mcSplooge figured the Habs were set with Theodore and yipped that Kopitar should've been their pick. Timmins knew more about TFS™ than any other scout/director. Gainey had his back.
Happy SF all. Taking a break from slogging in the heat (still working on my landscaping) and tune into a bit of SFU with lunch. Holy fuck they're still pushing the PK story. While I appreciate BBB finally speaking out yesterday, one of the reporters asked him directly why the PK trade speculations won't go away, and I just wish BBB had said "Because you fuckers made it up and won't let it go." Except in a more pc way.
Probably won't bother watching the draft. If so, I certainly won't tune in until well after AusMat has had his life sufficiently destroyed by being picked by the compost heap and the SFU have finished bukaking the tv cameras.
"The NHL is looking at a complain of tampering after what #canucks Jim Benning said yesterday regarding Steven Stamkos and PK Subban."
Yet the league did squat when the torontosporsnetwork's local radio station handed out banners to fans going into the arena saying 'sign stamkos' with the TSN logo proudly displayed - if that's not tampering, then I don't know what is.
btw, back to the Habs. Am I crazy to be hopeful that Bergy is actually a wily cat, letting all the other GMs waste valuable time and resources scheming up pointless possible packages to offer for PK? And he knows he absolutely will not ever trade him. (Sorry, for a second there I thought Bob was still our GM - my bad)
I want to know what Mc Splooge thinks about PFK trade. the opposite will be true. The Oliers can afford to overpay, I see PFK moving. The 4th Hall, Yak, and a quality D man.
Been list ten ing to SFU radio two stations one outlook. Its funny how monopolies behave in the same way. So the leaf will pick Austin, but he will never play for them I predict. He will either be fully empolyed healing the sick, catering banquents by muliplyining fish and turning water into wine, or he will be Trumps VP pick. He is the most amazing human on earth after me.
Holy Fuck. If PK was a leaf would he be getting this much attention from the tsn talking (fat)heads? I'll be glad when July 1st comes to shut those assholes up.

Hey guys! I'm late to the party 'cause Mrs. Maritimer and I watched a movie on Netflix and I've been fast forwarding through all the snet bullshit. So, Wow, MB ditches one of Arrogant Fuckface's doghouse favourites and a DD roadblock. Poor Lego, poor Steve, his avatar is now like Big TiTs, only a memory.
I like the Andrew Shaw pickup, someone mentioned CHarger above, I was thinking the same thing, he's tough but got better hands than Prusty. I like the pick too, if it wasn't going to be Dubois or Nylander the Russkie was the best choice, replacing General Vodkov down the road. MB didn't fucked up.

James Duthie @tsnjamesduthie 17m17 minutes ago Ottawa tried to trade up to Buffalo's spot to get Sergachev. When that didn't happen, they were very happy to move up to 11 to get Brown.
Eh, whatever. Sad to see Eller go but I'm sure he'll thrive in Washington which he had no chance of doing in Montreal. Both trades smell of MT and old time hockey relationships. At the end of the day, doesn't change much.
But while reading about possible trades, I kept seeing speculation that MTL is realistically in the hunt for Stamkos. Personally, I don't see it happening. It did get me thinking, though. When's the last time the Habs had a superstar skater? I only count Price (though he has more to prove, i.e. a Cup) and Roy to be actual superstars in my lifetime (1980 onwards). I also put PK on the cusp of this distinction, but he still needs to do more in his career. I believe I remember reading a while back that Damphousse was the last Hab to end up top 5 or 10 in scoring, and that was in 93 or so.
Never mind superstars, how about elites? Ok, they've got Patches and PK now. Before that...I mean they had some names but at the end of their careers (Briere, Vanek, Kovalev, etc). Koivu was awesome, but I'm not sure 'elite' given his actual numbers and injuries.
Anyway, just goes back to the fact that I doubt Stamkos ends up in Montreal. The Habs will just have 3 lines of 4th line grinders as long as MT and MB are around. But Price is healthy now, so our world is saved. For now.
So they have two buzzing gnats instead of one, still no elite forward, a bunch of 5th line stiffs and a goalie with a wonky knee. I don't see a whole lot of improvement for the immediate future. Bargain Bergy has set the bar low, not any where close to Montreal Canadiens level. Oh well.
