  1. "We'd like to get a little bit of a break with some good goal-tending from our backup," Julien said. "And I guess we'll have to go back to the drawing board and look at how we want to approach this."

So now that whining about the refs can't work any more, the game plan and strategy to save his own skin was to put Subban up against one of the top teams for his debut so he can throw him under the bus if they lose rather than giving him a start against Edmonton or any other lower seeded team during Rasks TWENTY-FIVE games. No, he chose the Blues knowing they would likely lose anyway to have the excuse of throwing Subban under the bus. And then he puts him back in? why? is it because the loss goes on the record of who finished the game right?
    What a total fucking POS

Here's hoping ex-leaf coach Paul Maurice can embarrass his former team. Apparently, according to the Toronto Sports Network, the leaf have too much pride to tank. You'd never know it watching them.

Go Habs! Please win this game. Thank you.

    1. The leaf has never had integrity so not surprised their 'pride' is being called into question. Funny how, despite 25 or so games to go that the genius of shanahan hasn't even bothered to try and improve his team. Put as much lipstick on this hogtown pig as you want, they are tanking.

Just reading some comments over at HI/O... one of moe's fave mediots Mr. Shannon was ripping on the Habs earlier saying they were no good, Gonchar and Gilbert are busts and Montreal will be gone in the first round. Moron pj suck reminded him that they are currently first in the East. On that note time for a scotCH on the rocks. Sip! And I will be sipping all night!

    Go Habs!

I just want to mention I will be attending a fund raising dinner tomorrow evening here in Saint John that will include two, count'em, two Habs alumni greats, the one and only Le Demon Blonde, Guy Lafleur, along with his linemate and fellow sniper Steve Shutt. Although I already have both players autographs on hockey cards, I have some other memorabilia I would like signed. Looking forward to some great stories!

First overall in the Eastern conference and second overall in the entire league. Not bad for a team the brain dead and envious Toronto media say is no good. How's their team doing these days? Well, they are the lead story at the Toronto sports network for beating the Winnipeg Jets last night.

    ReplyDelete
  59. Interesting that the article was titled "Leafs hurt Jets' playoff hopes with OT win" rather than focusing on the jets getting an important point and remaining in the 1st wildcard spot.

They are truly narcissistic, sick fucks broadcasting nothing but pure bullshit out of their asses. They're so fucking deep into it, I don't know that they know anymore. I know they don't fucking care.

    1. Oddly, I came here just to laugh at that title. I just finally got stable internet service and the first headline I see is that one. I check the scores, get confused, check the standings, get even more confused. They're going to put their eyes out grasping for those straws.

Toronto sports network, Rogers and more importantly, cbc/hnic hitched their wagons to the leaf over two decades ago. They can't quit now, to them it's like crack cocaine. There's no turning back and fuck the rest of the Canadian teams.

  60. Got to Rio this afternoon. Splurged on an apartment here in Copacabana. Penthouse with giant terrace overlooking the beach (down the block) and some favelas on the mountainside to the right. Who said teachers don't make money? Oh, right, I haven't actually paid for this yet.

Strolled along the beach earlier. Lots of barely clothed people of course. Food makes no sense here, I got a chicken parmeson with rice and salad and that's about $12. But a can of Sprite is $5. Whatever, it all works out in the end.

All caught up on the games and whatnot, I think. First in the East, but imagine if they actually beat those bottom feeder teams. They'd be challenging Nashville. Sigh. They need a scorer. And I say give Patches the C before the playoffs.

I was going to go see a soccer game at the Maracana tonight, but while I was dodging parrots and snakes in the rainforest they changed the location to some stadium on the outskirts of the city (well, it's the Olympic Stadium apparently), so I won't be going. My goal is not to get stabbed too many times while here, so long trips to deserted neighbourhoods is not on the agenda. Early start tomorrow as I want to go visit Jesus up on the hill early early. Already saw him waving at me in the taxi from the bus station. I'll put in a good word for our Habs.

  61. Rask gets a penalty for playing the puck in the 'no goalie zone' and Hawks score. Frustrated, Rask then whacks the post with his stick and ends up hitting Versteeg and gets another penalty just 6 seconds later. Hawks will start the 2nd on the PP. broons 2-1 end of first.

  63. Congrats to PatCHes - NHL's 3rd star.

THIRD STAR – MAX PACIORETTY, LW, MONTREAL CANADIENS

Pacioretty shared first in the NHL with four goals and a +6 rating to lead the Canadiens (38-16-5, 81 points) to five out of eight possible standings points. He tallied 1-1—2 in a 2-0 victory over the Detroit Red Wings Feb. 16. Pacioretty then registered one point in each of his next two games, finding the back of the net in a 4 2 loss to the Ottawa Senators Feb. 18 and picking up one assist (and scoring in the shootout) in a 3-2 defeat to the Florida Panthers Feb. 19. He capped the week with a pair of goals, including the game-winning marker, in a 3-1 triumph over the Columbus Blue Jackets Feb. 21. The 26-year-old New Canaan, Conn., native leads the Canadiens and shares sixth in the NHL with 29 goals in 59 games this season. He also paces the League with a +33 rating, while his seven decisive markers are one off first place.

Hey FHFers, had a great time at the fund raiser last night listening to Guy and Steve tell their stories about the 70's Habs dynasty team. One thing for sure was they were all united in their dislike of Coach Bowman, until they picked up their Stanley Cup CHeques! Sip!

I enjoyed every minute, plus got some old memorabilia autographed.

The menu was mostly Chinese buffet with Caesar salad, prime rib and roasted potatoes thrown in.
