      1. I wonder if Gomer watched any videos of himself playing last year? If he did he should know he will not be any help to anybody. If the MUST play him, 5 minutes a game on the fourth line.

      2. Kaka may be slimmer and lighter but he still will not go into the corner to get the puck, especially with a ferocious forecheck coming at him. Deer in the headlights?

  14. I'm actually starting to get interested in hockey again...read all the HIO articles about Gomer and TFS and whatever else they had there...I like Gomer's take on last season..."We didn't make the playoffs...now fuck off and ask me something else..." (I paraphrase) If it's genuine then good for him - Maybe he'll surprise us all.

Moeman - excellent SF once again. I loved watching MASH. That Hawkeye - what a guy!!

I love Norm MacDonald. What a fantastic writer! Can't believe he picked the Colts and Redskins though. I still want to get a dachshund and name him Wiener Dog some day. I like his picks for this weekend. Habs have the best celebrity fans, bar none!

I'm getting excited. Not sure I can stay away. Might break down and shell out the five clams for RDS after all. We'll see how things look on the 19th.

  21. As far as P.K. Subban knows, there is no contract yet awaiting his signature.

The Canadiens restricted free-agent defenceman spoke from his Toronto condo Friday afternoon, having just received an acupuncture treatment as he continues to get ready for the Habs training camp he hopes he’ll be a part of.

Rumours were blazing in Montreal on Friday, Rod Francis of TSN Radio 690 reporting that he had information from an inside source saying that the Canadiens on Saturday would announce a four-year, $22-million contract with the popular defenceman.

Lebrow not invited to training camp, speculate away. I don't see him as a top 6 forward. Probably a decent 3rd line center.

As far as the Habs season, well, they did finish 28th last year and all they really did was add a 6th defenceman and a couple of tough 3rd and 4th line guys. Will Markov make THAT much difference? If Price can steal enough games for them they can get to the dance. Other than that, the season will at least be mercifully short.

    Maritimer, out.

    2. Lebrow is being FUCKED by the Bulldogs, and with the Habs he should be on Eller's line (he's being used as a winger anyway). But geez he's only been playing barely even a season down there considering he got called up and down and all around last year. The major part of my concern is the coaching in Hamilton. Lefebvre has no clue what he's doing or how to use him let alone anyone on that team (put Chaput--ECHLer who lucks into a few goals--before him on a shootout, doesn't give him powerplay, puts his best offensive defenseman with the fucking fourth line blockheads, etc).

They talk about the process, but how do these guys progress when the process is like "hey kids, go skate and stuff...hockey, yea that's my system". GET THE BULLDOGS A REAL COACH.

Also Leblanc had a high ankle sprain. That's in the way. But he's played very good. Just no one fucking scores on that team and most of the time, he's alone on an island.

    3. the Maritimer2:48 PM

It's kind of a shame about the Bulldogs, they aren't going to get the elite forwards like GCHuk or Collberg, so they will struggle to score.

@N31, you follow the AHL team closely, how is Beaulieu progressing? Is he getting any PP time?

      Delete
    4. Beaulieu is the guy trapped on the D pairing with the fourth line out but yea he gets powerplay time. (But the forwards are like wtf Chaput/Dumont/Blunden which is more of a LOLerplay. It's like when Carbo got all weird and put the fourth line out for on the powerplay once. Remember Tom Kostopoulos out there? Just like that). It's all fucked up I have no idea what these kids are learning here... Bring back Cunneyworth!

  35. The guy is a fucking dick! He starts his presser by saying the leaf is the crown jewel of the nhl - fuck off! More like the clowns of the nhl. The guy is deluded. The world is such a better place with him looking in from the outside. Get over yourself you cock! The only problem we will have now is that some fucking bright spark in tele land is going to think he needs a platform to spout his fucking bile and we will have to listen to him every time we watch a hockey game. Glad I have to stream shit from abroad - saves me listening to him.

  45. This pisses me off.

The guys running Hamilton are a fucking JOKE and if this team loses Leblanc because of all this shit then FUCK THEM ALL. I watched this kid play from when he was in Junior. He's a fine fine player and who the fuck cares how he skates?! He plays like Mike Richards without the head shots. He gets down the ice in his own way, it works for him, he's fucking fast and he has great hands. It's like trying to tell Patches to change the way he skates 'cause his ass sticks out (never mind one or two strides and he's already down the ice). When they had a shootout last time and Leblanc didn't even get a call and they LOST I completely lost it and lost any fucking hope for the Bulldogs and that coaching staff. Hiring Lefebvre was a big mistake, especially with all the new kids coming in. They need a VETERAN coach down there to properly develop these players and not some fresh new French guy. Hell if you want a fresh new French guy GET A FUCKING COACH FROM THE QMJHL ALREADY. At least he would know more about systems and special teams over changing D pairings.

JOKE. Fucking Commodore Slowmodore gets a look in camp but not Leblanc?! Asswipes. He spends the whole fucking time between an ECHLer and a fourth liner and they expect him to produce? It's like Avtsin. MAYBE YOU'D SCORE MORE GOALS IF LEBLANC/AVTSIN/GALLAGHER WERE A FUCKING LINE. (Note: Avtsin and Leblanc were a pair last year when they managed to be together. Flight of the bumblebees, always dangerous). Especially with Palushaj and BamBam injured.

Let's also not forget that Leblanc was a rookie in Harvard, left for the Q and was a rookie there, left the Q to be a rookie in Hamilton then called up quickly 'cause of injuries to be a rookie in the NHL. The Eternal Rookie. You can't even call him a Sophomore... He's a player who really really really wants to succeed and if this team is cockblocking him then they're no better than the last administration.

    ReplyDelete
  48. I'm a little nervous about PFK now.

The pact was based on an insider’s report to TSN Radio 690’s Rod Francis, and the idea spread like wildfire through the city.

Until Meehan wandered in with a firehose.

“Nothing could be further from the truth,” he said, laughing no longer. “And I capitalize all of that.”
    http://www.montrealgazette.com/sports/Agent+Canadiens+Subban+shoots+down+contract+rumour/7809599/story.html

    And this tsn tweet:
Negotiations always subject to change on moment's notice, but sense is RFAs Benn (DAL), Subban (MTL), Kulikov (FLA) not close at this point.

Wonder who the other 11 douchebags were that were OK with voting to kill the season and hence end any chance of ever regaining the trust and support of fans again?