Good luck to Lego, I liked him as a player but he was miscast by a moron coach who never liked him because he was a threat to his little lap dog favourite. Hopefully the Caps and Trotz will get him a shot at the Cup.
Goodbye Lego Just like the Halak trade the return seems bag puckish. Two second round pics for Halak in the end. Lego and big TiTS together were awesome, I will always remember that. Turns out BBB complained to the league about Benning.
"I was not happy and I’m still not happy about that," Bergevin said Friday, per Jason Botchford of the Vancouver Sun.
Bergevin filed a complaint with the league regarding Benning's radio interview. "The league is looking into it," he said.
Benning also said he planned to call Steven Stamkos' agent when the free agent interview period begins Saturday. After the NHL spoke with Benning about the tampering allegations, he refused to discuss any players that belonged to other organizations."
"He crossed the line," Bergevin said. "I don't know where the line was crossed but he definitely crossed the line. It can't happen."
Who? Oh, another smurf. Trevor Timmins who is vertically challenged himself sur like the under 6' crowd. I think Habs need to hire Jared Tinordi as their head scout if his playing career doesn't pan out.
A 5'-10" center and 3 defencemen taken so far... Goals? We don't need no stinkin' goals. It just keeps getting better. Houle and Tremblay have returned.
What I like about whatvi have seen here is that he seems to have a quick release. Short backswing then a good hard shot on the net. Maybe he can teach PFK a thing or two about accuracy...
The LEGO move really bugs me, my avatar is now worthless. Could we really not get more for him, two second round picks, chances are more in that they never play in the show than doo. Meanwhile DDD gets protected mins and PP, I just want to cry but my tear ducts are dry now after 24 hours continuiosu use.
Hey Steve I feel your pain but we have to move on. We all know the Gauls and the Vikings did not get along. eMTy wielded a bigger sword and had a nation behind him. In this day and age of the buttman salary cap it is money in and money out, guys like Lego and Big Tits are a dime a dozen.
I am more down because next season will look very similar to last season. Shaw will not score any more goals than Lego but because he can kill off PFK's penalties, eMTy will be satisfied and he is no threat to wee Davey's status. The newest Russian will not be any help he is only 18 years and has to go through the Personal Development Program. Captain Kirk will have to be a miracle worker.
Perhaps more evidence that Bargain Hunter and Empty Cranium are not as good as they think they are. I am more convinced that my beloved Habs have been hijacked by Dumb and Dumber. They are worse for the loss of Steve's Lego.
The Habs draft picks are tainted with a form of small pox, forcing the owner of said picks to draft tiny individuals. With #39, the Hawks drafter a 5'7" forward and with #45, picked up an under 6' defenceman.
So BBB picked up CHevy, Skeeter (Bitten is the size of a mosquito) and Mr. Freeze (DC Comics - Victor Fries is Mr Freeze...and who doesn't like Fries and Mete?!) and 3 other guys - Sleepy, Sneezy and Dopey until they prove they deserve a real nickname.
And the S FUCKING U still won't let the PK thing go. FFS IATG I guess. Thing is for PK, as far as getting respect from the league and other fans, he'd probably get more anywhere else. But fuck them all. He's a Hab forever. And one day when the foxhole is destroyed, he and Price will bring us back to respectability. I DO still believe that.
SFUckers will never shake their white way mandingo lust for PFK. Yeah, I went there. Fuck em.
Reading some interesting reviews of the new baby Habs. 6 picks, feels like a lottery. Good luck to all of them. Eat UR Wheaties!
I too believe that TFS™ & PFK will bring us #25. It will be glorious.
Should SergaCHev pick up some solid FrenCH (danses à dix are a great starter course), we may have to nic him Bill, as in 101. ((I gotta dig up the BT (bertrand raymond) favicon)).
Might be the first time I type it but definitely not the first time I think it but steph leroux is a fucking xenophobe.
CHevy picked up English almost as quickly as some would take learning to recite the alphabet. He might just be able to master some French in short order too, some people just have an aptitude for learning languages while others can never master one.
