I think that the league should eliminate the 8th and final playoff spot, certainly in the east, as it would appear that no one wants it anyway, least of all the Montreal Canadians.
What a huge disappointment to wake up so early this morning and intentionally check the scorelines as the "Score" app on my phone listed them. It went something like this..."Fuck me it's early - never mind let's see what happened whilst I slept...Hmmm - Winnipeg lost - loser point - meh...Buffalo won - nevermind...Columbus beat the Sharks - who cares...leaf lost -0 Yeah! - bugger - loser point - still...Pens Rangers - yada yada...Dallas 3 Habs...FUCK ME - THEY GOT SHUT OUT! BOLLOCKS! (I live in the UK so I actually say BOLLOCKS - a lot!..."
So that was my start of the day - at least I didn't lose any sleep over it. And from what I am now reading - it doesn't look like any of the Habs will either.
Note to @juce - babe it's really getting tough to remain the only cheerleaders but I'm with you - just let me know when to say when!
KmaXXX, Good thing you didn't lose any sleep on this one. Just not in me to say die yet. But watching that game was brutal, it's like they weren't even trying. Randy L said it when it was 1-0. 'If they feel like they want to actually work, they could turn it around.' I heard there are 8 players with the flu, I hope that was the case last night, I can't see any other reason for that lack of effort. Next 3 on the road, I'll put this one behind me. Moving on, I'll hope they try harder. @DarthAlexander, Good idea.
IBrokeMyAnkleJumpingOffTheBandwagonButSaveMeaSeatJustInCase8:54 AM
Like Darche, I would have told the coach mid-game "Yeah, so I've got the flu so I think I'll go home." Then jet down to Club SuperSexe or some other similar fine Montreal establishment and drink my face off to drown my sorrows. Flu-Schmu! Maybe squid was onto something. Losers.
According to Randy Cunneyworth, eight of his players were battling illnesses during the game, including Mathieu Darche who left the game in the third period due to dizziness. Not ready to use that as an excuse, White would prefer his team use the adversity as a rallying point.
“It’s never fun when you’re losing, that’s for sure. But I don’t think we’re coming apart at the seams here, if that’s what you’re asking,” confirmed White, who played a career-high 17:24 in the outing. “The big thing for us is to stick together. There’s a lot of hockey left and there are a lot of points we can make up. It’s just frustrating when we come out for a game like that and we don’t get the effort we need and we don’t get the whole team going the same way. The bottom line is – myself included – we need to be better.”
I'm not watching this crap anymore this year. Unless they call up Nathan or trade for Huberdeau I'm done.....for now. I expect a management house cleaning when the season is finished.
They may have been sick with the flu last night but they must have had it more than once this year. Get a fucking flu shot FFS!!!
The Devils have made Zach Parisie the prize of the UFA, it will be nuts, but of course he will sign for less than Gomez. Somebody call his dad remind him he has Habs blood.
Thats what is wrong in Montreal, they are not building a team. Players wont come, and will leave. It makes no sense, if I was a player I would want to play on the big stage, and it seems in Montreal the stage manager has scared away all the talent.
As I pine for the good old days ... I am thinking that Bettmann and his bunch of stooge owners who know less about hockey then Bettmann are to blame. For decades the NHL did well with a playoff system that let in 4/6 of the teams into the second season. Now it is half. Why? And why do they play into mid April in the regular season? Here is my fantasy. Cut the regular season to 72 games. And then let in the top 2/3 of the teams into the playoffs which should start about late March. US TV wants playoffs. Fans want playoffs. I want the Habs in the playoffs. Lets tip the table a bit. oh and BR says that Gramma Geoffrion (née Morenz) is going to make Blake learn French this summmer.
Oh, so never mind how good a player is...BR's back on that again? Actually, don't think he ever got off that train. If that's all he can harp on, then I don't consider him a hockey fan, just someone who found his way onto a media outlet where he can spew his opinions.
As for playoffs, as long as HABS are in, I'm good.
The news reported yesterday that the internet spy bill Toews wants to pass will have a startup cost of 80 million, about 7 million yearly to maintain (staff to spy on us, etc..) and service providers having to store our data, upgrade their equipment and hiring of additional staff, who will pass the cost down, since this was not a market decision. We will foot the bill both as a taxpayer and as a consumer.
Also, too, FWIW, some CotU twat suggested/pre-dick-ted that he saw a leaf vs. Shark finals ... and I thought I had a drinking problem. (I don't, thx 4 caring)
The Hammer was benched for the last Cap's game. WTF? Quite the mess there, a good start wouuld be to take the "C" off Ovie. I never thought he was captain material.
Maybe I'm getting paranoid but TSN might be putting on those Cammy ads on purpose to let Hab's fans think they given up this perfect specimen. Yeah, right assholes.
What frightens me is Gainey offered him a contract but he turned it down. Dodged that bullet big time. Wasn't Gainey watching him in his final season with us? He was brutal.
True but methinks Bob saw some kind of character/loyalty. Dou$he decided to bolt for the extra $250k per. Also, too, Vodkov made him look better than he was and the leaf has no Vodkov. Still find it hilarious that the CotU mediots aren't all over the waste of to 'A's in the press box. Ssssshhhh ...
Reminds me of McGuire when that signing happened. He said that Markov had been holding back Douche. That's when McSplooge lost me for good. Who's the other "A" moe?

We're 27th! At least for now. Aren't we just great?Someone should give that bag of elephant shit to PG as a thank you present.

ReplyDeleteA lot of them have the flu and have today off. Okay, we'll be expecting them to come out killing dead things on Friday, right?

ReplyDeleteI'm going to see the Bulldogs...
Ouch.
ReplyDeleteFirst there was the goalie who stopped a shot with his face, now there was a goal deflected off of Cap's Perreault's face.
