it was a nailbiter. I stayed up for and I'm paying for it today. Damn pools - wouldn't give a rat's ass about that game otherwise! :) But down to a 1 in 5 chance at taking home about a cool grand. Not many good options next week though.
We debated the Habs winning and the fact that AF's career would be saved by TFS™. We aren't leafools looking for losses around every corner, despite the genius of Blabs.
Flicking around during the commercial break and noticed that weird show Aftermath was on where they talk about the WWE. Though not a fan of WWE since it was WWF (Macho Man/Hulk Hogan/Jake the Snake days) thought i'd check on what Jackie Redmond was wearing. Lo and behold, it's begun. She's wearing a leafs scarf. It's only a matter of time before you tune into HNIC and see the whole crew decked out in leaf garb. Needless to say i was very disappointed. And now down a goal FFS. Bah~!
Ya know we're really starting to see that Galchenyuk is by far the cream of the 2012 draft class, despite his coach. Yak has been benched more often than not this season I believe and I didn't realize the rest of the top 10 drafted were defensemen. To be fair, I'd say the leafs' Reilly is probably the best of that crew though #2 overall pick *snicker* Ryan Murray plays in Columbus and has been dealing with injuries.
just saw the highlites. WTF is CHucky going to the bench with the opposition ALREADY inside his zone, already WITH the puck?!? what the hell is he thinking? was he instructed to do this? did somebody on the bench calculate that the odds would be likely the remaining 3 could pick it off for and send him on a breakaway? thats the best i can come up with...
... but this is twice (in a row) CHucky has lost a game. i love the guy, but im just saying...
Lego 15 games 2 points (goals) -2 playing 15 min a night PFK 15 games 3 goals 5 A - 7 playing 24 min a night Chip 13 games 2 assists -1 playing 11 min a night SSR 17 games 2 goals 4 assists plus six playing 16 min a night gCHuck 17 games 6 goals 12 assists plus 12 playing 16 min a night DDD 16 games 3 goals 3 assists plus 2 10 min a night but last night 16 min a few seconds more than gCHuck
oleg, I imagine the bench figured 'the system' (aka Carey Price) would hold down the fort at 3 on 2 for the 6 or 7 seconds to get a new body. Bad break on the goal with the broken stick muffing the shot off of N8's skate. Just a string of bad luck on that goal. But I agree taking a penalty in hindsight would be the better option. In the words of Belichick 'we're off to Carolina'.
taking a penalty, due to the puck control inhrent in 3 on 3 play a penalty might have meet a a 4 on 2, so it would be a risky play. the only way to mitagate the risk is to insure the penalty resulted in an injury to one of their top uroligists. So go total Brezzui or go home.
the rash of injuries is hitting the NHL like a bad dream. I have long had the soluition. Men where not meant to be over 200lbs flying around at 30mph blocking pucks going 120 mph. So the NHL must adopt my height and weight cap. As a bonus a team of gorillias like Florida would welcome a trade for the newest most valuable commodity in the league DDD.
It's beyond me why the Habs remain one of the smurfiest teams in the league. I can understand having maybe two but since Gainey's purge in '09 it's ongoing.
DD Gallagher Byron Turtleplex Shaw Mitchell Ghetto Leko Auto... and on and on.
These guys might (if Price stays healthy) get you TO the playoffs but not THRU them. The laws of physics eventually kick in and the gorillas take over. In buttman's league size matters just like in the porn industry. CHe will run out of gas by game 60 and gCHuk will be playing 10 minutes a night in favor of DD. It's all in the Process(tm) as designed by emty.
Bring back George Laraque! Did we have a nickname for him?
Shouldn't anything short of the Stanley Cup be considered a giant failure? I don't care if you lose in the 3rd OT period of Game 7 of the finals...you still LOST! Let's ask the Cleveland Indians who lost in the 10th inning of Game 7 if they feel like winners. I'll bet not. If the boss is saying the goal is to make the playoffs, then a new boss is required. The goal should ALWAYS to be to win. Period.
You either win the Stanley Cup or you (hopefully) have a decent team that didn't win the Stanley Cup. If you're not playing as a team to win the Stanley Cup, why are you even bothering...?
Its not an entirely fair competition, but if you are ever in Toronto you can compare Frank to fellow superstar Daniel Liebskind. Daniel did the ROM crystals for which I am not overly critical its just theys look shoddy. Frank did the facade and some interior work on the AGO which is very street cred.
Engles says Habs interested in Coyotes' Martin Hanzal. I know little to nothing about him other than he's 6'6" and taken in the first round of the Crosby draft. Turns out he and wee ddd are both earning $3.5m this year, with his cap lower at 3.1 and both UFA's at the end of the year. Again, i know nothing of his hockey talent, but nonetheless it sounds like a perfect swap. Do it BBB.
If DBMB can pull off that trade, he should immediatly be given bronze statue in front of the Bell Center status. It would be for a Rocket a Saturn V trade.
I'd take Hanzal in a heartbeat. Slots on at #2 center behind gCHuk and puts Turtleplex at #3 where he belongs and makes the littlest zamboni irrelevant and on the Rock where he belongs.

ReplyDelete@Saint Paddy - See, I told you my Giants would come through. I didn't say it would be easy.
ReplyDeleteThe Habs have called up another smurf. They must have the market cornered on those guys along with 5th line specialists. BBB is a genius!