First Big TiTs and now Lego, the players with the best nicknames since the Rocket traded away for bags of pucks. We should have given Chicago two seconds to take wee Davy. I am afraid to pick a new fav player because he is sure to be traded.
We keep getting all the players Bergy fell in love with at Chicago. Why did we not get Brandon Saad. Lego could have beeen part of that package, Instead we are building a team not of big tough grinders, of little ankle bitter grinders. Lead by the worlds smallest Zamboni DDD.
Habs have a projected cap space of $9,696,668, I wonder how much of that BBB will give Shaw. Strange that he wants to give him term and he hasn't even played 1 friggin' game. Shouldn't he have to prove himself first, like a certain Norris Trophy holder had to do? Can you imagine what would have happened if PFK ever verbally abused a ref like he did? Fucking double standards.
People can think whatever they want about PFK, like him or not but he sure has taken a lot of shit from the current management and he somehow rises above it and lets it roll off his back, many would have demanded a trade to get the hell out of dodge long ago. PFK earns what he earns, if they weren't so hell-bent on trying to break his spirit instead of embracing it and gave him term and the reported $5M or $5M+ he was asking for then, there wouldn't be all this 'trade' drama there is now due to his NMC and salary. BBB created his own soap opera and July 1 can't come soon enough for me when PFK can give them the middle finger.
Sorry, but all the love and kisses thrown around publicly by BBB at the draft sooner than they can put his name on the jersey has rubbed me the wrong way. Not saying that I don't like Shaw but it's like how some would feel towards the teacher's pet. Hopefully BBB will manage the dollars without favouritism merely because he brought him to Chicago.
Ha Ha Ha like that will every happen. First game of the year I am going to have my wife tie me down. Cause when little davy hopes over the boards for the center PP spot, I am going to lose it. Just watch EMty put gCHuck back on wing.
He hasn't done enough yet. Shaw will not help up front, they need at least two legitimate top 6 forwards. Can he sell Montreal to any top tier UFA? All it took to get Petry to sign was some poutine. He can't count on youngsters like Ghetto or Lekhonen to be much help because eMTy will bench them at the first opportunity. We all know this. If BBB decides to stand pat and count on Price remaining healthy, I suspect they will be a lottery team again. Price can't score, so unless he pitches a lot of shutouts they lose more than they win. That's my nickel's worth.
Can't say I'm full up on CHevy but if he comes in as the next CHArger with more goals/points, I'll be cool with it. Hope DGMB doesn't overpay or overstay the term.
Agree a point getter/scorer is missing. Whomever that ends up being better not be fucking railroaded by MT2. CHevy, because CHI and Coach Q, isn't a dump and chaser. Cap'nK will see to CHanges.
Brian Wild hits some very good points in his assessment but I won't buy into it until Canada Day, when PFK is here to stay. I am convinced that top scorer everyone says we need (I agree BTW) will come in exchange for him. I don't trust BBB - he's a fucking ego maniac snake. I hope I am wrongdoing really hope I am wrong...
@K3X Part of me says no way he trades him but a tiny part of me has a nagging doubt. BBB filed a complaint with the league against Benning for confirming he had talks with Montreal. My thought was do GMs typically do that? and I thought maybe you doth protest too loudly, then I read reports that other GMs also complained so maybe not? I guess the bottom line is I just don't have enough faith in him, though he did finally give PFK some 'praise' publicly. Then the doubter in my head thought maybe he was doing a little 'marketing'?
BBB would be a complete fool if he moved him. See how they screw with our heads?
Everything you have said, Juce, I agree with. The problem I have is one of trust. He's a weasley sniveling coward sonofabitch and I don't trust him as far as I could throw him. His "performance" at that end of year jerk off was the final straw for me. He knows best and fuck you if you don't like it. I've never been so insulted in all my life! Besides Price, the only other name he has is PFK yet he wouldn't cross the rink to piss on him were he on fire! If he gets offered a starting top 6 player from anywhere along with a draft choice, he'll take it - mark my words. I won't sleep easy on this front until I wake up Friday morning to find that PFK remains a Hab...
