  1. Really liked Peter Fonda, seemed like a cool dude that took fame in stride.

    Might be a bit hard for some but great tune by The 1975;

Got to love Domini and how he describes the Habs. On tranna radio/tv no less.

Looks like KidKo have put on some muscle. Hope he hammers Marner, in November, or whenever.

On stay/vacay, heading to QC tomorrow.

Hope everyone has and is still having a great summer.

    Peace FHFriends.

  6. Another fine collection, moeman. See the vids of the discussions on Caufield by the CH braintrust? It's good stuff.

I never saw Easy Rider but Ulee's Gold was a pretty good flick as I recall

    2. You have to watch Easy Rider, its the counter culture film of all time. The best part is for the most part its a great movie. Maybe a little slow moving a little worse for wear and tear by todays standards but still great. The kicker Jack Nicolsan is a a passenger.

Congrats to Rory McIlroy on winning the FedEx Cup ... and a cool $15 mil. Not a bad pay out for 4 days work ... if you wanna call it that. So that's it for the PGA season, up next NFL football and my Fantasy football draft is this Thursday. Man, the summer just flew by. NHL training camps just around the corner. The Sea Dogs are already playing exhibition camps, none in town though. It's such a beautiful evening I feel I should be doing something but I already hiked Harbour Passage this morning (about 4kms) and mowed the lawn. I think I'll just sit in and have a drink. Or three.

Oh, @Saint Paddy, shot a 79 last Friday at Rockwood Golf course. Made a 10 foot birdie putt on the 18th to nail it. Only the second time I ever broke 80. Cheers!

    2. 79 wow! I've had to take the rest of the season off. Wasn't doing my wrist injuries any favours by trying to play. My dream is to one day become a low 90's player. I can retire in 6 years...maybe then.

Good showing by Brooke Henderson too, finishing 3rd at the Canadian Open.

I had to select my 2 keepers by midnight. Was back and forth and now don't know if I kept Travis Kelce as my 2nd pick or James White as my 8th. Think I went with White. If Kelce is there at 13th I can still get him, but if not, lots of good options. Ialso kept Mahomes as my 10th pick. We draft next Tuesday.

    3. * I pick last (12th) but traded my first round pick last year.

@Saint Paddy, I did't start breaking 90 until I was in my 50's. I took lessons two springs in a row and once I started applying them (it wasn't easy) it took 10 strokes off my score. Then, you have to play at least a few times a week to get a feel for the short game, which is the most important part. Also, you have to stop trying to kill the ball off the tee and on fairway shots, which I am still guilty of occasionally.

We don't do a keeper league for football. Crazy stuff about Andrew Luck, eh?

My biggest wish for the upcoming hockey season ... Nick Suzuki makes the team and proceeds to rip it up scoring-wise, gets more points than matthews and marner and wins Rookie of the Year. Also, leads the Habs into the playoffs. Basically, stick a knife into the CotU and give it a little twist.

    1. Agree 100%.

The Habs have stocked up on some very good prospects and have something like a dozen picks next year already for the 2020 Draft in the beautiful city of Montréal. Was there yesterday, my God the spectacular women! Oh, back to hockey, EPA could also be a rip-it-upper. Fun to see the SFU keeping quiet about how good some of the new kids on the CH block could do.

  12. Hey all - I too have been somewhat MIA this summer but "lurking" is occasionally allowed I am told. So here I am back again after the UK's early Labour Day Bank Holiday weekend. I am also quite looking forward to see what hapens this season with our beloved Habs. I thin that Poehling and Suzuki will be very interesting. The D is still suspect beyond Dish and BBQ but maybe this is the year that Meat scores a goal or two and that the new guy they got - completely forget his name - does what Alzzzzzzner couldnt ever so - stay home and move the puck quickly. Liking Max's determination to convince us he loves being a Hab, but I don't much care for his Insta feed predominantly featuring his old man in way too tight stretch jeans. I will also wish PFK congrats on hooking up with Ms. Vonn and making it official. He looks happy and everyone deserves a little happiness. GO YOU FUCKING HABS GO!

  13. Finally watched the Max video. Friggin' awesome. The best part about it is the butthurt sfu reporters trying to figure out why/how Montreal could possibly be better than tronna.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. the Maritimer1:33 PM

Yeah, the sfu haven't figured out that the tronna rink is like a fucking morgue 75% of the time especially at the start of the 2nd period when all the sushi eating suits are brown nosing with the Bay St. elites who don't really give a fuck about hockey.

