  4. I had a very busy day off, but not as busy as this SF. Wowza!
Great win by the Herd. Bonus they beat SFU prospect in net. I picked up some tickets to see Nature Boy hopefully do the same thing Tuesday night and hope it's the first of many in the years ahead. I wonder if BBB is in town?

I read an article this morning in the local newspaper by Michael Traikos of the National Post I believe, that if his leaf had gotten by Boston in the first round, it would be they who would be Stanley Cup Finals bound. Rather presumptuous don't you think? The SFU still like to make it all about them, when it nothing to do with them. You lost. Get over it.

That being said, I predicted a while back that I believe the wretched, putrid leaf won't have as good a season point wise in 2019-20.

    1. I think the players, particularly matthews will grow weary of his act and start to block him out.

    2. With three players (maybe four if they keep wee willy) tying up the majority of their cap space, their depth will be even worse than it was. Pat Hickey suggests that bergevin offer sheet marner, which you know little dumbass will match and then go after Kapanen to join the Habs growing Finnish Family.

    3. Fast freddy andersen is over-rated.

I'm looking forward to the off season.

      2. There's a reason Matthews signed for 5 years

      3. I'd love to see DGMB offer sheet a leaf

      4. Andersen reminds me of the extremely overrated cujo, good in season, suck in the playoffs

  6. please please, offer Billy 10.58 Mil which is the border from two first to 4 firsts. Then when the leaf Match go for Kpanen, HA HA.

At least the Raptors lost, when that big star walks away it will be beautiful.

The Rags are going to hit paydirt, so are the Avs, I predict the Avs win the cup next year.

  7. NOAR Moeman. Just back from a week of hell in Tranna...Kudos and huge respect to all at Sunnybrook and the Odette centre - giving my Ma great care ...But what a shitshow they have going on in that fucking city. All raptor love from one miracle shot to win...nothing! Sports pages have zero coverage of anything not Raptor related right now and I couldn’t even get the guy in the bar to put on the hockey game last night as I waited for my flight back Apparently a lot of people wanted to watch them get their as handed to them again...have mercy on their souls for they know not how deluded they actually are.

  13. Who, in their right mind, gives a serious fuck what SFU like kypridiot and hahahrudey have to say? Its always about their lame playing days. Then you have gum (and jowl) flappers like friedMan and mclame saying what exactly? What horrendous, weird people.

    1. the Maritimer5:44 PM

That panel is pretty fucking lame. kypridiot is still suffering from post concussion symptoms and talks incoherently. hrudey, knows some stuff but is boring as fuck. fried-man has an arrogant air about him another version of insidredger, knows fuck all. mclame, I can tolerate him for the most part except when he is leaf blowing then he is an annoying fuck. I actually don't mind burkie, I sort of get a kick out of his crusty act and, unlike the smug asshole fried-man, he actually does know things that dweeb can't. The most intelligent hockey panel is on tsn (excluding mcsplooge) and all they can do is watch the snet cretins fuck it up.

    2. After being in tranna last week and having watched the intermission a couple of times of realise that every time I saw hahahrudey come on the screen I wanted to punch him right in the face. Every. Single. Time. Right. In. The. Face.

Steve, I wouldn't write SJ off just yet. They've already won once in Missouri, no reason they can't do it again.

    2. If St. Lou gets the cup, Big Bird gets his 10th ring. I am good with that.

  15. I'm pulling for St Loo as that will leave one putrid franchise that has been playing since at least the 67-68 season to not have a cup.

      2. Halifax's Lavoie looks good, big kid. McCarron 2.0?

      3. SJ has been awful, series should be over.

      4. leafools all hot and bothered that Willma (stole it from the Twitter machine) is scoring on Italian and Norwegian team.

      5. Habs had next to no centres, now an abundance. Does Domini go back to the wing?

      6. Roy in Ottawa? He'd make the SFU shit even bigger bricks. He should ask for 8 years and $50.1M.

      7. Go Milwaukee Bucks.

      1. Agreed

      2. I think Lavoie is ranked higher than Big Mac ever was and has more overall skill. Better skater?

      3. Wouldn't write them off yet, Couture has been good.

      4. Who?

      5. I think Max would be even better on the wing, Kid Koho or EAP should be his center to free him up from to much defence responsibility and they should be groomed for a top 2 spot anyway.

      6. Agree.

      7. Yup.

Enjoy! Saw them back in 2005 at Magnetic Hill in Moncton, N.B. Best concert I ever saw in my life. The opening acts were a Quebec band I never heard of before or since, Our Lady Peace, Maroon 5, and the Hip! (RIP Gord). The crowd was estimated at 75,000 ... we stood for 7 or 8 hours for the duration (we got to close to leave and lose our spot) and then walked at least a mile or more to get out and back to the hotel. It was worth it but I'm far too old to ever to that again.

