That is some sexy Friday, although that Anthony Bourdain pic kinda weirded me out...
ReplyDelete"It's looking more and more like Tavares will be staying with the Islanders." One can only hope...
Hey theM.
DeleteFits in with the regular themes of sexy, food, fun and cool people.
I really liked the guy. Sad to see him leave like he did.
—-
How’s the body? Getting a few rounds in on the greens?
Agree about the yahoos screaming like yahoos at the Open. STFU!
Hey man, the back is slowly improving, not golfing too much, too much tourqueing and twisting to play a lot. Going to try 9 holes once a week and build up gradually.
DeleteYou could probably still smoke St. Pad.
Delete😎
I have no words. It just keeps getting worse...
ReplyDeleteSigh.
straight up - 23-year-old Max Domi now a Hab. gCHuck over to Arizona
ReplyDeleteEvery Russkie has been purged from the team. Mission accomplished Clod.
ReplyDeleteYou will never win the cup with Russkies, ever!!!
DeleteMax was the top forward on the 2015 gold winning Canadian World Juniour team. He has type 1 diabetes and has to check his blood sugar every 15 minutes during games. 5 foot 10, LW or Centre, good creativity and has to work on how to play without the puck. Grew up a Leafs fan, of course, but that should give him some jam playing for an original six, eh? At least his dad shouldn't be a problem. Still, I will miss gCHuck
ReplyDeleteSMH
ReplyDeleteI'm interested in your thoughts. Domi fits bergevin's modus operandi ... less skill, more grit. I predict that Zadina is off the table, it will be Tkachuk or a defenceman.
Deleteyeah i know. Thinking about what we lost to get him should come into it too. And we lost a proven talent for a possible one, albeit with two more years before going UFA. The better contract is really the only thing Domi has on gCHuck. And I guess the organization really was finished with him big time. Which I don't get.
DeleteUp next for your enjoyment... Pacioretty for Lucic... and maybe one of Montreal's 2nd rounders thrown in since bergevin likes to give more than he receives.
ReplyDeleteHA! That wouldn't surprise me one iota.
DeleteGreat work as usual moe.
ReplyDeleteFuck you bbb. Imagine if they afforded him the same opportunities as his golden boys DDD and Druid.
Thank you for your service as a Hab, gCHyuk. Truth be told, you're probably better off being away from this so-called management.
Going to be a presser at 1:00. Probably have him sign a big-money/term contract in public.
ReplyDeleteoh yeah we got lots of cap space. props to Bergy for managing the cap space. he should be careful or there will not be enough NHL players on the team to get to the floor.
DeleteWhat we dont know must be the reason. Bobby Clarke was type one, and had no tech to regulate. My son is type 1, today its just a pain in the butt more than anything. However DOMI for gCHuck straight up, WTF. Did no one watch the playoffs, half the goals where one timers from gCHucks office. I just dont know what to think anymore.
ReplyDeleteOur only hope is that Buttman quashes the deal as too one sided. Hmmm maybe that John Scott deal had a footnote. Trade your best player to the Yotes for a smuf with upside.
ReplyDeleteTherein lies the first issue with this trade. Galchenyuk was arguably the biggest trade chip Marc Bergevin possessed in his arsenal, and all he got in return was a player who scored nine goals — four of them into an empty net — last year. With no additional picks, prospects or any other assets, the Canadiens traded away their biggest piece of leverage for a single roster player who has 18 goals in the last two seasons combined, and that quite frankly is just not good enough.
Please alert the fire department. There is going to be a major dumpster fire in Montreal draft weekend.
ReplyDeleteThanks for being a Hab gCHuck. Unfortunately for you, you actually said that you loved being one.
ReplyDeleteWelcome to Montreal Max. Time will tell if there’s room for two Max’s.
I think one of the bigger culprits here is MT2. He didn’t like the kid, just line couldn’t stand PFK.
Despite the new contract, not sure the Habs win this trade. Par for the course.
D just said Patches isn’t likely leaving. Based on previous experience, he’s gone.
What frost my balls is all the pundits saying, we freed up cap space. BLOW ME WITH YOUR CAP SPACE!!
ReplyDeletePFK, Lego, Druion these all had some meat on the bone, this one just looks like genocide
its ironic when the person with the best read is silenced by the chatter.
ReplyDeleteUnless there is a smoking bong at the end of this story this trade is just a level below trading St Patrick, with out the fury or reason. I am ready to say this ship is being sailed by fucking asshole.
ReplyDeleteI've been AWOL. So, ah wtf happened? I like MiniMax but liked gCHuk more. gCHuk, among others, have been mismanaged by a group of out of touch, old (and possibly racist) backward thinking dumbasses and he is far better off, even in fuckung Arizona. I'm happy for him to be away from this group and hope he scores 40 goals as AZ's #1 Centre.
