Put a sexy spring in your steps FHFers.
Nice recap at N31's
ReplyDeleteThe Dr Who riff is brilliant.
DeleteToo bad for The Captain. He's a good guy. But he was in the way last nite. Could be just me but how do you cause a penalty shot without touching the guy? I thought the guy had to have a step and you had to fuck him up. Oh well, suivant!
ReplyDeleteGo Habs!
It the new dirty look penalty. No stinkeye allowed in Buttmans NASCAR on ice.
DeleteChester, I agree. When I saw the replay, Gionta actually tapped the guys stick, which is totally legal. WTF was that penalty shot!!! Damn...
ReplyDeleteOh well, take the 2 points!

Deletesteve OMFG you have another blog? Did I know about that one? Your speed intake must be phenomenal
DeleteAnd True Romance is one of the greatest. movies. EVER. holy fuck that cast never ceases to amaze me.
My movie review blogs principle purpose is to inform me when I want to watch a movie, that A I have not watched it before, and B it is the correct movie to fit my mood.
Delete@29 I dont know if you knew its on my suggest links along with the UFO conspiricay sites. For those who like action, sci fi and war movies you may find some overlooked gems that you missed on the first go round. What I have found is that I rate movies far more favourable than Rotten Tomatoes.
DeleteHey Moeman - Great SF - Merci! I am excited about this weekend for a couple of reasons...The Habs do Spring Training with the rest of Canada - so I'm looking for min. 3 points out of 4. Secondly, You lot get onto Daylight savings time on Saturday night, so the games for the rest of March are an hour earlier (for me at least!). As long as it stops Steve from calling me bad names, it makes me happy! We don't need any negative vibes happening round here and evidently my sloping off before games that started at midnight/1.00 am was pissing him off. I shall be around for both games this weekend you can be sure.
ReplyDeleteAnd lastly, let's hear it for my very favourite Hab of all time ever in the history of the club (at this moment in time at least) - Lars Eller! I always said that Lego would come good as long as he put some effort into his game and took some pride in wearing the Bleu Blanc Rouge. And it's not just Lego - I really do sens that RDSMT2 and DGMB and the rest of the coaching staff (do we have nicknames for them? - GGII? JJD? TOFG (theotherfrenchguy)?) anyway - they really seem to have driven home a message that was missing last season. The game is 60 minutes long and if you skate and shoot the puck at the net, you have a chance to score. And the pride that should come in wearing the Habs Crest on your chest is not lost in the youngsters, which can be infectious (as any of us who have had infectious youngsters can attest to!).
So Go Habs Go!!
Hi Kmaxx I hope you know I am only joking. You do a magnificant job of supporting the team.
DeleteSteve - All Good Mate! We are all friends here and we each wear the CH on our sleeves and in our hearts. I forgive your over-indulgence in mind altering drugs when you comment just as you forgive me the urge I have to sleep a min of 4 hours on a work week night. It's all good!

DeleteI re read the comments from last night, and felt the embryo of an anti snark movement starting. First of all I have loved the Habs since I knew what hockey was. Would I make snide comments about the 71 habs, probably not, but given the current state of hockey we are never going to see the 71 Habs again. I can still love the team like the 71 Habs, okay that not true, I can never love any team like the 71 Habs. So maybe thats my problem I am locked in a passive agressive relationship with the Canadians. And they have given me decades of reasons to justify such feelings. But mostly its just fun to be goofin on the games, and even better when we are not only winning, its not a fluke, a hot goalie or a solar flare thats responsible. I love and admire anyone who is lucky enough and good enough to wear the colors, but whats more fun than busting the balls of the ones you love in a manly bromance way.
ReplyDeleteSteve, excellent analogy, I even relate to the 1968 and 1969 Habs but that '71 team with Dryden was special, you had to be there to appreciate the upset of the Espo/Orr Bruins. I rag on them when I see what I perceive a lack of effort or losing focus which is what I think happens to Carey. If he's not getting many shots he loses focus and boom, one slips by him and another and so on. I think the boys last night said fuck this lets let Kirk's team feed him a rubber diet and see if he stays awake. Mission accomplished.
DeleteI predict a loss in Tampa and a Budaj call in Sunrise for a close win with Huberdeau getting a hat trick. There, let's see how that works.
The 71 team was my firstmemory of the Habs. That was the stuff of dreams and we won't see that kind of thing in our lifetime. The game we learned to play then has changed forever.playing for the Montreal Canadians back then was an honour you would never take for granted. Imagine someone other than maybe jimmy Roberts going the whole season and only scoring 2 goals! It wouldn't have been accepted by the fans or the management. Today's game is fun to watch but it is not the hockey Ilearned to play as a boy.