    2. That is some cool shit theM. !

Saw the Stones in Buffalo in 79. I was 18, surrounded by a bevy of 'older' beautiful concert-going gals. Flipping the tables this time. They can check me out.

My aunt has a beautiful home less than 2 Kms from the venue. Crashing and re-crashing there.

Going with my daughter, her BF (huge Habs fan) and younger sister.

$200 per tic is peanuts for a Canada Day long weekend of rock n' roll !

In typically Canadian fashion, I. Am. Fuckin. Stoked!

I think, if Gord (RIP) was still with us The Hip hits the stage again.

The Stones always have great bands setting up the big show.

The Quebecois band you reference is/was Les Trois Accords. Good rockin' outfit.

    3. Man, googling Magnetic Hill + Stones has some awesome links/content.

    4. Hey I was at that concert too the M! While I like the Stones just fine, I am way more of a Who fan from that era. Sadly never saw them. And as good a 'show' as the Stones put on at Magnetic Hill, the energy that Gord (RIP) and The Hip brought to that stage was just friggin' amazing and was by far my favourite part of the day/night.

  17. GOT finale good, but last six episode rushed needed some polish.

HOCKEY NIGHT IN CANADA is finished, Huawie is broke and they will have no sponsor.

There might be less risky picks than Renissance, two good D Men, top four sure things with size. Going to be an interesting draft, may be another historic one.

The thing to remember about China, is 3,000 years later, they still haven't figured out how to reverse engineer a fork or spoon

    1. I would say GoT as good as the finale could be considering how they effed up the previous episodes. Actually no, there was still a better way to go and that would have been to make Bran an evil SOB and show us through flashbacks how he has been puppeteer to all this season, with the final goal of sitting on the (to be rebuilt) throne the end scene with him with an evil little smile. Oh, and with the dragon at his side (whom he also controls).

    2. the Maritimer3:04 PM

I was fine with how the series ended. You knew the Mother of Dragons was toast, it was just a matter of who would pull the trigger. So to speak. The Starks all ended up running something and Tyrion actually won the Game of Thrones, as chief advisor to the new king. The most touching moment to me was Sir Brienne of Tarth writing a nice tribute to Jamie in the book. He had redeemed himself over the course of the show and couldn't help being faithful to his sister ... errr... Queen. Or whatever.

Too many people got bent out of shape over Season 8, I thought it was fine except for the Night King being dispatched so easily. That was a little anti-climactic.

BTW, Steve's comment about the spoon and fork cracked me up last night.

Hey, anybody else watching the HBO mini-series Chernobyl? Holy fuck! Talk about reality TV, what an incredible look at a near miss for a global disaster! And the behind the scenes look at the primitiveness of the Soviet Union communist regime is incredible. How did that outfit ever last as long as it did? Great performances by the actor playing the lead nuclear scientist and the excellent Stellen Skarsgaard as the Kremlin's point man trying to get the situation under control. Highly recommended!!!

  18. The Memorial Cup has been very good so far.

I could say that I'm disappointed that snet has the coverage BUT,

I love Caroline Cameron. She is such a well-prepared and consummate professional.

She is also gorgeous. A naturally beautiful young woman that hopefully has nothing but success.

When he first came up a while back I ripped RJ Broadhead but snet forced him to spew leaf bile. He is a very good play-by-play man.

Good on CHeese to be analyzing junior hockey. Warriner is also good.

The biggest takeaway is how refreshing a broadcast can be without the usual SFU.

    I miss Jody Vance.

I see Nature Boy scored a couple more tonight. I'm looking forward to him being a great Hab down the road.

Looks like the Blues will be playing the dirtbag broonz. Let us pray that buttman and jacobs don't influence the outcome. Maybe I will do a novena this weekend.

Tyler Bozak has had a great playoffs ... bet he doesn't miss the putrid fucking leaf and the SFU.

  19. Wow, what a treat to see Suzuki play live last night. He has, as they say, silky smooth hands. Had both a beauty of an assist and a beauty of a goal. And a nice bank shot off the leaf prospect's ass.

That said, I think a year in Laval playing with the big boys should be in the cards. But then who woulda thunk that KidKo would have made the lineup last year. So what do I know?

Yep there has been some great hockey. It was sloppy at times last night, maybe the boys are getting worn out.

Agree with moeman re Caroline Cameron. I was not far from the broadcast location last night so during the breaks got to watch her, and at times, Tara Sloan. A couple of classy ladies. I find Tara impressive because she deals with McLame all year but maintains her integrity. And she killed O Canada the other night.
