  3. Following the absolute debacle of our rookie tournament, should the red team lose today we must tank.
By my impeccable math the leaf must dump 2 million in salary to get to the cap.
Little known fact, Edwin Snowdon married his pole dancing instructor girlfriend two years ago. Maybe we should call Edger Allen Pole Dancer Snowy for short?
You can never have too many candidates for the number 7 defense spot, and why not add Julis Honka a finn former number 14th overall pick who never panned out. It is going to be real interesting to see where the Jewel fits in this year. KULAK!!!
I predict neither EAP/Snowy or Nature make the squad out of the gate. The season will start with no rookies. This will really handicap us to win the rookie of the year. We will get Rangor Lothbroke.
I predict we do make the playoffs and will defeat the leaf in the first round. Cant see beyond that.
PK Subban will retire, join the Canadian Olympic team so he can be with his sweetheart in Tokyo. Mindful that Tokyo is within the Fukusima hot zone, both will have important baby making samples in the deep freeze. I want at least 3 children.

  4. NOAR moeman!

According to Engels, MB is interested in some D man from Dallas named Honka. There is a lot we could do with that. And he also says it would be player for player. Hudon or Big Mac would be likely candidates.

The late Johnny Bower once made a Christmas record called Honky the Christmas Goose. Wonder if they are related. Speaking of geese, those fuckers sure make a mess all over the golf course, crappin every where they gather. It's like walking through a minefield trying to not get gooseshit on your shoes or the wheels of your cart. They should let the hunters come in and thin out the herd...

Nice new header btw... Very clean.

  10. Very nice header indeed!

Hey the M, got out for nine holes yesterday and pain free in the wrists (knock wood). A par and 3 bogies pretty decent for my first real game this year. Also totally effed up on 2 holes (we max our score at 8), so shot a 48* (probably really a 52 or 53).

The M I've made some questionable decisions with my fantasy team...but I have Pat Mahomes so still doing OK. Drafted the Pats D, then dropped them for the Dallas D before week 1. D'oh!
I do have a couple rookie receivers on my bench that I might start trusting next week in McLaurin with Wash and Hardman with KC.

Fathead Blob names his Top 20 draft picks for the 2020 Draft in Montreal. Two intriguing players with pure wool names, Lafreniere (#1) and Lapierre (#7). Maybe no playoffs lands one of those kids for Les Canadiens. No. 20 is Saint John Sea Dog defenceman Jeremie Poirier, maybe he would be the consolation prize for a first round exit. I'll keep a close eye on him this season.

  24. If one is to believe the shit from hockey media of any ilk let alone the SFU, the Jets offered Laine a contract worth $5.5M/year. If that's the best they've got to offer isn't either offer sheeting for Laine or Connor OR working out a trade one of MB's 'must do' items before the season starts. Tell Chevy you're going to offersheet in the $8M range (which would cost a 1st,2nd,3rd) OR trade Drouin, 2nd, 3rd for Laine. I prefer Connor's overall game, but the potential of a pure goal scorer like Laine is hard to pass up considering Stephane Richer was our last 50 goal scorer (I think).
I think he'd need to move somebody to make the offersheet work, but the move is included in a trade.

Gotta admit I'm feeling 'meh' enough about this season, I'm thinking of cutting the cable. Hockey and football are the only real reason I still have it and I can get all the football with DAZN and try streaming the Habs if I get in the mood. Tatar - Danault - Gallagher
    Lehkonen - Domi - Suzuki
    Drouin - Kotkaniemi - Weal
    Byron - Thompson - Armia
    Cousins - Poehling - Hudon

    Mete - Weber
    Chiarot - Petry
    Kulak - Fleury
    Reilly - Folin

The Canadiens announced that Matthew Peca, Philip Varone, Karl Alzner, Xavier Ouellet and Dale Weise will be placed on NHL waivers today at noon (12 p.m.).

So we see the roster rounding into form and I am no more enthused today. I don't know if Druid is trade-able but in a package with picks to Winnipeg for one of their young guns, even eat a bit of his salary. Would be worth it. But I'm sure big trades that could actually benefit yourself are hard to make.

Well, that was an epic trip. Greetings FHFriends!! The ol' Right Wing Maritimer and his Center (and best friend) Mrs. TheM just returned from the wilds of Alberta after a 10 day journey starting in the City of Edmonton, to Jasper, to Banff, to Canmore, to Calgary and back to Edmonton. The drive from Jasper to Canmore down Highway 93 is spectacular beyond belief. If you have never experienced the Canadian Rockies I highly recommend it. Pictures cannot do it justice, you have to see it in person. I felt so small at times.

We met with several family members and friends from Saint John who have relocated west over the years. It was so good to see family who we haven't seen for years. We were shown lots of interesting things and places in both cities and wined and dined like royalty. It was one of the best trips of our lives. I even got a round of golf in and shot 89 playing a new course for the first time and using strange equipment. Pretty happy about that. I wouldn't hesitate to do it again.

I have been following the Habs happenings, all the best to my favorite Right Winger, Guy. Nature Boy looks like a lock with EAP and Cale Fleury close behind. Too bad about classy vets like CHip and Alzzzzzner but that is life in the NHL. Somebody else is always trying to steal your job.
