm? Oh, it was during a PP during a real actual game. Oh.

FYI, the iTunes Festivals are freely streamed live online.
DeleteI turned it off. Enough of this exhibition crap. Think I'll wait a couple weeks until they get their feet back under them.
ReplyDeleteI like 29's comments about David Samson. Not enough bad things could happen to him and his asshole step-father.
Samson defines slimy. Loria is a leech.
DeleteApparently Samson finished an Ironman Triathlon. DIDN'T HELP YOU AT ALL FUCKER
DeleteDrinking White Russians now. The Dude abides.
ReplyDeleteGYFHG get 3 shots this period!
Go Habs Go! Go Habs Go! Go Habs Go! Go Habs Go! Go Habs Go!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteSeason 2 of The Americans starts at 10 PM. Now that's entertainment, unlike this hockey game
ReplyDelete29, have you seen any of 'True Detective' yet? I haven't, yet.
DeleteI am up to date on TD. McConnaughey and Harrelson are phenomenal. And some great nudity. worth anyone's time
DeleteThx. Everything I've read says it is that good and 'cerebral' to boot.
DeleteNot sure if this is boring because NHL games are too early for me to drink. Though I'm still on vacation, so technically it's never too early to start drinking.
ReplyDeleteFunniest thing I've read tonight; "The Arizona Legislature; it's a dry hate."

ReplyDeleteREPLAY!
ReplyDeleteI want to see the replay on that one.

ReplyDelete17 shots for the game. that's funny, and pathetic, and funny
ReplyDeleteAnd Gio had 5 of them.

ReplyDeleteAnd the Sabers win!

ReplyDeleteclassic hooking / embellishment call that just doesn't make sense
ReplyDeleteEmbellishing, fuok of Lee
ReplyDeleteA diving call? Fuck you refs!
ReplyDeleteBig ice!
ReplyDelete2 minutes for acting like a black man i guess
ReplyDeleteThe refs just hate PK. It's becoming so obvious now. The NHL should be ashamed of itself.
ReplyDeleteWhere the fuck is gCHuk? Play him!
ReplyDeletefrakkin cripes
ReplyDeleteWell, they got a point. An undeserved point.
ReplyDeleteWeird deflection. No blaming Booty.
ReplyDeleteIt just burns the refs that PFK has a gold medal, they're gonna make him pay for it.
