Wrap it up for the weekend 4HFers!
Happy SF everyone, for the record I am a Veronica, and a Betty, but definitively a Ginger.
ReplyDeleteLovin' me some Carey!
ReplyDeletePic of the heart on the beach is stupendous!
ReplyDeleteR.I.P. David Rakoff.
ReplyDeleteRIP David, condolences to family and friends.
DeleteLoved his sense of humour.
So will Under Armour give us Carey Price TV ads? I'm bored with Rick Nash.
ReplyDeleteExtra TFS™ pic just posted.
DeleteNice and rugged! grrrrr!
DeleteHe's way more camera friendly than chubby chipmunk face Nash. Cowboy up!
DeleteTonight I'll be dreaming of cowboys, horses and lassos and I don't mean Roy Rogers or Trigger.
DeleteWonder if TFS can sing too...
Bob Dylan and The Grateful Dead Rehearse Together in Summer 1987.

ReplyDeleteTodays top shelf prospects features the Habs
ReplyDeletehttp://lastwordonsports.com/2012/08/10/top-shelf-prospects-montreal-canadiens/
Good read.
DeleteThanks
DeletePlease don't take this the wrong way, but whenever I see 'Beaker' I think of the poor lab assistant on the Muppet show. :)
Deletehttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hA4TiL9L0hc&feature=related
It's the wine.
DeleteNot a problem, the muppet character was what I was going for... along with the pun on Ben (B.) Kerr.
Deletelove your stuff
DeleteHey Ben I cant comment on your site cause its to much work.
DeleteBut what I do not understand and I saw it from a grainy internet feed is Louis Leblanc skates like shit. Now he makes the most of this, but why have the Canadiens not locked down a very hot figure skater to change his terrible style, effort wasting floundering about into something better?
This really gives me nausea!
ReplyDeletehttp://bleacherreport.com/articles/1290533-toronto-maple-leafs-why-they-should-consider-adding-pk-subban
Everyone is freaked out about Subban, they shouldn't be..
DeleteDrew Doughty signed in October last year.
Carey Price signed in September 2010, on the eve of training camp.
PK's deal will get done, its just a matter of when.
I think it's just the waiting that gets us(me) on edge, especially with this lockout looming and there really is noting else going on in hockey this time of year. Deep down I know it'll get done but I'll feel better when it comes to fruition.
DeleteThe Leaf will probably draft his other brother, making his mom happy.
DeleteI'm a sucker for punishment so had to read that. Ooookaaay then...
DeleteAnyway, even better are often the comments on those articles. Here's the best: try to read without l-ing ol:
Subban is the exact thing we need, a big hitting two-way D-man who can find the back of the net. Oh wait now that I think about it we have someone like that only 10000 times better in phaneuf.
That's right "10,000 times better" - Celine is 10,000 times better than PFK. Good to know. Made my day.
That's a good one!
DeleteInteresting.
ReplyDeletehttps://www.copadivino.com/
Does anyone think the CBA affair affects contract for PFK?
ReplyDelete100% yes, it effects PK as he doesn't know if what he signs will be subject to a roll back.
DeleteAnd it effects the Habs as they will want to know the RFA/UFA terms of the new CBA.
Not saying it makes the deal impossible (it doesnt), but its certainly a complicating factor for sure.
Beaker, thank you for your insight. I'm sure that's the reason for the waiting game, both sides need to weigh what the outcome may bring.
DeleteBetween you and the Maritimer, I learn.
DeleteThank you Sensais.
I must also include KmaXXX!
DeleteDarn, every 4HFer shows patience with my limited hockey knowledge, but my love for the Habs helps keep me afloat.
DeleteMerci tout le monde!
Sorry, s/r Sensei
DeleteKmaXXX, I just heard that in Weinberger's last half dozen races, he's never missed the podium! This lad swam in frigid open water (21-Celsius) for this latest medal and he's only 22yrs old.
ReplyDeleteMy hat's off to Richard.
My Olympic jaunts boil down to running to catch the Metro.
DeleteWoohoo!
ReplyDeleteCanada's Mark de Jonge won Olympic bronze in the men's K-1 200m
i would say something about TiTa.
ReplyDeleteOH LOOK CANADA GETS FUCKED AGAIN. What a retarded thing. They're disqualified for stepping on the line in the relay after thinking they won bronze, only to have it taken away from them while they were celebrating.
ReplyDeleteFuck you, Olympics.
http://www.torontosun.com/2012/08/11/connaughton-says-rule-is-stupid
Delete"It's unforgiving, this rule," he said. "It's not three steps anymore. It used to be three steps. Now it's one step. I'm not pointing fingers at anybody but there are a lot of stupid rules in this sport. There are a lot of rules set up to make you fail. The one false start rule is stupid. The one foot on the line rule is stupid. The sport sets us up to fail."
http://www.stltoday.com/sports/olympics/jared-connaughton-s-one-misplaced-step-brought-broken-hearts-instead/article_9fbbb509-8f48-5e57-b827-81cc3347dd76.html
Delete"You guys saw what happened," Connaughton said. "Trinidad's doing a victory lap, and they know they didn't earn it. … Everybody ran a hell of a leg. We won a bronze medal, and nobody can take that away from us. Maybe we don't have it around our necks, but it's my fault."
It's a real stupid rule. So is automatic disqualification from swimming on false starts. OH RIGHT.
DeleteOr when cris fucking lee doesn't call crashing into TFS™. Some things will never be explained.
DeleteColby's first day as a Hab.

Soccer captain Christine Sinclair will carry the flag.
ReplyDelete(least they could do)
Captain Canada!
DeleteIr's not so sexy Sunday cos it's back to work tomorrow. But it's sunny! Any jockey news? Okay, carry on then.
ReplyDeleteDamn autocorrect. Hockey news.
ReplyDeleteWe know it's those TFS pics.
DeleteOh and killer shoes Moe!
ReplyDeleteokay bitches its almost over. Two weeks of the man fucking with your lizard brain for his own advancement, and what makes it doubly sweet is he takes in a huge haul and leaves the host nation with the tab. If you got it flaunt it.
ReplyDeleteMore than an hour in and these closing ceremonies pretty boring, so far.

ReplyDeleteCongrats to all of Canada's Olympians.
ReplyDeleteCongrats to the Brits for putting on a good show.
Pink-dressed Spice was nice.
No Clash? No Stones? No Led Zep? Um, London, Calling, Can't get no flash?
brian williams commenting on 'personal agendas'. Sure, STFU already you fucking windbag.
I want me one of them Canadian jean jackets. On sale, 50%! off!
Oh Rio!
That was all just terrible. I was waiting for a giant Monty Python foot to stamp out the flame with a fart noise.
DeleteI loved that the Canadians all dresed in jean jackets! I watched the closing ceremonies and have a question for anyone watching it in Canada...did Eric Idle saying "shit" during "Bright Side of Life" get past the censors?
DeleteBest tweet I have read about the ceremonies: It's a pity George Michael isn't the one driving Jessie J to the stage
@juce - 21C for an open water swim isn't "Frigid" - my pool is about the same temp.
Our jean jacketed Canucks tried to do a human pyramid and were quickly stopped by wet blanket security.
DeleteWay to go Rory McIlroy, outstanding play to destroy the field by eight strokes and remain humble. Fuck you Tiger, I hope you never win again. So there.
ReplyDeleteCharlie Sheen's new show "Anger Management" is pretty funny. Winning.....