ReplyDeleteLike Weber/Subban, it's a sideways move at best. I hope they don't draft Zadina, they will ruin him too. Skilled players go to Montreal to die these days.
Deleteat least you were quick with the nic MiniMax
DeleteHappy Father's Day to all you Dads! Enjoy your day.
ReplyDeletethanks Juce, dont know if Bergys and dad, but he makes me feel like an orphan some times/
DeleteIn gCHuk's case, it was complicated by his father's omnipresent picking on his every move, according to RDS's François Gagnon. Every home game, papa would take him aside for a post-mortem lecture, and text him between periods with nitpicking and shit. Another former beat reporter told me yesterday that was 100% true, and added there was no one in team leadership that was willing to stand up with him to his dad over all this nonsense, and it was constantly fucking him up. Which led to looking for ways to tune it all out between games. Hopefully Arizona is far enough away to get gCHuk away for that garbage.
ReplyDeleteThat said, I sure hope MiniMax (great nick, Saint Pad) lives up to his potential here too. $3.15 M per season on two years seems generous to me, but hey, cap room ain't an issue around here.
Interesting, sounds like Bonnie Lindros. Bobby Clarke hated her, she would call between periods to complain about his ice time.
Delete*Eric's ice time*
DeleteIn light of this, perhaps the steadfast refusal to play him at Centre towards the end was mgmt's way of indirectly getting to père Galchenyuk (like fighting among the "parents"). I bet AF was unhelpful in his hard-ass approach. gCHuk coulda used JT2 earlier in his career perhaps? In any event, at some point, the child has to grow up to be a man and stand up for himself when he has an overbearing parent. Something PatCHes and Captain Kirk and TFS and BBQ - for all their supposed leadership - were never able to help him overcome, apparently.
DeleteOn the bright side, I can finally afford that official gCHuck tshirt. In total I have saved over $100 dollars now buying on the trade.
ReplyDeleteNo matter how good the deal, I have a moratorium on purchasing Habs gear until management indicates to me that they've turned this rig around, whether that's with current staff or all new people.
DeleteHear! Hear! I have the same moratorium three years running now. Speaking of three years... for 3 years in a row:
DeleteHabs Trade Cow for Magic Beans...
not a total loss say experts.
Christmas before last the family got me an authentic jersey. I sent it back.
DeleteI am a bit late to this but let me start with expressing my horror at another complete giveaway from bbb. What a fucking moron! GCHyuk for Domi straight up strikes me as a "I want rid of this guy so what'll ya give me?" No upside to this giveaway. I refuse to call it a trade. That implies equal value on both ends. And still, Geoff Molson, who is apparently very active with what goes on with the Habs, does nothing? BBB must have video of him and a small animal. How can one man beallowed to completely dismantle a team only to rebuild it in his image as a player - a mid to shit player at that. He played in the league for 20 years but I never remember him being anything other than a journeyman stay at home average to shit defenceman that you wouldn't notice from one game to the next. I would trade him for Max Domi and no one would bat an eyelid...But Chucky? Give me a fucking break! Arpon Basu wrote a great article in the Athletic about how completely fucked up the management of GCHyuk has been. I wish him well in Arizona. I also guess I have to welcome our new 1st line winger and wonder if there is room on the Habs for 2 Max's...my guess is no! ...NOAR - BTW! And happy belated Father's Day
ReplyDeleteI read somewhere that Habs were going to trade TFS for Hoffman's girlfriend.
ReplyDeleteI still say TFS goes before 1 July...
DeleteMB and Price to NYI for Lou and JT. Do you do it?
ReplyDeleteNo more playoff beards....oh wait.
DeleteI wonder, were those reporters there to personally witness those interactions between gCHyuk and his father? How do they know about the texts, did gCHyuk say 'hey guys look what my dad says?" Did they read the texts? How would they possibly know? Unless, they were fed that by management so they can feed a narrative favourable to the team. I don't believe anything that comes out of management's mouth. If they tell me the sky is blue, I'll look upward to see for myself first.
ReplyDeleteThey put everyone at centre and would even try the beer vendor rather than putting gCHyuk back there. My belief is that they simply didn't want to be proven wrong. The poor kid was screwed over mentally and poorly developed. Probably didn't know if he was coming or going.
JT is not coming to Mtl. Trades are hard. bbb knows all about giveaways but fuck all about proper trades. Besides, JT would have to be mad to want to join the circus now known as the Montreal maple leafs
ReplyDeleteAnybody remember the Ballard leaf of the 70's and 80's ... and how they (Ballard and King Clancy) would denigrate and embarrass their star players and eventually trade them away? That's where we are at now with the two fools running the Canadiens. Many more dark days, if not years, ahead.
