    2. I once worked with a math nerd when I was about 18. He was a waiter, I was a cook. He had memorized pi to 100 decimal places and thought he was cool. I told him I could easily do that by the end of my shift, if he wrote it out for me. I discovered I was the math nerd as I succeeded in my challenge, and that number is still stuck in my demented brain. 3.141592653589793238462643383279...................................................................

  5. Having not read or seen Life of Pi, how did that tiger get in the boat anyway? Go ahead and spoil it for me, I don't care

    1. "Shifting government policies lead to a decision by Pi′s father to sell the zoo and emigrate with his wife and sons to Canada. The second part of the novel begins with Pi′s family aboard the Tsimtsum, the Japanese freighter that is transporting animals from their zoo to North America. A few days out of port from Manila, the ship encounters a storm and sinks. Pi manages to escape in a small lifeboat, only to learn that the boat also holds a spotted hyena, an injured Grant′s zebra, and an orangutan. To Pi′s distress, the hyena kills the zebra and then the orangutan. At this point, Pi learns that a tiger has been hiding under the boat′s tarpaulin: it′s Richard Parker, who had boarded the lifeboat with ambivalent assistance from Pi himself. Suddenly emerging from his hideaway, the tiger kills and eats the hyena"

Pittsburgh gets shut out on home ice (in regulation) by the B's and Detroit gets hammered 7-2 by the Philthy Phuckers. Well then, both those losers must suck. Losing to the 'Turds doesn't seem so bad anymore. Actually, it seems all the leaders are struggling lately. The regular season always proves to be a marathon, not a sprint. People get tired.

One of the stories Steve Shutt was telling at the fund raiser last month was this: When the 70's dynasty came to an end in 1979, he mentioned several factors, Bowman leaving, Cournoyer retiring, Lemaire going to play/coach in Switzerland but it wasn't just changes to personnel. He also mentioned that the players who remained had played very demanding hockey for four straight years, not only going to the finals four times (and winning obviously) but he said when you are the champion, every team, every night, no matter how bad, bring their 'A' game against you. After four years of that a lot of them felt wore out and just couldn't bring it every night. We sometimes forget these heroes of ours wearing the sainted flannel are only human. Losing once in a while is acceptable. Or it should be.

No periods of possession...just hold the fuck on and hope TFS saves the day. He deserved a shutout tonight btw - damm shame

Why does someone that young need a phone. AT a hockey game? Was he calling his bookie? The parents should have made him leave it at home. $300 dollar tickets at ice level and he's playing Doodle-Jump and taking photos?

Price also lost the opportunity to sell the kid an autographed photo from the team website. I'd dock him a day's pay for that stunt.

Well for one thing - only 243 Million parents in the Western Civilized world are equipping their kids with phones these days - oh - so they can call 911 when someone like a grumpy Maple Leafs Gardens arena staff maybe tries to molest them perhaps.
