Congrats to all of this year’s HHoF inductees. I’m not so sure referees should be there but I digress as some did the right thing on the ice, sometimes when too many men were there. Otherwise, meh for the striped jersey wearers.
Now to the real workers, all worthy for their career accomplishments. A relatively good class of 2014, PPGs, years played, country they were born in. All good. Player-wise, kudos to Hasek, a late bloomer, no innovator but a true classic of style and substance.
Style and substance behind the bench, now that was Pat Burns. I’m a Gatineau guy (for having lived and living there). He’s a legend here and he deserves it. I met him thrice. Twice as a hockey fan, once on a motorbike ride. He liked my all black fucking loud Yamaha. The man had some kind of fierce energy. We saw it when he coached our Habs. I can only imagine what he could have done with DGMB’s team. Life goes on. Merci Pat.
Wait, wait, you kids think the stupid city of Toronto gets off easy here? Please and FFS! How fucking low has the celebration and respect for our game’s best gotten to when it is more about them and their putrid, sickening city and worse, team. The HHoF does not deserve to be in that blue and white shithole. What a fucking joke! I guess I can blame the other generational butt-o-jokes, the PQ party. No other reason why all things NHL HQ are in that town of smoke, pigs and cabbage. (That combo should sound tasty). How fucking pathetic to have an annual HHoF ONLY there. To have a manufactured leaf ‘all-star’ vs. HHoFers game? Dan Daoust and Peter Ing? Really? Really? Fuck off! There’s karma brewing bitches.
Also, get Carbo into the HHoF before cujo. Please and thank you.
Its time for some justice. When Montreal comes to town the local rink is full and the southern cash registers ring for once. Yet when Montreal wants a free agent the tax differential is punative. For example it will cost PAP almost $350,000 a year to play for the Habs. Its not fair. I suggest that the cap must be adjusted to take into account local taxes. And the Tea Party teams have to give some of that Hab boxoffice back!
Nice HHoF rant moe - couldn't agree more about that classless city and organization.
Now I see the Habs begin another 4 games in 6 nights (all tough matchups) before 4 days off to rest up for the Sabres. WTF is up with the schedule maker this year? I can only assume he resides in that same aforementioned shithole of Toronto - though the leaf and leaffools will have you believe they have the worse schedule in the history of hockey.
Anyway, time to clip some wings. Penguins don't need them anyway. You know what I'm liking about the Pens. Malkin's mean streak. Did you see that hit on Girardi (i think it was) on the weekend? He'd look pretty damn fine in the CH in my books. Just sayin'.
When asked if analytics play a role in player evaluation and acquisition, Bergevin responded, "It's all about balance," while asserting that he prefers to see a player in person. http://www.tsn.ca/statistically-speaking-bergevin-burke-dubas-discuss-analytics-at-conference-1.137914

Oh well, can't win them all. But they're going nowhere in the playoffs with this defence corps.
The mediots will be lapping this up. It'll "prove" them right that the Habs aren't actually a good team. Because no good teams lose, ever. Like the Pens 5-0 loss to the Rags last week or the Ducks' 6-2 loss to the Panthers this weekend. Didn't happen. Good teams never lose.
What I don't like is once the Habs get down they completely leave the game. I realize it's 4-0, but no one seems interested in blowing that shut out. Just going through the motions.
I think I've figured out why MT loves DD so much. All he does is pass it, never shoots. That is MT's whole game plan it seems like. I think he'd cream himself if the boys just passed it back and forth all night. I seriously believe anyone who takes a shot is berated by the coach. Only thing that explains it.
Hey, they outshot the Pens 14-2 in the 3rd. That's...something. Imagine how many shots they could have got if they, you know, shot it instead of playing grade school houseleague rules, three people have to touch it before you can shoot it.
Switch to the leaf game and immediately hear Ferraro say the following:
"During his HOF speech yesterday, Modano talked about how Gainey always reminded him about being the hunter instead of the hunted. And it's time for the leafs to become the hunter again!"
I can almost guarantee that the old racist will talk about how it was wrong for these Euros on Nashville to run up the score against the leaf on crotch's corner this week.
Habs game is up almost immediately. Had to wait about 1.5 hours their last few wins, but instantaneous tonight. For some reason. Can't put my finger on it.
I must admit to leaving after the second goal...had a bad feeling but didn't want to spread negative vibes...never mind - can't win 'em all - AND THE leaf LOST 9-2 SO FOR TODAY WHO GIVES A SHIT!
