Montreal had killed off 28 straight penalties prior to Higgins' power-play goal.
Pacioretty was then awarded two penalty shots in a two-minute span in the second period, but failed to convert either of them, losing control of the puck on both occasions.
Despite missing both, Montreal's leading scorer became the first Canadien in team history to take two penalty shots in the same game -- let alone the same period.
Habs and leaf games ended at essentially the same time, either way it's been over for about 30 minutes now. Yet TSN has only updated the leaf's record and moved them into 3rd. It's one thing to be biased, but it's quite amazing how childish and petty they can be.
I guess tsn has to concede the main story is the Habs/Canucks after all, leaf have no one representing our country - they have no choice but to 'eat crow' on the matter, just bad PR not to put your country first.
So last night I went to the ipad to watch the game on the NHL network app that I paid 35 quid for only to be told the game was blacked out in my area! I live just outside London england FFS! How do they determine that I am in a blackout zone? Anyone know a good lawyer? I want my money back!!
Good win for les boys. Did patches seriously miss two penalty shots in the same period?

ReplyDeleteThat was total SoCHiness!
ReplyDeleteShocking, Habs were main story on tsh - they should be taking that down real soon.
ReplyDeleteSeems like they made the Habs/Nucks the main story all evening, probably anticipating to follow-up some 'witty' headline for a habs' loss.

ReplyDeleteMarkov has a new agent, Sergei Berezin, a former Hab.
ReplyDeleteInteresting note: Patches also had a penalty shot against Lu in their last game in October. He is 0/3 on the season.