ReplyDeleteGM still needs to dump or re-assign BBB and get himself a competent President of Hockey Fucking Operations before we see a real change in direction towards that elusive Cup #25
DeleteSiM - Everybody in the hockey world (even us dumb fans) know this, except for Ego 1 and Ego 2.
Delete2yrs/300K raise offered to Trotz? I'd walk too.
ReplyDeleteRound these here parts, we give coaches, good or bad, big money and long term at the drop of a toque and no Cup.
ReplyDelete"Due to a clause in his contract, Trotz had a two-year extension that was automatically put on the table upon winning the Stanley Cup, but it would have paid him below market value and the sides were unable to agree on new terms"
ReplyDeleteUpcoming UFAs -- JVR, James Neal, David Perron and Kovalchuk. All left wingers. If Ego 2 (thanks SP) stays true to form, all will be Habs on July 1 ... then converted to centers.
ReplyDeleteYeah...but they can play center...thwy are true pros...😀
DeleteHey, the odds are one of them would work out. Drouin could then shift to be backup to Price... hee hee!
DeleteI hope people are offended by my poking fun at the clueless bergevin, there's nothing else to talk about.
*AREN'T offended*
DeleteSome people probably will be though...
Fuck em if they can't take a joke. We have to put up with bbb so they can accept the shots...
DeleteJust read an interesting fact...bbb has now traded the 2009, 2010, 2011, & 2012 1st round picks that the Habs have made...so building through the draft clearly isn't part of the master plan...Big Mac must be nervous...
ReplyDeleteRemember all his complaining about how they aren't fortunate to pick in the 1st round because of their standings? He just trades them away anyhow.
DeleteI've had a recent epiphany. As you may know I was high on Tkachuk even though my Moosehead PZ was ranked higher. The so called experts are now fucking with their rankings, moving Tkachuk up to 3rd and the Finnish C to 5th. I honestly think this is to solely fuck with Ego2's brain. "OMG there's that franchise centre we so desperately need!"
ReplyDeleteBut in the end (and here is my epiphany) I got to thinking we now have Max Domi. Max's Dad spent a few years in the Peg with none other than Keith Tkachuk. BBB himself spent a season or 2 in St Loo at the same time as...Keith Tkachuk. He has shown to like familiarity with his Chicago connections, and I think we will see that trend remain at the draft as the Habs take, yep a left winger in Brady Tkachuk (but he played C a few games).
Add to the fact that we've seen him recently ditch the likes of Markov, Radulov, Sergachev, Jerabek, Galchenyuk and replace them with (no doubt grittier) for the most part, North American players I won't be surprised to see TkaCHuk (tCHuk?) Taken over a Zadina or a Kokanemi or what have you.
Anyway that's where I sit regarding the draft but nothing he does will any longer surprise me. I will be tuned in. Catch you there.
FZ not PZ.
Deletenot being a great skater, never mind. A poor mans Tom Wilson. If McSplooge would do it??
DeleteDammit St Pad I am a MD not a GM.
At this point we are just a development team for the rest of the league. No make that a holding place for talent.
If the Habs draft a center they will have AntiNiemi and Kotkaniemi on the same team...but they won't ...they will pick Tcachuk
ReplyDeleteTimmins will want skill and scoring (Zadina) while Ego2 will want grit, toughness and CHaracter, whatever that is. Tkachuk it is then. Giddyup! We don't need no fucking goal scoring. It's highly overrated anyway.
ReplyDeleteI suspect bargainbin looks at his lineup every morning with his coffee and thinks: "Look at dese players, Stanley Cup winner! I got da bess goalie an' da tuffess defenceman in da league, no way we can lose!"
I look at his lineup and see pylons on D, perimeter players (kidG excepted) galore and a headcase #1 goalie. The Habs will be out of it by mid-October again and Aunti Niemi will take over the net by November. Tkachuk will be playing at Boston College again and bargainbin will be shuffling 5th liners and 8 and 9 pylonD's in and out of the lineup. It's all good. Lose for Hughes!
I want Kotkaniemi. Plays Center, dammit. And Finnish, like Koivu and Leko. Can't read or understand the french mediots AT ALL. It works great, believe me!
ReplyDeletewe need to be on a add a smurf subtract a smurf roster. That why Kotex? He bleed red white and blue. Is my choice. Z is not that highly rated for a number 3, way less than Drouin or to an extent gCHuck * injured draft year.
DeletetCHuck cant skate pass
legalize it!!!
ReplyDeleteWe'll be a nation of potheads in a generation.
DeleteI think bbb is in a permanent haze.
DeleteHabs took Tkachuk out for dinner. A load of crock probably on the menu.
ReplyDeleteAlso Kotkiniemi...just to throw us off.
DeleteThe more I read about this Finnish kid, the more I'm OK if they pick him. He won't play in the NHL next season and that's OK too. It really won't change anything... build through the draft, it's the smartest plan. Hopefully TT implements it.