"It would be horribly tragic if my ability to protect myself or my family were to be taken away," Sheats wrote in March on her Facebook page, "but that's exactly what Democrats are determined to do by banning semi-automatic handguns."
...and then she fatally shoots her own daughters in the back.
I once read an article comparing Bergeron and PleXXXe and the comparison of stats and roles for both vs the turnstile of linemates PleXXXe has had. Quite telling, I'll post if I find it again.
Scotty Bowman gives high praise for Shaw. He also writes that the Hawks invited him to join them at the draft and he spoke with many scouts and when the Habs selected Sergachev they told him they would not regret their choice and that they all believe he could have played in the AHL last season because he's very talented and mature for a player of his age. Bowman says this kid could just be BBB's life-preserver when Vodkov and he wouldn't be surprised if he makes the team next year.
I think SergaCHev's nickname is CHevy, lets call Shaw "Cable".
I don't think Bargain Bin will trade PFK for a high end forward unless it is for someone like Crosby. If he does manage to pull it off he as to have an elite D coming in a separate trade as well.
Pierre LeBrun @Real_ESPNLeBrun 5m5 minutes ago Pretty big deal that Habs able to not have any NMC/NTC clauses in Shaw deal; that's the new ``get'' for management these days; flexibility

"He crossed the line," Bergevin said. "I don't know where the line was crossed but he definitely crossed the line. It can't happen."
Bery sounds very Trump like to me
DeleteHappy 18th Birthday Mikhail SergaCHev.
ReplyDeleteWelcome to the Montreal Canadiens. (added a pic, kid looks great)

DeleteHappy 18th! Said if he gets the chance he believes he could play in the NHL next season.
DeleteProbably doesn't know who's coaching here.
Emty sees players as ants in an anthill

ReplyDeleteVictor Mete is a leaf fan.
ReplyDeleteWho? Oh, another smurf. Trevor Timmins who is vertically challenged himself sur like the under 6' crowd. I think Habs need to hire Jared Tinordi as their head scout if his playing career doesn't pan out.
DeleteA 5'-10" center and 3 defencemen taken so far... Goals? We don't need no stinkin' goals. It just keeps getting better. Houle and Tremblay have returned.
ReplyDeleteGuess he's counting on KidA and Shaw for those.
DeleteMichael Pezzetta also a leaf fan.
ReplyDeleteConverting them one at a time.
About SergaCHev, apparently when he arrived he didn't speak any English and after only 8 months he's speaks extremely well.

What I like about whatvi have seen here is that he seems to have a quick release. Short backswing then a good hard shot on the net. Maybe he can teach PFK a thing or two about accuracy...
DeleteVodkov 2.0 with speed! (man, that is some heavy combo deal)
DeleteIt's too funny, in 2013 Charlie McAvoy tweets "I hate the bruins so much" and now he's their 1st round pick.
ReplyDeletein unviverse 2 Lego is still with us
ReplyDeleteFor Bitten we shoud call him TB for True Blood
ReplyDeletesome days the world makes no sense but that was yesterday
ReplyDeleteThe LEGO move really bugs me, my avatar is now worthless. Could we really not get more for him, two second round picks, chances are more in that they never play in the show than doo. Meanwhile DDD gets protected mins and PP, I just want to cry but my tear ducts are dry now after 24 hours continuiosu use.
ReplyDeleteHey Steve I feel your pain but we have to move on. We all know the Gauls and the Vikings did not get along. eMTy wielded a bigger sword and had a nation behind him. In this day and age of the buttman salary cap it is money in and money out, guys like Lego and Big Tits are a dime a dozen.
DeleteI am more down because next season will look very similar to last season.
Lego I dont know how to quit you
DeletePerhaps more evidence that Bargain Hunter and Empty Cranium are not as good as they think they are. I am more convinced that my beloved Habs have been hijacked by Dumb and Dumber. They are worse for the loss of Steve's Lego.
Deletehttp://www.habseyesontheprize.com/2016/6/24/12028188/lars-eller-trade-andrew-shaw-montreal-canadiens-analysis-draft-day-2016-habs
Sad to see a solid Hab like Lego go. I'm labelling MT2 as Dumbest. I hope SergaCHev never comes near him.
