Great SF as always Moeman - who is the guy in the pic with what appears to be a young Susan Sarandon...? And may I add...Ballast Point - The perfect balance of taste and aroma. An obsession with ingredients. An exploration of techniques.
ReplyDeleteIt's kinda relaxing to visit the site without a need to comment on hockey, as there is still a good part of a week before any is played...Nice ones all 'round!
And the little kid hugging the puck is the cutest thing I have seen in a very long time! Extremely refershing!
DeleteFHFemmes will tell you it is Richard Gere.
DeleteI thought he looked hauntingly familiar...
DeleteK3X posted this last thread, the John Scott story in his own words. http://www.theplayerstribune.com/a-guy-like-me/
ReplyDeleteAwesome read. As I said before, it is downright despicable to see him thrown into the furthest hockey market imaginable at a time his wife is expecting twins, living in Michigan. MB should do the right thing and call him up FFS. Can the team be any worse with sCHott in the line-up, seriously? Is that, perhaps, actually the "message" the team has been trying to send mgmt with their extra-shitty play since this trade?
PS: awesome SF as always, moeman
I feel exactly the same way. The extra bit of oddity is DGMB said Geoff Molson supported the trade. Sad.
Deleteone pill makes you smaller
ReplyDeleteThe butt thermo reminds me of the funniest Trailer Park Boys ever when the boys have to get some crab shampoo
ReplyDeleteNice work moe. Listening to Dreger try to defend Wideman. Wow, the old boys club dies hard. How can you defend that?
ReplyDeleteNice work moe. Listening to Dreger try to defend Wideman. Wow, the old boys club dies hard. How can you defend that?
ReplyDeleteYou know that would never happen if it was a Hab that did it, the SFU would have a field day.
DeleteFunny thing that Lucy can face punch a zebra and nothing.
ReplyDeleteThat Beaner teflon coating is long lasting and durable.
Go John Scott
Go Habs
To be 'fair' he did just come off a 1 game suspension for a sucker punch the last game he played....lol.
DeleteNow I watched that hit on the ref and followed the links people were posting about him being concussed as the reason he hit him - he didn't know...to that I say bollocks! he was hit - yes but then he was pissed off at being hit and the ref was in his way - the same rewf who didn't make the call on the hit - it was intentional as far as I can see.
ReplyDeleteAt the end of the day, I think Scott handled the whole thing with his head held high, kudos!
ReplyDeleteGo Scott Go!!!
Been there, done this;
ReplyDeletehttp://25stanley.com/soyez-comme-carey-price-brendan-gallagher-et-p-k-subban.html
Do you think it will be the same team hitting the ice against Philly or will something happen before that?
ReplyDeleteI give it two more games. Hopefully DGMB doesn't make a panic move (this doesn't include turfing MT2).
DeleteSooooo, apparently Kovalev has been training and wants to rejoin the Habs to help them out of this slump.
ReplyDeletehttp://www.tvasports.ca/2016/01/29/kovalev-aimerait-aider-le-ch
I say go for it. If you're going to be awful, give the fans at least one thing to cheer about. Might as well make this season a full farce, but at least include a few laughs.
Reading comments, actually this might work in a way. Either get him to play the PP, or get him to coach the PP.
DeleteIf the idiot coach wouldn't give Semin a fair chance, he sure as hell wouldn't give Kovy one either. He wouldn't fit "the Process". This fool would try to make Jagr a 4th line checker.
DeleteFire eMpTy.
I may actually tune into some of the all-star festivities because of Scott to tell the truth. But it kills me that the Habs have been part of this whole sordid affair, resulting in the dumping of TinTin who has also been treated like crap by this organization (read eMTy). But the biggest fault lies with MB. He should have called Scott up for the Habs' last game so Scott could go to the game as a NHL player. It's shameful and disgraceful to see this organization treat a player like this. I've lost faith in the management from top to bottom. They could save face if they at least call Scott up when play resumes. Hell even give AK27 a shot - give the fans something to prove to us you still have that Habs heart and soul. Something. Anything. But I suspect we'll be icing the same pathetic team on Tuesday, lacking the heart and soul this team needs to get out of this disastrous stretch of games. I finally watched The Last Gladiators last night. The part that really struck me was how guys like Gainey and Robinson took the extra time to help Knuckles with his game. I'm pretty sure we don't have that class on this team right now. And that is the problem...along with the coach, much the way Perron treated Nilan like crap, eMTy uses his favourites and shits on the rest.
ReplyDeleteGo Scott Go!
