this kind of thing happens every day. Ottawa is turning into Washington, paid lobbyists are a dime a dozen now but do not have the media profile that they "enjoy"in the US.
mr.gillis, The hurt is always there, but may lessen over time. Sadder, is hockey stats /history will always be there to haunt us, like a heart broken by a love betrayed. But, what the H E double hockey sticks, we`ll get the next one, and to that love I say:
GO HABS GO, GO HABS GO, GO HABS GO, You may have broken my heart this season, but I know you`ll be mine again.
Steve, I am sorry to hear about Lego and his teeth. A puck to the face is never nice and I wouldn't wish it on anyone. Let me explain my feelings on Lego for you. It is not anything to do with is abilities. He is an awesome stick handler and has a great shot. My issue with Lego is his approach. To me, I see him skating around, not really digging too easily, giving up the puck and not looking too concerned about it. I said it the other night during one of the games - he reminds me of that guy we all knew and played with growing up - the super talented kid who hated being poke checked or shown up by anyone else on the rink. If you did it, he'd take a sneaky slash at you or trip you up when he thought no one was looking - spoiled pain in the ass type behavior - and that is what I see when nI see Lego recently. He scored 4 goals in one game and has done basically nothing since. His body language is all wrong, his effort lacking. His goal the other night was awesome - but those moments have been few and very far between. Maybe it's because he knows he's skating with RBQ or maybe it's because he wants to play with Cole - whatever the reason, that has been why I feel the way I do of late. Hope that helps and rest assured I will change my opinion of him when I see a difference. I will also keep my opinions to myself from here until the end of the year. Hope that helps.
Although I would love to see Johnny H. in a Canadiens uni, Dale Tallon won't part with him. Last Friday night Sam Constantino on SportsNet, who were broadcasting the game, said Huberdeau is the best player in the entire CHL. he should know as he follows Major Junior very closely. I wouldn't trade JH for both Russians. Habs missed the boat, the suckage should have happened last year or next when Nathan McKinnon will be available.
They'll have to take what they get and live with it.
Lots of chatter about Plekanec today. If they keep him I don't care, if they trade him I won't miss him.
Pleks is not or never will be a #1 center. If he were playing golf with me I would make him hit from the ladies' tee. KmaXXX doesn't like Eller but I would place him ahead of Pleks because he can go into the corner and get the puck occasionally. Pleks either won't go there or turns it over. I wouldn't miss him in the least.
@M - Plexxe would hit off the ladies tee but Lego would keep wanting to take mulligans if he chunked a tee shot - and that would eventually really get on your nerves...just saying...
@K - So what you are saying is David Desharnais is better than both of our stud centerman. I guess Montreal is in worse shape than I thought. Come to think of it, I'd rather have Koivu back at center. He would be better than all 4 of the present day ones.
Have a nice sleep. Since winning tonite would give Minni the second overall pick, and they are not shy about tanking, we are sure to win, and somewhere Eric Chounaird is smiling.
I was kinda hard on the Habs centermen earlier remenicing about the Habs glory days. DD is to be commended for his efforts and can play in this league. If he is the #1 I don't know if the Habs can be contenders. I believe Lego can be the guy given time to mature. He's got the size and the wheels, it remains to be seen if he has the heart and hands to be the MAN. He had to endure a year and a half of Chocula and his limited personnel skills. Pleks could be a good 3rd line guy, PK specialist and checker. I won't even mention a certain Mexican of some notariety, he is dead to me.
Who knows what the future holds, but oh for the days of Beliveau, Lemaire, Mahovlich, Walter, Bobby Smith, Muller, Damphousse and even Saku. If Koivu had been given Cole and Patches he might have accomplished more in his career and retired a Hab.
Let me just say this about that for a sec here...I guess the thing with the Habs that has been frustrating the most (for me at least) is that all the promises that Gainey gave out a long time ago have not amounted to much of anything. The Habs have discovered some talent for sure but it hasn't gelled into a team like we all thought it might. Now I don't remember much about the early years of Guy Lafleur or Jacques Lemaire of Steve Shutt. I'm pretty certain they each didn't do much as rookies, but suddenly they gelled and became stuf of legends. What was Pete Mahovolich like as a rookie? I don't remember - but I remember the heart and soul he brought to the game when they won the Stanley Cup, and the part he played as part of Team Canada in '72...I could go on and on...but then I think about the abuse I've been heaping on Eller and Darche and others like them, and I think - actually, maybe there is something great to come - so maybe I should lay off them for a bit longer - maybe I'll give them until sometime around Christmas next year and revisit some of the ill feelings I have. I goota believe that somewhere in this great organisation, someone knows what's up!...
It is astounding how many leads this team has blown in the 3rd period. Simply amazing. It must be a some sort of record. At least a team record. It's gotten to the point that when I see them leading by only 1 heading into the 3rd I get sad over the coming loss.
Seriously, today my co-worker asked me how my team was doing and I said, "I'll check". It was the 2nd intermission with it 2-1 Habs. I responded "They will lose". I mean, the season is dead anyway. But with so many young guys on the team I would like to see them build some character for the future.
So what'd I miss?...Watched the "highlights" - that tying goal was definitely offside - but of more concern - 4 fucking shots in the 2nd period! Come on! Nothing happens when you only take 4 shots.
On the plus, the leaf are out - leaving that last game against the Habs meaningles...except it's the leaf and the Habs must win it.
Go Habs Go!! Go Habs Go!!! Go Habs Go!!!! Go Habs Go!! Go Habs Go!!! Go Habs Go!!!!
I'd like to thank you for the efforts you have put in penning this site. I really hope to check out the same high-grade blog posts from you later on as well. In fact, your creative writing abilities has motivated me to get my own website now ;)
My developer is trying to convince me to move to .net from PHP. I have always disliked the idea because of the costs. But he's tryiong none the less. I've been using WordPress on several websites for about a year and am nervous about switching to another platform. I have heard good things about blogengine. net. Is there a way I can transfer all my wordpress content into it? Any help would be greatly appreciated!
I was curious if you ever considered changing the structure of your site? Its very well written; I love what youve got to say.
But maybe you could a little more in the way of content so people could connect with it better. Youve got an awful lot of text for only having 1 or 2 images. Maybe you could space it out better?
Conspiracy?

Proves that we are not just crying foul when we say the officiating is crap and refs are biased.

If they let superplexs go, they are going after Mckinnon, a TiTs Squid, Pleks line would be a first line on many NHL teams.

There is definite return to classic man to man coverage in the defensive zone. The chocula feng shui thing is over.
ReplyDeleteWhy didn't the fuckety fucks in Toronto call on the phone on that goal. Clearly Embarassing for them good thing a playoff spot isn't riding on it.
ReplyDeleteThat was off-side and the replay clearly showed it and that should have been called by the ref - goal should not have been allowed.
ReplyDeleteBergenheim was 2 feet over the line. It's why the Habs bench was up screaming. Stupid fucking refs.