DeleteThe Habs draft picks are tainted with a form of small pox, forcing the owner of said picks to draft tiny individuals. With #39, the Hawks drafter a 5'7" forward and with #45, picked up an under 6' defenceman.
ReplyDeleteSo BBB picked up CHevy, Skeeter (Bitten is the size of a mosquito) and Mr.
A FHFuckin' Men!
DeleteLovin' the CHevy nic!
DeleteSFUckers will never shake their white way mandingo lust for PFK.
Damn its hot! (pitCHers of moejitos help, a lot).
Be well you beautiful FHFuckers!
CHevy works, Emty will drive the Chevy to the leevee and milk it dry.
DeleteCHevy picked up English almost as quickly as some would take learning to recite the alphabet. He might just be able to master some French in short order too, some people just have an aptitude for learning languages while others can never master one.
DeleteFirst Big TiTs and now Lego, the players with the best nicknames since the Rocket traded away for bags of pucks. We should have given Chicago two seconds to take wee Davy. I am afraid to pick a new fav player because he is sure to be traded.
ReplyDeleteWe keep getting all the players Bergy fell in love with at Chicago. Why did we not get Brandon Saad. Lego could have beeen part of that package, Instead we are building a team not of big tough grinders, of little ankle bitter grinders. Lead by the worlds smallest Zamboni DDD.
ReplyDeleteHabs have a projected cap space of $9,696,668, I wonder how much of that BBB will give Shaw. Strange that he wants to give him term and he hasn't even played 1 friggin' game. Shouldn't he have to prove himself first, like a certain Norris Trophy holder had to do? Can you imagine what would have happened if PFK ever verbally abused a ref like he did? Fucking double standards.
ReplyDeletePeople can think whatever they want about PFK, like him or not but he sure has taken a lot of shit from the current management and he somehow rises above it and lets it roll off his back, many would have demanded a trade to get the hell out of dodge long ago.
Steve - take one for the FHF team and adopt DDD as your new favourite player. And eMTy as your favourite coach of all time.
ReplyDeletethats a better plan then bergy has
Delete6/30: 1st buyout period ends, there's still time to buyout DDD.
ReplyDeleteHa Ha Ha like that will every happen. First game of the year I am going to have my wife tie me down. Cause when little davy hopes over the boards for the center PP spot, I am going to lose it. Just watch EMty put gCHuck back on wing.

DeleteDDD gets 3.5 for scraping the ice
DeleteWee Davey should be traded to Ottawa for a $25 gift card from LCBO. Boucher loves him.
ReplyDeleteA good read. We may not all agree but some solid points.
ReplyDeletehttp://montreal.ctvnews.ca/call-of-the-wilde-in-defence-of-marc-bergevin-1.2962169
DeleteGood points the M.
DeleteCan't say I'm full up on CHevy but if he comes in as the next CHArger with more goals/points, I'll be cool with it.
DeleteWilde has always been a supporter/defender of Lego.
Delete@K3X Part of me says no way he trades him but a tiny part of me has a nagging doubt.
DeleteBBB would be a complete fool if he moved him.
DeletePretty cool when you're singing for donations and this happens.

Lego's confernce call as quoted by Arpon Basu
GO YOU FUCKING LEGO GO!! All the best man, you are gonna be done right by Trotz instead of that fucking egomaniac coaching the Habs.
DeleteAgain, per Basu:
DeleteUnder Michel Therrien, Lars Eller's most frequent linemate at 5-on-5 was Alex Galchenyuk. He played 38.2% of his total 5v5 minutes with him.
For comparison under Therrien:
Desharnais: 59.3% of his 5v5 minutes with Pacioretty.
Plekanec: 35.8% of his 5v5 minutes with GIONTA
Gionta's been gone for two seasons and he:
1) Remains Plekanec's most frequent linemate under Therrien
2) Their frequency almost beat Eller
Then someone asks: and the other 62.8% with whom?
Hardly definitive 38%! and he answers:
In order: Galchenyuk, Prust, Bourque, Sekac, Gallagher, Plekanec, Weise, JDLR, Gionta, Andrighetto, DSP