Even Bab$ sent him a text, you'd think MB would let him wear the CH since he is now under contract by them or is there some rule about that? He'll be then only guy not representing the NHL giving him that much more of a label.
Deletehttp://www.tsn.ca/nhl/video/scott-blown-away-by-babcock-text~798685
Go Scott Go!
On second thought, that wouldn't work since he's not representing the east, he was voted in to represent the west.
DeleteHe's not saying firing the coach is the solution but sounds like Carbo may be campaigning to replace MT if he is.
ReplyDeletehttp://montrealgazette.com/sports/hockey/stu-cowan-carbonneau-shares-therriens-pain-as-canadiens-season-derails
From the score
ReplyDelete"Mike Commodore is spewing more vitriol at Mike Babcock.
Upon learning that Babcock sent a message to John Scott in support of his All-Star endeavor, Commodore unleashed a series of profane tweets that suggested the Toronto Maple Leafs head coach only reached out to attract applause from the media.
This is the second time he's directed aim at the "arrogant" Maple Leafs coach. Commodore previously went on a rant against Babcock during the coach's unsuccessful return to Detroit earlier this season.
Babcock coached Commodore twice, both times briefly, during the defenseman's 11-year career."

Delete1) Sky is Blue. 2) Bears do shit in the woods.3) Mike Babcock doesn't give a shit about John Scott.
I watched the AS skills competition and admit I did enjoy it. PFK paid homage to Jagr and won the break away challenge.

http://www.sportsnet.ca/hockey/nhl/gotta-see-it-subbans-got-shootout-moves-like-jagr/?row=2&row_id=1617477
Didn't watch it but according to tsn;
Delete"P.K. Subban picked up the win in the NHL's All-Star breakaway challenge with his Jaromir Jagr impersonation, but as TSN's Frank Seravalli writes, it was the San Jose Sharks duo of Brent Burns and Joe Pavelski who won the hearts with their family first display."
I saw that, SFU - always telling their leaf lemmings what to think.
DeleteSubban put on a show worthy of an All-Star on Saturday night in Nashville, reminding fans of hockey that the game, above all else, is to be enjoyed - and that NHL personalities are and can be larger than life.
ReplyDeleteSubban gets it. He entertains, and he honors the legends. Here's what we know: It isn't an All-Star Game without Subban. Not even close.

ReplyDeleteWhen was the last time PFK got shootout time. When was the last time PFK got the green light. When was the last time EMpty thought?
ReplyDeleteWhen was the last time eMpTy threw PFK under the bus to the media? You, know, the guy who's been the best player last few games?
Delete""You don't have to be the best in the world at something, you just have to be different," Jagr said. "And he is kind of different, and people love it. He's different the right way, the good way. ... It's good for the fans, they were loving that. All-Star is all about the fans and I'm glad he came. I'm very happy he did it."
DeleteSo, fuck you, Pang.
From the highlights I saw and some web pics at PFK's twitter ALL the players enjoyed themselves whilst in his all-star presence.
DeleteSFUckers can fuck off.
3 on 3! Feel the excitement!
ReplyDeleteGYFAtlanticG!
zzzzzzzzzzz
Jesus H Christ 20 minutes just to introduce the players. It's only 3 on 3! There are less of them!
ReplyDeletePFK just took a faceoff!
ReplyDeleteRef-cam! fancy
ReplyDeleteWell this 3 on 3 makes more sense than the normal 5 on 5 ASG uselessness, so that's something
ReplyDeletetied after a half. if they are tied at the end of regulation, do they go to 2 on 2?
ReplyDeletethis is moderately entertaining!
ReplyDeletePFK!
ReplyDeleteAtlantic 4-3! PFK with the winner!
ReplyDeletePFK!!!!!
ReplyDeletePFK motivated by the promise of a back rub by Amy Grant...now that's a coach.
ReplyDeleteScott!
ReplyDeleteJohn Scott scores!!!!! Go Ice Caps!
ReplyDeleteFuck heely criticising Scott because it wasn't graceful.
ReplyDeleteAlready this is the best ASG in 20 years
ReplyDeleteGod help me I swear I am enjoying this. I feel... dirty
ReplyDelete"Holy shit"
ReplyDeleteBest ASG moment in ... forever
For those just tuning in, they had Seguin miked and asked him to do play by play while he was on the ice. He did not hold back
DeleteThat was was cool, I thought heely was gong to have a heart attack.
DeleteScott vs. Kane! Fake fight!
ReplyDeleteMan they are having fun out there
Scottie!!!! 2 goals! MVP!
ReplyDeleteScott!