DeleteRumours are we are chasing Swiss Miss
ReplyDeleteThat'll make 3 of them. Swiss national team defence, oh fuck!
DeleteHappy Sexy Friday everyone. quality work moe!
ReplyDeleteGreat stuff moe, as always.
ReplyDeleteWe stiill need a decent D man to add to the fold if this team is going anywhere in the playoffs. That was some bad 20 minutes of hockey last night. *shudder*. Okay so who would be available before the trade deadline? I'm counting on you good folks cos I don't know my ass from my elbow.
Greg Pateryn gets the call up. 6'3 214.
ReplyDeletethe skinny -
Pateryn is a solid all-round defenseman who has a solid work ethic, grit, character and leadership skills along with strong defensive zone positioning and plays a tough physical game around his net. Fantastic taste in prostitutes. The big defenseman is a steady, calming presence on the backend and can play the shutdown role and on both specialty team units.
I may or may not have added something in there.
FLORIDA !!! SPRING BREAK WOOOO!!!!
sounds good to me. Aside from PFK none of our defence has been consistantly outstanding lately. I would like to see Vodkov time reduced and maybe give him a night off. Not a punishment, just recognition.
DeleteBeen reading up on him and his hoe skills may have been what gave him the edge over St Denny. Obviously MT2.0 is looking for someone to dose the goons. Speculation is he is just filling Webers place in the pressbox, but I expect you will see him in the Panthers game with Cube.
DeleteInteresting footnote, he was the bag of pucks thrown into the gravol trade.
DeleteI don't know if Prust has any brothers, but I say let's sign them.
ReplyDeleteI think we should get Drew Doughty.
ReplyDeleteWe could use a guy like him.
In Praise of Carey. He sucks less than almost every other goalie has this year.
ReplyDeleteHeard on the radio that the elite goaltenders are having a hard time to find their groove (can I say that?) in the strike shortened season. They said the same thing happened the last time the season was cut short. Either traing camp was not long enough or it's a mojo head thing. I don't know, it's been quite some time since I was an elite goaltender ...
ReplyDeleteGo Habs!
I think its a goalie union conspiracy. Their goals are not clear, but as soon as I find out, you will know.
DeletePrice is doing better than most I have seen, though. Example: Miller just looks like he doesn't want to play anymore. Lundqvist is deeper in his net than usual. Pekka Rinne has the tendency to just not know what planet he's on. The rest are getting injured...
DeleteI really dont care about first place. So I would ride TFS hard until we have a playoff locked up then rest him, by using Budda a lot. This really needed to be said because no one else is saying it.
ReplyDeleteRemember to Spring forward bitCHes;

Tips for Steve;
Install one smoke alarm per floor and outside sleeping areas.
Never remove a smoke alarm from the ceiling due to a nuisance alarm.
Install fresh batteries in all smoke and CO alarms at least annually.
Replace smoke alarms older than 10 years old.
Practice a home fire escape plan together with the family.

DeleteI do now.
DeleteI think it's good to use Budda. It keeps him sharp and involved. As opposed to a fifth wheel situation. Doesn't look good for Tampon and Scarface. I think Vinny is old and St Louis is losing his edge. A small guy has to have an edge.
ReplyDeleteGive Booty FLA.
DeleteJust think, all those Getzlaf will be a laff rumours and articles and lies and innuendo and tweets and shit are all now shit. Too funny.
ReplyDeleteBut the Cory Perry will be double. I dont want him, to expensive in both players, picks and he is looking at $9 to $10 a year.
DeleteWell now moe, of course Corey Perry is the next leaf. And he never cheered for the Habs growing up in Ontario that couldn't happen.
DeleteI probably won't be able to watch Montreal vs. Tanker Bay, guess I'll have to amuse myself watching Sid and Geno dismantle the leaf tomorrow night. And listen to mclame et al make up their Corey Perry stories.
Mediots have been drooling for years over a Getzlaf+Perry combo in leaf shit colours (add to that that brian barke works for both teams, both (yeah nothing weird there eh fuckface bettman?). Ducks can afford both. I say he stays in the land of beaches and beach babes. NTTIAWWT.
DeleteI can't believe that any decent player with any sort of options and half a brain would actually want to be a leaf
ReplyDeleteThink of what that says for leaf fans, at least the players are getting money.
Deletemoe just been listening to the tune o the day finally. OUTSTANDING
ReplyDeleteyou should be twenty one to listen
DeleteGlad you grooved to it 29. The footage suggests The Doors sure did on that live version. The cool thing about music that moves us is that we can trip out when it just takes us, somewhere.
DeleteLike Fidel Castro and Jimmy Carter at Pierre Elliott Trudeau's, Jean Chrétien pays respect to Hugo Chavez farewell. No fear.

DeleteSeeing as dredger is such a fucking rumour mongering cock sucking liar I am renaming him eKJr. What a fucking piece of garbage.
ReplyDeleteFucking Tanguay keep your fucking skates on the ice. Just clipped Staubitz IN THE FAAAAAAACE.
ReplyDeleteSome more delusion from the CoTU mediots:
ReplyDeletehttp://www.tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=417673
I'll save you the read;
1) the leaf is the best team in the East
2) Who is to thank for the incredible success (15-10, 5th in Conference, 4th in division, 5 pts out of 9th, is 'success' in TO).
3) Ottawa dealing with devastating injuries sitting in front of the leaf and the Habs being much more surprising in their much greater success do not exist.
4) Burke is responsible, 'natch.
5) Exact same article was released at All Star break last season.
6) leaf also had 30 points after 25 games last year, finished 2 pts out of last. 7-19-3 in their last 29 games, fyi.
7) The 6th Cup Parade of the year will be held on Yonge stree this Sunday at 3pm. Bring the kids, because they're the only one's who have any right to have this much imagination and delusional hope.