ReplyDeleteJust trade the pick and put out of our miserly already. . it will happen eventually anyway!
ReplyDeleteI miss you guys. Hi everyone!
ReplyDeleteI just popped in to share my new invention - the bourbon diSaronno ice cream float! I don't know what I put in it but I already forgot whatever painful trade Mickey B made this week
To the draft! Let's make sure to screw that up so we can all enjoy some bourbon diSaronno ice cream floats together
Glad to see you back!
DeleteMy biggest fear is bergevin trades the #3 pick to Chicago for Jonathon Toews in a desperate attempt to make the playoffs.
Your concoction sounds delish!
Westworld fucking rocks!! Just finished episode 4 ... Wow!!
Bourbon disaronna ice cream sounds pretty good. My fav all time shot is Jack with a disaronna top so that I e creme is bound to be great. As for the draft - bbb is a fucking egotistical asswipe so it's a complete crap shoot. Nothing will surprise me, he won't draft a centerman and he is going to trade good shit for bad...sadly i almost no longer care...almost...
Delete29!
DeleteSo it seems we could be worse off. Two years ago our esteemed GM traded away this year's cover of the EA Sports NHL 19. On the same day, Chiapet traded this year's league MVP.
ReplyDeleteOddly, it would have made so much more sense for each team if those 2 players were swapped rather than the trades that actually happened.
I dont think we can handle the draft, can we just take a pass?
ReplyDeleteIn other Karma related news, we are trying to Peddle Patches when the donut boy is the shiny thing.
Been busy and get this, locked out of our blog by Google.
ReplyDeleteThey tried to data mine Steve but he wouldn't bite. Looks you were next ... probably trying to figure out if we will buy Habs merchandise. HA! My embargo is still firmly in place.
Deletenever give your cell phone number to strangers. However if people who all ready know it ask, do not acquiesce.
DeleteGoogle will soon be telling you your shit is too runny and Doctor Doctor Doctor (senior moment name gone) I want to say Dr Phil but no its Dr Rechi says, a Chinese wife will cure that.
.
Trick question over at Snet ... What does bargainbin have up his sleeve before the draft?
ReplyDeleteAnswer: His arm.
Seriously, this franchise is dying a death by a thousand cuts with this clown in charge. It'll be interesting to see what shenanigans he pulls off in the next two days. Wouldn't surprise me one bit to see Carey traded.
I'd actually be OK with TFS being traded. So long as Leon Draisaitl is part of the return.
DeleteFrom the moment he signed his new contractbi have said TFS was a goner. I will eat my hat if he ever plays another game forward the Habs. Bbb is a dick btw
DeleteI would actually like to see us trade TFS and BBQ for those two NYI picks this year and maybe some prospects and picks next year. We at JT and we are instant contenders, unlikely to win. But NYI has some more assets to win now.
DeleteIf we make a get to the playoffs move I will not be surprised, and feel like a leaf fan as my life runs out.
bad joke what does Hitler have up is slevees, his armies
DeleteK3X2:16 PM
ReplyDeleteFrom the moment he signed his new contractbi have said TFS was a goner. I will eat my hat if he ever plays another game forward the Habs. Bbb is a dick btw
I've updated Pic 2 based on this comment.
Holy Fuck! That's sketchy!!
DeleteMan, all these weird rumours about "The Dick" trading the 3rd pick for Ryan O'Reilly. That's fucking insane. Not even the Master of Disaster bergurvan could be that fucking stupid could he? If he did that Trevor Timmins should walk up and punch that fool right in the mouth. If he didn't I'd have to drive to Montreal to do it myself.
Great job St. Pad!
DeleteYeah the M, not sure who creates these rumours, but ROR for the 3rd pick is a sure way to have me tune out in October. Thanks K!
DeleteRyan O'Reilly AND Jack Eichel couldn't get Buffalo into the playoffs why would anyone think ROR would get the 28th place team there? Even a healthy Weber doesn't get the Habs in. THEY. CAN'T. SCORE.
DeleteI wouldn't bother to look it up but the Habs were shut out umpteen times and only scored 1 goal many, many times. Not that I watched the games but I saw the scores the next day. It was embarrassing to be a Habs fan.
so M you are saying we need a number one center and a number 2 d man. You should be GM.
DeleteWith Leapin' Lou and Barry Trotz now running the Islanders, it looks like John Tavares is going nowhere...unless Doug Wilson entices him to come to San Jose, his most likely destination with Jumbo Joe on his last legs. Too bad, he would have made a great left winger for Montreal.
ReplyDeletesee my post above, lets admit TFS and BBQ can work their fingers to the bone here, and all they will get is bony fingers.
DeleteThe Dick biggest day of his life is tomorrow. The horror the horror.
ReplyDeleteOh the humanity....