    3. I think the SFU realizes that as the Habs get better and their team regresses to their norm of futility, leafools will start to (re)lose their shit. Its gonna be fun tearing those P(iles) of shit a new one, here and on the Twitter machine. Lucky for them on the latter service, they can block my ever-so erudite eviscerations. Fucking snowflakes.

  14. I am just about to watch the penuepuleate epsode season one of Suits, no THe Boys. It was ambitious but failed IMHO. The reason is the suspension of disbelief was way to high. You dont piss on Supermans cape.
However compared to the complete dreg my friend sees every time he opens up Kodi and looks at new epsisodes or new series its fantastic. I say this with the same regret I felt the first time I read that RAP was more popular the Rock and Roll. When fucking robots is more popular than fucking women, dont say I did not tell you so.

  15. So Vodka now has Allan Walsh repping him. Guess he won't end up back with the Habs...

    1. ya think? Mebbe ol Bergy was showing him the hand until he got hisself an agent, so as to avoid the hard feelings of dog-yearning loyalty that happened last time he tried to negotiate a multi-million dollar deal with little financial acumen and a pronounced language barrier...

Mebbe. Walsh is also Druid's agent, and as BWilde at Global noted today, they got the Druid signed within four hours of his trade to the Habs. History may repeat.

But either way, it's good. Vangellis (CHiarot) is here. Family Juuls is back. Meat is one year older and wiser. The Dish might take a step back though, folks. If anyone is hard-pressed to repeat last year's greatness, I'm pegging him (and not cuz I got any knock against him, I don't). Just a hunch that he will be 80-90% of last year in effectiveness and productivity. He had a really good year last year, and his age should be starting to factor in.

  16. So my teenage daughter was watching the VMA Music Awards (from New Jersey) on one of the cable stations last night - I think it happened last weekend - and as I walk into the room, who should walk on stage but Jersey's newest superstar PFK and his FAF fiance Lyndsay Vonn. PFK had a really solid effort - he oozed celebrity pop and was confident and strong. He looked right at home. One day the powers that be in the NHL will realise what a vital commodity he is to their Marketing machine. No other NHL player could have pulled off that stint. His swagger just doesn't exist elsewhere in the NHL and some day I hope he gets the recognition he deserves. I'm loving that we'll get to see him a lot more this season too. He should at least keep the Devils games slightly more interesting...

    1. When I think of Vonn, I am reminded of AC/DC's lyric, 'Knockin' me out with those American thighs'.

    2. I like PFK, I just dont think we need the NHL to be the shitshow NFL, NBA and MBA are. PFK is not the first hotdog, and will not be the last, but a hotdog on every team no no no, I will go to rehab.

  25. Hey the M how did your FF draft go? The player I've been eyeing is Chris Carson, hoping to get him at the 3/4 turn of our snake draft. Only a week out, can't wait for NFL.

To all sports fans looking for options to cable, but will still cost you, I hear pretty good reviews by some buddies about DAZN if you want to see all NFL games your team plays (not an issue for me in the Pats region). It's a streaming service so not sure of your setup. It's $20/month or $150/year I think but can be split with a buddy as 2 logins are allowed.

I also hear that if (and now I'm stretching beyond my technical knowledge) you have a VPN, you can set your pc or router to a European country and get all the NHL games.

Don't even need an internet lawyer for this.

Tyreek Hill KC and Amari Cooper Dal are my WRs, Baltimore is my D, my bench players are some sleepers and longshots. Should be a fun season can't wait!

We did our Keeper hockey draft back in July, I took Podkolzin Van, Byram Col, Poulin Pitt from the June amateur draft and David Rittich the goalie from Calgary. I'm hoping Domi and Drouin have big years to help me win this season. I have McDavid and Kucherov from our original draft, this one guy in the pool keeps hounding me to trade one of them... what a fucking moron!

Max Domi is going nowhere. His recent trashing of the fucking leaf and their fans/media alone makes him invaluable. Besides, he is a more complete player than Laine, a pure shooter at best. If the 'peg will take Drouin straight up sure. Or, just offer sheet him. The Jets are in big cap trouble...