ReplyDeleteAll the players have banded together to support Scott, the only ones with shit on their faces is the league.
ReplyDeleteLike you, HF29, I'm also enjoying this. Go Atlantic Division Go !!
ReplyDeleteamen juce! the most fun I've had watching hockey since January 1
DeleteJennifer Nettles...I think she was the best act so far and I think PFK was really into that. PFK asked what he will do if he goes to the ASG in LA, says he's still looking for Miss right, may look for a Miss Hollywood, maybe he won't have to wait.
ReplyDeleteI generally dislike modern country music but I thought she was good
DeleteMy late brother-in-law used to be in a Western band with his parents and a drummer. My brother-in-law played lead, his mother bass and his dad was on rythyme guitar.
DeleteGo Atlantic Division Go !!
ReplyDeletePFK says maybe he'll get another massage, but not from Gallant though.
ReplyDeleteShut up Buttman you're ruining my fun
ReplyDeleteI switched over to tva.
DeleteMorisette told Scott after this, the next step would be to get him up with the big club, Scott, said yeah, he's going to have to talk the Bergy about that.
ReplyDeleteOK final here we go. GYFAtlanticG! or GYFScottG!
ReplyDelete0-0 defensive struggle!
ReplyDeleteLeo the Liar apologized to Letang for his dirty hit in the numbers....didn't apologize to PFK for that dirty hit during the season opener.
ReplyDeleteLooouuuuuu
ReplyDeleteThe goalies are paying well
Karlsson leading the Atlantic in ice time.
ReplyDeleteCrap, 1-0 in he 2nd for the Pacific.
ReplyDelete2-0 both by Perry.
ReplyDeletea review even! I love this game
ReplyDeleteTypical BishFlop, looking for a penalty...going for review, but he was interfered by Jagr.
ReplyDeletegreat challenge Amy Grant!
ReplyDeleteNo goal, they say inteference.
ReplyDeletePacific takes it 1-0.
ReplyDelete1-0 final. that was fun
ReplyDeleteScott for MVP!
Crowd is chanting "MVP" for Scott. The league gave 3 names for fans to vote on if I heard correctly. Not sure how that works if fans vote by twitter, unless they discount any names not on their list.
ReplyDeleteScottie!
ReplyDeleteOH!!! John Scott wins MVP and the car!! Bravo, Scott.
ReplyDeleteHow long does it take to drive a Honda Pilot from St Johns to Mtl?
ReplyDeleteWell this was delightful. Thanks juce!
ReplyDeleteNow I have to watch the suckitude of the Pro Bowl
I enjoyed it, thanks HF29, pretty awesome.
ReplyDeleteHi FHFolks! The Maritimers have returned home. A little earlier than anticipated, but we had a good time. The weather was hit and miss, warm enough for us with a couple rain days. Got some golf in, met some new fellow karate students at a local dojo and toured the Kennedy Space Center at Cape Canaveral. Cocoa Beach was nice as well.
ReplyDeleteLooks like status quo for my disgraced Habs. Oh well, maybe things will get better some day. One can only hope.
Cheers!
OK, some interesting things have happened since I made that comment:
Delete1) MB calls up Ghetto and somebody named Lessio. I feel better already.
2) Jack Todd advocates for the call up of All Star MVP John Scott. He argues that Big John would give the puny Habs some courage and remove some of the tarnish from the Habs (and MB's) image. I'm sold. It sure couldn't make things any worse than they are, maybe he could give eMTyhead some coaching tips. Right now a chimp could turn on the Blender(tm) just as easily.
Is Lessio the guy they got for Thomas?
DeleteI wasn't going to watch, but I was doing nothing today so I gave the ASG a go on replay. I have to say, it was pretty entertaining. John Scott totally stole the show, and now the Habs can say they have an All Star MVP on their team.
ReplyDeleteNot bad. 5/7.
Like 29 and juce, I enjoyed the profanity by Seguin on air (I don't know what they were expecting micking up a guy on the ice, especially a guy like Seguin). But I also enjoyed it when they asked the singer/coach guy in the first game if he had any bets on the table with his wife/coach of the other team and I think he repsonded, "Oh, I can't talk about that here. Let's just say we'll give new meaning to "you're going down" in our house". I think he said that, but I don't have the will to go back and make sure. It was definitely something dirty, the guys laughed pretty hard.
ReplyDeleteAlso, they mentioned something during the game that I never realized. From 1981 to 2001 only three guys won the Art Ross: Gretzky (10), Mario (6) and Jagr (5).
And after watching Jagr blow by 20 year olds, I sighed heavily thinking he could have been wearing the CH.
