Ya Baybee, go short! I was reading one of the plethora of leaf articles on the Toronto sports network and apparently lots of leaf players are happy. They love the team the city and everything .... Go figure. Go Habs
This is what I 'posted' but it'll problem never get through. Ya know, if a certain toronto based media didn't have 20 stories and videos on a certain toronto based team, they would be able to give due respect to actual playoff teams with a separate thread of own for their respective fans without bundling them together.
everytime we go into the playoffs a key injury. I swear if Patches had not been mugged we would have won the cup. Now gChuk was just hitting stride and wham.Dr recchi says do not take chances better amputate.
One of the many blessings that comes from the spanking the bigots got on Monday is Louise Beaudoin has thrown in the towel and passed the torch. Praise Allah. Go Habs
Wow, you weren't kidding. R.I.P. Mr. Flaherty, 64 is too young to pass away nowadays. He did one of the toughest jobs in the country and did it well. Thoughts and prayers to his family.
Huh, I didn't know he was born in Lachine (right next store) and he played hockey.
He attended Princeton University on a hockey scholarship after being noticed by a scout at an invitational tournament at McGill University. It was at Princeton he heard Robert Kennedy speak about the call of public service.
Big retailers win battle with Quebec language police, they don't have to translate their names to a French version. Wonder if last Monday night had anything to do with it?
I am with the French on the sign thing. If you are to stupid to figure it out, we do not want you. The French culture is important. I do not share it. But I wish I could live my life in an non anglo world.
Avalanche reporter on Twitter last night: "That's why Montreal has zero shot in the playoffs. Can't close games. OT in playoffs will take away their loser points"
Erm, WTF?! Did he even bother to watch the whole game? I thought the Habs matched Chicago great considering no Markov/Price. I'm aware they're not a powerhouse but let's not forget they're sitting at 2nd in the East and 12-2-1 in their last 15. That shit really irked me and I thought "hey, I know just the place to rant!".
you know what's good to have in OT in the playoffs? a clutch goalie. I dunno, like, one who won an Olympic gold medal without allowing a goal in the last 2 games.
I am going fuking insane. Can not listen to my Itunes without limitations. WTF WTF WTF. I also notice I can not post on WP sites anymore. FUCK YOU HARPO. Take away my music and take away my ability to comment, and I will show up on the street to disparage your entitlement.
Nope. He was a conservative who did his job conservatively. Wall Street fucked the rest of us and J.F. kept us in the game. Was he perfect? No, but who would have been better? That being said, I agree it's time for the Harper government to move on. We'll have to agree to disagree Steve. Condolences to his family.
Home from the dentist and my mouth is frozen. it better wear off before game time because I need to drink without drooling and wasting good alcohol
I love all raccoons, even thought hey are vicious, vicious creatures that will rip out your jugular with one swipe. but so cute! and baby ones are just the best!
Not that I have any love for Rogers (I don't) it was time for the CBC to get out of the sports game. The TV is crap, but I love the radio programming. I don't listen to commercial radio anymore. The new music pretty much sucks 95% of the time.
So I hear that Cube, TinTin and Beaulieu are scratches tonight...let's see...just finished watching the hawks game - good effort and a good game all round.
My lips are no longer frozen but my tongue still is. I am successfully drinking beer (Moosehead) out of a bottle without drooling but it feels all weird in my mouth.
Has anyone heard any gCHuk news? I don't like this silence
TSN Hockey Insider Bob McKenzie reports that while a contract has not been finalized and signed, the Leafs and Shanahan are expected to reach a deal making him the President of the hockey club.
My mouth and tongue are fully unfrozen just in time! Of course, now I am in horrible pain from the drilling that was administered, but at least I can drink alcohol safely to dull the pain
Twitter machine spit this funny out: "A former 30-goal scorer for the New Jersey Devils has decided to join the Toronto Maple Leafs ... I'm sure this will turn out just fine!"
