Good job moeman, always something for everyone.
ReplyDeleteGreat job Moeman - nice ones all round! I lost my internet last night just after Dish scored his goal - so a great Friday for me - a day off, habs win, TFS gets 43, the Bruins on the verge of no playoffs annd no kings either! Back to Dish - I loved how he joined the rush on that goal - he needs to do more of that. And look at what happens when youi throw a load of people in front of the net!! Habs need home ice for the playoffs so I have changed my mind...play TFS until the game is out of reach then bring in Toker.
ReplyDeleteIncroyable moe!
ReplyDeleteBon vendredi sexxy mes ami(e)s!!!
HOT TAKE AHEAD!
ReplyDeleteFirst let me say how proud I am of TFS getting to 43 wins. It's been an amazing season and he deserves 100% the Hart and Vezina awards he's going to win unless only the mediots are allowed to vote.
HOWEVER, I have a real issue with the record. When Plante had 42 wins (twice), he also had 10 ties and 14 ties. When my numbersake got 42 wins, he had 8 ties. For the sake of argument, let's say each of them would have won 50% of those ties if they had 4 on 4 and the SO in those eras (and really, considering their offenses in front of them, 50% is laughable). Then, TFS would be nowhere near the record.
Point is, every wins record in the loser point era deserves an asterisk.
Now get off my lawn.
You are not even old and your grumpy. I was Thinkingaboot the same things without math. Not to steal my own thunder but if somehow Carey was part of a Philelpha experment he would go through what they called a seaon without a single goal passing the line.
DeleteBack then they also didn't have video to analyse goalies like they do today or the scouting reports they have now. It's a new era with new rules and many more teams to face. TFS doesn't have le gros Bill, the Rocket, LafLeur Big Bird, Gainey etc...
DeleteA picture of Ginger and Mary Ann together, exuse me I have to leave my cubicle and go to the bathroom to celebrate, and hope I do not dent the ceiling tile with evidence including DNA.
ReplyDeleteNot to be simple but I must quote the Aztecs
ReplyDeletesleep when your dead
TFS will play Toronto even if they need to install an overhead crane to insure agaist a fact of donut boy crashing the net;
Donut boy doesn't crash anything except the front door of a Tim Horton's.
Deleteack ack It is nothing but revealing to note the only terrorist proof doors in the Tim empire are close to the Air Canada center most known for providing golden parachutes for bad hockey players/
Deletefear the monster, he killed the leaf and now we should fear him
ReplyDeleteTFS starts tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteTherrien decided to start Price because this will only be his 4th start in 10 days and it could be a week until he plays again
"This will be the first time in Jeff Petry's NHL career he will take part in the playoffs" Let's hope he likes it and decides not to test the market.
ReplyDeleteDGMB needs to resign Dish. I like his game. Suits the Habs very well.
DeleteI like him too.
Deletedish is so smooth he never needs teh Bosch Melie or lesser brands to stay clean
Delete“I’m not retiring,” the 55-year-old coach said. “I’m not going anywhere.”
ReplyDeleteHe said he is focused on coaching the Leafs to one last win.
“I want this to be our playoffs,” Horachek said.
There's one right at the corner of my street but I rarely if ever go but Tim's has a selection of Nutella doughnuts and pastries.

DeletePlus, you can order a bagel (sure it's not Fairmont or St-Viateur but please forgive those of us in the bagel wastelands) and ask for it with Nutella. They'll give you a small container of Nutella to spread on the bagel. Nutella self-serve spread might also be available for other things like tea biscuits but I haven't asked.
DeleteMy daughter brings me a dozen from Fairmount every month.
DeleteGood day fellow FHFers, first, nice job by moe to celebrate Carey Price's record setting performance. I'm afraid I have to disagree with our good friend Habsfan29 regarding an asterisk for the 43rd win. As much as it pissed me off that the mediots kept harping on the Habs being a crap team and Price doing all the heavy lifting...they weren't completely wrong. The Habs aren't a crap team, they are a cap-made parity team with some above average players spread throughout the lineup. Price makes them that much better and able to compete in bettman's league mandated mediocrity circus. I never saw Plante play. I loved Kenny Dryden and Saint Patrick probably would have won more and retired a Hab if not for Ronald Corey's incompetence. The first two names mentioned played in front of powerhouse dynasties. I would argue the '86 and '93 teams had more star power than today's Habs. Carey Price deserves credit for being able to win this much in a parity league with one legitimate sniper playing in front of him. Well done Carey.