ReplyDeleteAnything that makes fuckface bettman look bad is good.
ReplyDeleteCongrats to Scott, aka BBJ.
“I wanted to ride my stick to center ice à la Tiger Williams, but Burnsie [San Jose Sharks defenseman Brent Burns] got in my way so I had to veer to the side and do a Subban real quick,” explained Scott, who boasts 285 games of NHL experience on his resume since debuting back in 2008-09. “I just kind of went with it. I didn’t expect to score, especially on the first shift. It was crazy. You can’t make this stuff up.”
ReplyDeleteScott does PFK:
https://twitter.com/NHL/status/693942954281537536
I was really touched when he went behind to bench and gave Chris Sutter a big hug.
Turns out that he was left off the MVP ballot by the league (they still don't get it) but people writing in made them back off. Pretty sure they didn't want to suffer another PR disaster.
I read that his helmet will be going to the HHOF. The league must be absolutely fuming.
The Ice Caps renamed their twitter account to StJohnScottIceCaps for the ASG
ReplyDeletehttps://twitter.com/IceCapsAHL/status/693988580939595776
NHL now giving Scott the first star of the week. Is that organization that stupid that it doesn't realize how pathetic this looks?
ReplyDeleteMeanwhile, Scott making out like a bandit with talks of books and movies. If MB doesn't have the foresight (which is quickly becoming hindsight) to jump on the Scott bandwagon and call him up so he is at least closer to his family (never mind he might even be able to score a few goals where everybody else is failing), then I think all hope is lost with MB as GM. Quick MB, grab onto them coattails and enjoy the ride. Scott's a big boy and will have no trouble hauling your ass back to respectability. Oh and fire eMTy.
Thanks.
Of course as I read this back I can see how others (i.e. the SFU) would view a call-up of Scott by MB as pathetic an attempt of redemption as the NHL's backpedaling and groveling.
DeleteHopefully DGMB reads some of the better Habs blogs because the LEAST the CH can do is give him some Bell Centre applause and show his wife and daughters and soon-to-be twin kids that there is a modicum of class left and give him some praise. Fuck, just call him up, you don't even have to play him. Give his beautiful pregnant wife some roses, give his gorgeous lil' gals some lifetime Bell Centre concert/show tickets. Even better, Marc Bergevin does this, himself, from centre ice, even if he has to eat a few boos. Wake me up.
DeleteEver since the aliens took over DGMB's brain (soon after signing Dish), things just ain't been the same. That remains my best explanation.
ReplyDeleteBy the end of the day, he'll have a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame
ReplyDeleteI have trademarked the movie name 'The Mighty Fucks".
DeleteYeah, well I've trademarked the name "Hah! Stick it up your ass Gary!" for the movie starring Thunder Bay's own Kevin Durand as John Scott.
DeleteI heard Wilde this morning say that the Ice Caps are creating a losing mentality, they have talent but can't win games. I guess they really do prepare them for the big club.
ReplyDeleteFire Lefevbre the same time as eMTy. Get some fucking progressive thinkers working with these players and kids.
DeleteI was listening to Marinaro and Knuckles this afternoon, it ain't lookin' good as far as the playoffs but some redemption can be had with adding some grit to this bunch of kleenex soft players. They sure miss CHarger. Nobody has the skilled players backs. BRING UP BBJ!!!
Great read;
ReplyDeletehttp://www.vulture.com/2016/01/100-jokes-shaped-modern-comedy-c-v-r.html#
Sweet find, moeman! Glad they acknowledged their USA bias.
DeleteHow bad how lonely could one istitution be in tne Johan Scott defence. Yet we buy the tickets and take the blood as infusions and so do I. I just knwow it was a false defence and we are all just introveions prostitues keeping the lungs breathing,.
ReplyDeleteI hate to say it but it is the truth if Leanord Cohon said it , it would be the death of love
ReplyDeleteand the tomstone would be all granite, and the name spelled there would be Tinorito, and when the NHL knocked down the headstones it would be called ground maintanice not violence.,
yeah I am billant with no ears
DeleteWhy wouldn't John Scott be the ASG MVP? He scored two goals (tied with the most) and was the captain of the winning team. It actually just worked out that way, but could be a total win for the league. They seem to now be trying to retroactively jump on that bandwagon, but it's too late. But in the end, Scott's story would never have been this good with out a good villain.
ReplyDeleteLet's see if MB see a good marketing opportunity when one's right in front of him. The team obviously has nothing to lose and I would prefer Scott for a few games over DSP.
