As I briefly mentioned I was at the Sens-Isles game. I like to focus on a specific player during the game. I chose to observe Karlsson’s play. he beauty of this kid's game is he is allowed to play it. He fumbled and stumbled a few times but his coach gives him all the rope he needs to let loose his skill. He actually makes those on the ice with him, even vets like Alfie and Spezza, better. Michalek seeks out the feeds. He is a joy to watch. I read somewhere he has as many or more points than the CotU's kessposito.
Missed the game yesterday as we had guests over(Mrs. n's B-day today) and Buttman's new PHuckin' stupid NHL schedule, seems planned to reduce viewership, so just how bad was the sucktitude? I see we managed to jump out 2-0 and then fold completely *Sigh* glad I didn't get to watch...Die Laffs Die, looks like a tough 4 games out of the next 6, as well we get to participate in spoiling their hopes.
And might I add that the blue and white decor in this basement apartment is horrid. We should never have agreed to sublet if for the season. But I hear the long term tenants are slowly making their way back and should be arriving in April.
I would say the only thing that is coming to Montreal today is futures.
I hope they keep Moen as well. They need all the grit they can get.
Big trades aren't going to help this team. Hopefully, the ground work has already been laid for the rebuild and the fans have to be patient. Some big names are coming up as UFA's in 2013. My personal fantasy would see Sid pulling on the sainted flannel.
I was listening to Sportsnet on the way in today. "Superplexx being shopped. Moen going to Laffs TiTs they hate Tits everyone hates TiTS, TiTs should never have been born."
I would love to see Sid in a Habs jersey. If only.
It'd be really nice if Gomez and Kaberle were gone today but I doubt that very much. If they do go, then don't ask for anything for Christmas since it means we've already gotten our gifts early.
I frequently walk by the Sidney Crosby wing of the NS Sports Hall of fame a look at the little Habs baby bottle they used to feed him with as an infant and think "if only he were on our long term IR list."
Chicago needs D, send them both Kraperle and his sister Can'tpoli for......NOTHING! Ok, some sticks and tape. Cap space would be welcome. Trade Gomez to the Alaska Aces of the ECHL for some king crab, about 50lbs would be sufficient.
If Toronto actually took Kaberle back it'd be one of the best troll moves a GM has ever done to piss off a team's own fans.
Come on Brian, you can do it!
I'd also settle for Boston bringing him back. I'd love to see them have a brainfart, think he's a good luck charm and pick him up. God that would make my day.
MONTREAL -- The Canadiens have traded forward Andrei Kostitsyn to the Nashville Predators, in return for a second-round Draft pick in 2013 and the cancellation of a conditional fifth-round draft pick in 2013 (as part of the Hal Gill trade – February 17, 2012).
I think a couple of things...firstly I don't think the Goat should be doing any deals if he isn't here long term. Secondly, I don't really think the Habs have anyone that THEY want rid of who is actually worth anything more than picks. Getting rid of Tits for a 2nd round pick seems like a steal in some ways but then again, when the Habs have really needed him, Tits has been AWOL. No real heart day in day out. If the Preds are looking to make a deep playoff run and think that they have just secured the missing piece to their Stanley Cup puzzle...well I'm not so sure. Then again the Habs do have a habit of bringing out the best in former players.
So Tits to Nashville. In other news, water is wet and the leaf won't make the playoffs.
A 20 goal scorer who will be reunited with his brother for two picks. Can we stop calling him "the Goat" and start saying the "ScapeGoat". Because this shit is bananas. B-A-N-A-N-A-S.
Bananas.
TSN is still touching themselves over Nash in Toronto. In other news, there's a peace treaty between Israel and the Arab world and the leaf make the playoffs.
Canadians brain trust in deep think tank mode. " How did the Belurusian Experiment fail?" The result of this study will determine if we take the first Latvian to ever play in the NHL.
The 27-year-old Staubitz has posted a minus-7 with no points in 43 games with the Wild this year.
The Wild had been looking to find Staubitz a new home after the 27-year-old forward cleared waivers on February 11.Staubitz was originally signed as an undrafted free agent by San Jose. He has scored eight goals and 10 assists in 196 career games with the Wild and Sharks.
He is in the final year of a two-year deal he signed with the Wild worth an average annual value of $575,000. The Canadiens will only have to pay half that salary and only half of Staubitz's average annual value will count towards Montreal's salary cap number.
He is set to become an unrestricted free agent at the end of the 2011-12 season.
The deadline for players claimed off waivers to be eligible for post-season play was Monday at Noon et.
Just did the math. Based on a per game ice time of about 12 minutes for Gomer, it works out to $7500 a minute. So if he gets a minor penalty he makes fifteen grand.
heh, chickens hit douchebag dreger subliminally slams a 'loser Eastern GM' without mentioning his name in regards to not bagging Hodgson, because its burke.
Well this is a depressing as shit day. I wasn't really hoping for a miracle but still, I hoped we'd have some more excitement than this. A tough-guy who may not play that much and some draft picks. Wow. How thrilling.
Now we're stuck looking at some of these same chumps for the rest of this miserable season. Is it too late to become a Curling fan instead?

Wasn't expecting much today although I was hoping they could move one of those soft as DQ ice cream defencemen. I figured Tits was a gonner, was hoping for a first or a prospect D at least. I guess the Habs triumverate decided to wait until the off season to conduct their business, well, probably minus one of the menage a trois. Looks like the same lame bunch will play out the string, I might watch the odd game but they aren't a priority anymore.
I can see a big rebuild coming though, Turtleplexxx is not safe and the Habs will get amnesty on Gomereaha. Kraperle will be plying his trade just west of the Cotu and sniffing diesel fumes. I can't see Molson letting his team flounder, Montreal fans will not go to the Bell to see a shitty product like leaf fans. They are going to be bigger and tougher next year.
So did the Ghost give a press conference like Burka?
You cant tell me we could not have had Huberdeau for TiTS and a swap of draft choices. What did we have to lose. A draft pick for this franchise is somebody to alienate until they want to play hockey.
BUF with Hodgson might now have the scoring punch they need to keep, wait for it, burke's leaf out of the playoffs. This makes burke's blowup doll dreger even rubberier. Lube!
heh, dregerdoll says his leaf refused 4 separate first round picks for 4 pieces of shit leafs and burke is still a fucking genius. Keep swallowing you fucking CotU whore.
I am going to undercut you. Results may vary, but then again how could they be worse. Aside from all the stupid decisions and draft pick failures. You have to look at the Red Wings. If you cant take and make a pass under pressure, you dont play. After that just eliminate the players who have a shot like a girl and your a yearly contender. That Mr Molseon was free, to dig down into that you would have to ask someone else.
If you see what Tanguay is making, I'd take Kostitsyn for that. Since he's only a rental to them maybe he will come back... You know, some time away might do him good. Then again, I hear he really likes country music.
