    1. Seeing Weber's "attempt" to clear the crease makes me cry. BRING BACK HAL GILL!

Also in those Preds home jerseys, Hal Gill shall be known as "The Lighthouse".

    5. Nothing to add but to repeat KmaXXX: Class Act.

      Re-signing in July?

Fuck the Goat for leaving him in limbo. Hey, I can't let an opportunity to be negative go wasted.

  2. What'd I miss?
Had my son over for dinner and couldn`t check in, being the doting mom and all and watching the game.
Not so happy with this one.

    1. Same old Habs/Devils game. Might as well have done the ceremony, given them the 3 goals and two points and gone home at 6:30 I guess.

    2. I tuned in late and forgot the day (I'm always a day ahead). But I was saving this for this Sunday Habs/Devils game:

"I'm glad the Walking Dead is back!"

      or

"Oh, RDS is airing the Walking Dead now?"

      or

"Screw this, I'm switching over to Walking Dead. Less Zombies."

      or

"Jeez, the characters on the Walking Dead are move developed than our forwards!"

      or

"More Mexicans score on the Walking Dead than on the Habs."

  4. At least the Bulldogs actually rallied back and won their game! Ended 7-3 against the BabySabres. Schultz with a goal, 2 assists, and SIX shots. Geoffrion with 2 assists. They went 4 for 7 on the powerplay!

  5. I don't even know if I should be upset or happy anymore. Oh well. Bring on 2012-2013 (if it actually happens that is).

Least the Bruins are starting to crack. That makes me happy.

  6. Tim Peel sure loves his whistle.

"Sunday night, the Canadiens managed the feat again, incurring not a single hooking, roughing, interference, or any other penalty call that could have sent them to sin bin. The Devils were sent to the box three times over the course of 60 minutes by Tim Peel and Frederick L’Ecuyer, with the first ref blowing the whistle in over 595 NHL games, and the second only 33".

  8. Great read about old time hockey (like the 40s). Plus even as an ex-leaf he hates them. I would too if I was benched for banging my own wife. Or anyone else's wife for that matter. Includes an old timey contract (-$100 for uniform rental!)

    1. Just want to add, between this story and how he regarded his son (and the community he was a part of) I almost like Brian Burke. I'm sure Harper is a nice guy, too, though.

    4. I heard fans used to put paper bags on their heads to show disproval to the team. Today paper is harder to come by.
If your a broons fan, plastic will do just fine.

Last night was rough. With the possibility of getting close to 4 points of a playoff spot, I must say my hopes were kind of getting back. If the team could not get motivated for such a game, well dear Habs fans, do not expect playoffs this year, it is that simple. There are players that we have to unload by the deadline. I hear Moen, Campoli, Kostitsyn all the time..but I think the players we really need to trade are different ones: Kaberle and Bourque. Those two are making a lot of money and bring not much results. Has anyone seen Bourque do anything substantial since his arrival in Montreal? In 90% of the games I have watched, he sometimes does not even get mentionned by the commentator, because he does not even touch the puck! If someone shows some interest he shoud be traded. I am surprised nobody has mentionned this lack of play by Bourque since his arrival. I would keep Kostitsyn instead of Bourque all the way.

Who would want Campoli and for what ridiculous return?
Kaberle is a liability, every time he's on the ice it seems the opposite team is threateningly buzzing around our goal. is it just me or our D is based on 2 NHL d-men in Subban and Gorges?

Gomez... and Markov not playing...well, fuck it..i better stop

  14. How simultaneously afraid and disgusting is tsn? Cue That's Hockey;

7:00pm intro splash (bonus pictures of burke)
7:01pm 'they only lead the leaf by a few points Sens' afternoon win
7:02pm leaf! its crucial! overproduced! OMG loophole got hit by a puck!
7:06pm 'the Jets, are now in a tie with the leaf'
7:07pm Jets are still chasing, wait for it, the leaf
7:08pm, the leaf needs to go after Rick Nash (nice integrity blob mackenzie)
7:09pm, heh heh, tsn panels laughs off that they laughed at the Sens, heh heh
7:10pm, lets force our way across Canada
    7:11pm, commercial break

FUCK OFF YOU SICK leaf LOVING FUCKS.

@moe, I know Jack Todd is not well liked, but he mentioned in his latest article he prefers the Sportsnet personnel to TSN. I agree, I find them less irritating. My own opinion is when RDS got the rights to carry all Habs game, it may have put the kiss of death on them in English Canada. Since all the English sports channels including CBC are based out of Toronto it's all leaf all the time.
That and the fact that the Habs have been mismanaged to mediocrity or worse for the last twenty years or so.