Patches is widely quoted as saying "DDD is the best hockey player I have ever played with" Well that is one of those "play it again Sam" miscontruesions. What Patches actually said was" per inch he is the best hockey player I have ever played with"
If DDD does not play like he is 5"7" he is ineffective. Some nights he can reach this height, but he cant do it 82 games a year. LA needs to dump salary in the body of Mike Richards. DDD would be a perfect fit in LA. As you know many LA superstars are short, Tom Cruise, Slyverster Stallone etc.
However I am not in favour of making a mostor trade and losing a core player, picks and prospects to get a real first line center. We are just going to have to wait and pray on gCHuck. If DDD has to be a placeholder for a short time, we should all have a tiny bit of patience.
Compared to Pittsburgh last night our D was dreadful. On D we should be fine, we wear missing Dreamweaver, PFK has not found fourth gear let alone fifth yet, and Bo and Tin Tin are going to be very soldid if not spectactular by the time the playoffs come.
"Loss to Penguins shows Habs still not an elite team"
Hey fuckfaces... even elite teams lose occasionally, and who exactly is an "elite" team these days? LA and Chicago? They've had their struggles as well. Give it up you fucking morons. How'd your leaf do last night?
I really should have stayed home. Some fucking douche at the local Cage was on some kind of power trip and playing mind games or something. couldn't hear the game because the volume was so low - I think I even heard a fork piercing a french fry. We politely asked our server to turn up the volume a little bit and it took at least 5 mins. Second period, the volume was down again and we politely asked, again, if they could turn it up a little, they did but hardly at all, so we asked again and our server said they misunderstood, they thought she asked them to turn it down, so they turned it up again. 3rd period. Same fucking shit, this time they turned it up, then 5-10 minutes later they put the volume really low. At this point I was really not a happy camper (not that I was earlier, but now I'm seething) because it's obvious someone is having fun with the volume control. My friend gets up, goes to the bar and asks them if they're fini de niaise (fucking around) and the douchebag simply answers no one's fooling around and walks away, maybe 5-10 minutes left in the 3rd it finally and strangely enough it gets left at the one level. They won't see me again.
1st toss) "Toronto Maple Leafs disapprove of tossing jersey onto ice: ‘We fight hard for that logo’..Oct 18 2nd toss) "We don't need fans like that': Leafs' Kadri responds to jersey toss .... Oct 12 3rd toss) "Kessel: Classless to throw Leafs jerseys on ice" .... Nov 19.
No players on the Canadiens would ever make such statements and if they ever did, can you even imagine what their fans would do?
"The Buffalo Sabres turned to 47-year-old goaltending coach Arturs Irbe as an emergency backup after Michal Neuvirth suffered an injury in Tuesday's game against the San Jose Sharks. Irbe has not played in the NHL since 2004 "
There's just doesn't seem to be any love for Marty.
TSN power rankings just came out. The 1st team in the league is....drumroll please....#9! Barely top ten. Apparently they're just getting by on special teams. Because, as you know, the PP has been dominating. At least sound like you know what you're talking about if you're going to hate.
The precious leaf are #18. We're told scores don't matter, they're about average, no biggie. They're ahead of Philly, Sens and Rangers.
It must be nice to be that delusional. Really, I mean that. It must be so out of it that the horrors of reality just whoosh right over your head.
I guess that makes the Habs twice as good as their team.
Also, too, they have every one of their 'pro hockey analysts and insiders' looking for answers and solutions to fix the leaf. 29 other teams in the NHL worth talking about. Sick, sick fucks.
Tampa is in their town, wanna bet the Stamkos 2016 in a leaf jersey shit kicks in after midnight tonight? Not sure if I'd prefer a massive leaf upset of 1-0 or a complete fucking debacle like last night.
Lots and lots of leaf schadenfreude today. Always makes for entertaining reading.
I believe some of the mediots have come to the realization there is no "fix" for the leaf. What you see is what you get from this bunch. I think if they got rid of #3 it would solve a lot of their problems, not that I'm offering any solutions.
Blind-sided: Blue Jackets’ Jack Johnson is bankrupt; who led him there is biggest shocker http://bluejacketsxtra.dispatch.com/content/stories/2014/11/20/blind-sided.html

ReplyDeleteI think I've figured out why MT loves DD so much. All he does is pass it, never shoots. That is MT's whole game plan it seems like. I think he'd cream himself if the boys just passed it back and forth all night. I seriously believe anyone who takes a shot is berated by the coach. Only thing that explains it.
ReplyDeleteC'mon Preds, keep pouring it on. Go for double digits!
ReplyDeleteToronto is melting down way ahead of schedule.
DeleteCant win them all.
