DeleteOK BERGEVIN THANK YOU! They recalled Leblanc and a bunch of other Bulldogs for camp. YAY.
ReplyDeleteAlso they sent Gomez home so he won't get injured playing. They won't be able to buy him out if he plays. Put that man in a bubble!
I think MT2.0 had a hand in it.
DeleteActually it was more for the intra-squad game. I might attempt to enter the Bell Centre for that. Bulldogs are in fucking HeyAbbotsford.

DeleteDude. Bergevin calls them "Pleky" and "Noki" and all my fears have been alleviated. Now...if they'll just announce a coaching change in Hamilton I'll be totally cool.
ReplyDeleteGotta say Gomez was a classy Hab. Did he give it his all, all the time? Nope. He seemed to enjoy wearing the CH. Merci et salut.
ReplyDeleteits the end of an era. Two minutes Gomer for looking so good/
DeleteDGMB just the other day said Gomez was part of the team, obviously, he couldn't say this was his plan all along, but still.
DeleteHe also said his priority was to sign PFK before training camp. Is he really thinking of a trade? But then why would he have gone to speak to Meehan in Toronto yesterday?
What will he do if there's an offer sheet?
Is arbitration an option?
Agree, Gomez was always respectful.

ReplyDeleteFor this organization, signing long term contracts is more unsafe than running with scissors. Everything over two years should require a province wide referendum.
Out of respect for #Habs captain Gionta, Coach Therrien called him into his office this morning to personally deliver the Gomez news to Gio.
ReplyDeleteDecent.
DeleteThis is a serious thought with my GM cap on. The Leaf should sign Gomez. He could help that team.

ReplyDeleteSo long Gomer, as soon as you put that #11 on your back you were screwed. Couldn't carry Saku's jock strap. Although he did have a decent first season, the last two couldn't justify that cap hit. His signature move, carry the puck over the opposition blueline and put on the brakes, so predictable.
ReplyDeleteCaught some vid of PatCHes, Josh and gCHuk.
ReplyDeleteAs much as I think that Josh is the team's rock and I love listening to his steady and sound comments, PatCHes (and I am not looking beyond Gio) is maybe my next CH Captain.
gCHuk is wearing #27. Discuss and use artistic descriptions.
#27 = Kovy on the half boards or taking a one timer from Vodkov. We can only hope.

ReplyDeleteI am a little worried about the defensive coaching for example Brezzer is quoted as saying " always let the puck carrier blow by you, thats whey you have a goalie"
ReplyDeleteThank god the notebook has been thrown away. Its going to be a puck pressure system, how many psi on the puck is a secret. I think your going to see a three men low and two high by the blue system. That may have been the deciding factor in the Gomez decision. MT2.o said "Gomez he never crosses either blue line, there is no system for that kind of play"
ReplyDeletePressure systems, lows, highs, psi or kilopascals, sounds like MT2.0 should have been a weatherman.
DeleteGomez would cross the blueline and throw the puck in the corner to the opposing defenceman then peel off to the bench. MT2.0 said fuck that send Kaberle into the corner instead.
The notebook, wasn't that Chokula's laundry list?
Lets hope PFK signs in time for Mondays icetime.
ReplyDeleteWatching interview with Darche on TVA regarding negotiations.
ReplyDeleteSays Fehr both internally with players and at the negotiating table, he was always calm, never losing his temper, even when Buttman's emotion was rising and falling.
Quite interesting.
The last 18 year old to make the Habs, what will happen to gCHuck, but if you look at Tyler Sequin there is no way he should be sent back.

gCHuck will make his NHL debut playing LW for Lego with Giant on the right, its the word of Steve.
DeleteWTF would she ever see in him? Must be his personality.
ReplyDeleteWow.
ReplyDeleteHow about he was fired because the Leafs suck and his vision was crap and his mouth was bigger than his ego. The weird timing of it is because Rogers/Bell/MLSE are even worse than him.
ReplyDeleteHi there 4HFers...Happy "First Snow of the season" Day in London! Glad to see that DGMB finally finishe reading the CBA in full and discovered the "Santa" Clause that allows him to get rid of Gomez. Let's hope he gets PFK sorted soon. He needs to get into camp quickly!
ReplyDeleteI've gone through the comments and it's great to see actual hockey stuff being discussed again! And Steve, whilst I have been hard on Lego, if he shows me he isn't a floater and puts in the effort I will back him to the hilt. Hopefully he has rid himself of whatever shit was going around the Habs dressing room. Like Tom Cruise shouted "Show me the back check!". He does that and pops in 20+ goals and I'll believe the hype.
Go Habs Go!!
I still miss Saku Koivu, perhaps the last player to truly understand what it meant to put the bleu, blanc et rouge on. Well, Hal Gill knew what it meant as well, he just couldn't put the flash behind it.
ReplyDeleteI don't think the younger generations of players will ever understand it as the glory years slip farther and farther into the past. It's one thing to look at all the history in a museum or read about it in books, but to have actually witnessed it like some of us more mature fans, I kinda doubt it. It's all about the money now.

ReplyDeleteMONTREAL – With six days until the season-opening puck drop, the Canadiens are celebrating the occasion with a week’s worth of “Hockey is Back!” festivities, including two opportunities for fans to see the Canadiens at the Bell Centre leading up to the opener.
On Thursday, Jan. 17, fans are invited to take in the team’s Red vs. White scrimmage at the Bell Centre, free of charge. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. for the 7:00 p.m. game and seats will be available on a first come, first served basis. Fans in attendance will also receive a free combo meal, consisting of a hot dog, chips and a soft drink.
Two days later, on Saturday, Jan. 19, morning skates at the Bell Centre for both the Canadiens and the Toronto Maple Leafs will be open to the public. Doors open at 9:00 a.m. and seats will be available on a first come, first served basis. The Canadiens will hit the ice at 10:30 a.m. and the Leafs will practice at 11:30 a.m. Fans in attendance will also receive a free combo meal, consisting of a hot dog, chips and a soft drink.
Fans looking to gear up for the season can also take advantage of 50% off all Canadiens merchandise at the Habs Zone boutique at the Bell Centre, on Thursday, Jan. 17 and Saturday, Jan. 19.
I dont know why the morning skate is not open to the public every game, charging for food and drinks of course.
DeleteI may have to go to Montreal to take advantage of the t shirt discount. Normally they discount a non hab shirt 50% that means Gomez will be free.

Delete"Not all the people who govern NHL teams have a hockey heart," Medvedev was quoted as saying in some Russian media reports.
ReplyDeleteTheir hearts, he added, are made "from another material and has money signs stuck to it."
He was upset that Russian stars such as Alex Ovechkin and Evgeni Malkin weren’t allowed to stay and play in Sunday’s KHL All-Star Game, although fellow NHL stars Ilya Kovalchuk and Pavel Datsyuk did.
"Several clubs look down on the international aspects of hockey development and think that it's better to stew in your own stock. They could have released the players without any harm, but greed has strangled them and they didn't allow it," Medvedev was quoted as saying.