On the plus side, my not-numb tongue has allowed me to consume vast quantities of alcohol to dull the pain of both the drilling and the 1st period. The SAQ just got this 3 year old Havana Club rum that is delicious with just some lime and a splash of soda. It's gonna make some killer mojitos this summer. A steal at $24 / bottle
per tsn on gCHyuk: "The 20-year-old forward is expected to meet with team doctors this evening and an update on his condition could come after Thursday's game against the New York Islanders."
Go Habs Go! Go Habs Go! Go Habs Go! Go Habs Go! Go Habs Go! Go Habs Go! Go Habs Go!!!!!!! Go Habs Go! Go Habs Go! Go Habs Go! Go Habs Go! Go Habs Go! Go Habs Go! Go Habs Go!!!!!!!
I only caught parts here and there, but from what I saw, that was one of the worst performances I've witnessed from a professional hockey team in a very long time. My jaw was dropped that whole 10 minutes (was it 10 mins? It sure felt like it) that the Isles played keep away in the Habs zone before their PP at the end of the 2nd. At one point in the 3rd I saw Plecks and two other guys just standing at the bench like it was a TO while play was going on. It was sad.
This is what freaks me out about this team. They are totally Jeckyl/Hyde. For the last couple of weeks I thought, "Ok, looks like they're in good position to get home ice and they'll be tough in the 1st round at least!" then I'm reminded tonight that sometimes, they just don't show up. And not just a game here and there, but weeks at a time. I'm now scared that they'll be embarrassed (again) in the 1st round, and they'll start it all in Florida.
Now they have to depend on Tampa to lose a game in order to get home ice. But that's the least of our worries after what I saw tonight. It was just....sad. I feel like a leaf fan.
Good news: Philthy lost so they're still tied with CLB and DET. Which means there's a good chance of them meeting either the Pens or broons in the first round which would be excellent. GO BJs GO tomorrow!
A couple of things here...firstly - WTF! Way to back into the playoffs - AGAIN! From what I saw the Habs were nowhere near ready to play. Team motto has been "No Excuses" - well there was no excuse for that load of shit! Not a way to say thanks to the fans either! They do have a chance to make amends with a win against the Rangers on Saturday night but I am not overly optimistic at this point...I echo Saint Paddy from 10:41 pm
And now I am reading about Shannahan joining the leaf on the NHL website, which actually makes it a bit more beliveable given that he works for the NHL. The story is still coming from a leaf reporter but I am beginning to wonder if it could happen. They must be throwing a shitload of money at him...
OK, here's what my old eyes saw last night. A Habs team that played a very fast paced game the night before, got in late (or early) the previous morning and had no legs last night. They faced a bunch of rested, very young players with nothing to lose wanting to impress their coach. A bad recipe indeed. I expect better against the Rangers. If they don't show up tomorrow night I will hit the panic button and write them off as first round losers. Which I kind of expect anyway.
WTF is going on with NB and PFK. are eMTy and DGMB offended by offensive defencemen?
Sigmund Freud would have had a field day with the Michel Therrien-P.K Subban relationship.
Maybe the fact that the coach is harder on his star defenseman than he is on other players is based on the similarities between the two, and motivated by Therrien’s unconscious identification with his star player. If so, then his punishing of Subban is really about his own dynamics.
That is, perhaps what Therrien doesn’t like about P.K. is the fact that he is an entertainer, that he pleases the fans, and isn’t just a normal hockey player.
Because Therrien doesn’t like the fact that that he was hired not primarily for his hockey-related knowledge, but because of his language abilities, to please the fans.
So, similar to the bully, he “projects” his issue on P.K., punishing Subban for what he perceives to be his own shortcoming.
The effect of the punishment (restricting P.K.’s entertaining style, as well as limiting his ice time) then shows the fans that he doesn’t care about pleasing them, to counter that this was the reason he was really hired in the first place.
Therrien should see a psychoanalyst — so he can better understand his own dynamics, and so that he does not have to punish others for issues he needs to work through himself.
Ya Baybee, go short!