ReplyDeleteHey, they outshot the Pens 14-2 in the 3rd. That's...something. Imagine how many shots they could have got if they, you know, shot it instead of playing grade school houseleague rules, three people have to touch it before you can shoot it.
ReplyDeleteSwitch to the leaf game and immediately hear Ferraro say the following:
ReplyDelete"During his HOF speech yesterday, Modano talked about how Gainey always reminded him about being the hunter instead of the hunted. And it's time for the leafs to become the hunter again!"
Again?
Always looking to fix their leaf. Almost 50 years of fixes.
DeleteI can almost guarantee that the old racist will talk about how it was wrong for these Euros on Nashville to run up the score against the leaf on crotch's corner this week.
ReplyDelete9-2
ReplyDeleteImagine all the page hits tsn would've gotten had they posted updates of the scores.
ReplyDeleteHabs game is up almost immediately. Had to wait about 1.5 hours their last few wins, but instantaneous tonight. For some reason. Can't put my finger on it.
DeleteSabers have won 5 games this year. 2 of them against the Sharks. 40% of their wins are against SJ. I find that hilarious for some reason.
ReplyDeleteI must admit to leaving after the second goal...had a bad feeling but didn't want to spread negative vibes...never mind - can't win 'em all - AND THE leaf LOST 9-2 SO FOR TODAY WHO GIVES A SHIT!
ReplyDeletePatches is widely quoted as saying "DDD is the best hockey player I have ever played with" Well that is one of those "play it again Sam" miscontruesions. What Patches actually said was" per inch he is the best hockey player I have ever played with"
ReplyDeleteIf DDD does not play like he is 5"7" he is ineffective.
From the Globe and Mail:
ReplyDelete"Loss to Penguins shows Habs still not an elite team"
Hey fuckfaces... even elite teams lose occasionally, and who exactly is an "elite" team these days? LA and Chicago? They've had their struggles as well. Give it up you fucking morons. How'd your leaf do last night?
Headline should have been, "NHL teams do not get blown out by Buffalo and Nashville"
DeleteI accept full responsibility.
ReplyDeleteThanks for filling in 29 and moeman for filling in for 29.
I really should have stayed home.
ReplyDeleteSome fucking douche at the local Cage was on some kind of power trip and playing mind games or something. couldn't hear the game because the volume was so low - I think I even heard a fork piercing a french fry.
All the best for Pascal Dupuis.
ReplyDeleteRoch Carrier's 'The Hockey Sweater' turns 30. Feels more like 47.
ReplyDeleteTell your friends and foes for fun.

He was on with Mitsumi this afternoon.

One of our research student's name is Mitsumi. I love that name.
Delete1st toss) "Toronto Maple Leafs disapprove of tossing jersey onto ice: ‘We fight hard for that logo’..Oct 18
ReplyDelete2nd toss) "We don't need fans like that': Leafs' Kadri responds to jersey toss .... Oct 12
3rd toss) "Kessel: Classless to throw Leafs jerseys on ice" .... Nov 19.
No players on the Canadiens would ever make such statements and if they ever did, can you even imagine what their fans would do?
The CH represents what class is. We've seen a few dolts come and go but the organization does not stand for pinheads like phatboy and phaneur.
Delete"The Buffalo Sabres turned to 47-year-old goaltending coach Arturs Irbe as an emergency backup after Michal Neuvirth suffered an injury in Tuesday's game against the San Jose Sharks.
ReplyDeleteIrbe has not played in the NHL since 2004 "
There's just doesn't seem to be any love for Marty.
TSN power rankings just came out. The 1st team in the league is....drumroll please....#9! Barely top ten. Apparently they're just getting by on special teams. Because, as you know, the PP has been dominating. At least sound like you know what you're talking about if you're going to hate.
ReplyDeleteThe precious leaf are #18.
DeleteAlso, too, they have every one of their 'pro hockey analysts and insiders' looking for answers and solutions to fix the leaf.
DeleteI believe some of the mediots have come to the realization there is no "fix" for the leaf. What you see is what you get from this bunch. I think if they got rid of #3 it would solve a lot of their problems, not that I'm offering any solutions.
Best comment on the web today was 'give #3 the #2'.
DeleteThis is one leaf 'front and centre' story I don't mind at all.
DeleteBlind-sided: Blue Jackets’ Jack Johnson is bankrupt; who led him there is biggest shocker
ReplyDeletehttp://bluejacketsxtra.dispatch.com/content/stories/2014/11/20/blind-sided.html
I know they earn millions but I feel bad for him, seems like he really got bamboozled.
Wow, what kind of parents would do that to their own child?
DeleteMoney is the root of all evil.
C'mon Ref Fraser on Gallagher...