ReplyDeleteWhile the Canadiens, Canucks, Flames, Jets and likely the Turds all making the playoffs, it's laughable and pathetic at the same time that the leafool mediots are celebrating their 27th place finish and a 9.5% chance at winning the draft lottery. What a sad sack fucking outfit. The Oilers aren't much better.
I won't put an * next to TFS' 43 (soon to be 44) wins. I'm to lazy to look it up but the Dryden teams probably scored more in 70 games than Price's 82. It is always a CHallenge to compare different generations. TFS™ faces some almost 700 different players, whilst Plante had to deal with 5 other teams. Also, wooden sticks.
DeleteMathis hard we all know that, but sumbimes the number dont lie
ReplyDelete"Lego's 14 goals at even strength puts him right behind Plekanec at 15, and has him in the same company as Bobby Ryan, Wayne Simmonds, Ryan Kesler, Tyler Toffoli, Chris Kreider, and David Perron. Something to think about for all the Lego toy abusers of the world."
I never like riding dead horses or play broken records, the first does not make the needle move and the other is hell on fidelity. However where is the fucking 24/7 media with nothing important to say on TFS today, fucking crickits, CTV needs to fire their president or something. OH the fucking humanity.
ReplyDeleteI'd probably cry more out of joy!
ReplyDeleteThe SFU hate for the Habs will grow in these playoffs. They have their leaf Draft pick, the Jets, the Jays, the Raps and the Argos non-field as more important stories.
the M., not sure where your comment went.
ReplyDeleteGeez, maybe the mediots saw it and destroyed it out of fear it may come true.
DeleteWeird stuff.
DeleteNice set of pix today moeman. With the Laffs are calling up Colton Orr for the game tomorrow - watCH your knees boys and the roaches will love it...the Laffs put the ass in class.
ReplyDeleteThx and nice to see your comment Not Geoff.
DeletePaging 29, paging 29..... I'm missing an ingredient for your brown NAFTA, I have Forty Barrel Creek whiskey, a coffee liqueur and the milk (skim), I can't remember the other stuff.
ReplyDeletegetting fucked up the bum by Mexico building all our cars is missing
DeleteRE: 29's comment on TFS's recored:
ReplyDeleteI've seen this comment around the internets and I get the logic behind it. But the fact is, it's impossible to compare eras. The Rocket helped a friend move during the day before he scored his 50 in 50 goal (so the legend goes...it's a part of our history). Compare that to today's guys who have all the conditioning and prep a pro athlete could ever ask for. How about the change from wood to...whatever the hell they use now for sticks? Goalies with masks to goalies without masks? How about comparing teams before the end of the Cold War to teams with Russians, Czechs, Slovaks, etc? Should pre-1967 teams have an astericks next to their Cup because there were only 6 teams?
I'm not saying I know the answer to any of these questions, I'm just saying it's a can of worms. Once you start questioning one record, you can start questioning every record. It's just better to go by the numbers and let the fans talk about hypotheticals and technicalities.
The Stick is not a big deal. Great players with wood got the same shot. The carbon lets everyone shoot like their great.
DeleteWhat's all this talk about bagels! You guys trying to make me home sick?! I don't know if I ever mentioned this here before, but I grew up right around the corner from Fairmount Bagel. I mean that literally. A few triplexes down on St. Urbain. Our back balcony shared an alley with Fairmount and we'd get the smell all day long in the house. I don't think it's there anymore, but my daycare was right next to it, on the corner. Needless to say, bagels made up a large portion of my diet in those days.
ReplyDeleteThen my parents moved us to suburban Ontario. We haven't forgiven them yet.

ReplyDeleteWow, the PittsBirds are in big trouble. I wonder if Sid would like to play in a real hockey market?
ReplyDeletehi brothers...
ReplyDeletea lil early considering game is only 1/2 over, but i really really want da broons, then tampy and then a rematch vs the rags. i really hope im not the only one here praying for that. further... i really hope the boys are looking for this line-up as well for nothing motivates better than revenge right?
lastly... i hope the teams plays well enough so that patCHes takes his time getting back. absolutely no rush to return at less than 100% from a knock on the head (parenteau, tanguay). am i right?
