Big time bush league move by tsn. VAN GM is doing his presser and they bail and wait almost 10 minutes for shammy's. Then they spew the muse lines one after another.
They won't use it unless it is to do one of those slimy backdoor financing deals.
Their team objective is to lose. At some point the league make have to ask Blab & Sham if they are throwing games and fine them to the tune of lets say $18M.
Their team objective is to tank, and tank hard for a crack at next year's phenom Austin Matthews. The leaf are going to be really, really bad even with the $50 million genius behind the bench, boy wonder Dumbass and super scout Hunter. Blabs will be squinting some fucking hard for 82 long games next season.
Not sure what to make of the CHarger trade. Cap space and more youth is about it I guess. MB has yet to address the Habs true problem, too much DDD and not enough scoring in the top 6. I have the utmost respect for Brandon Prust and what he brought to the Habs. Going toe to toe with the monster Lucic in Boston his first season is something I'll never forget. Going on 32, I would guess that MB wasn't going to resign him after this season.
Busy day so far...Phat Phil is a pen, mickey ribs gets to stay in Nashville to fight his case in court and the Habs lose Charger for someone I now have to google because I have never heard or him before. Plaid is going to be back, which I like but the Habs still need a sniper...
Let me add my thanks to the list for Charger. I love his ga,e and I always thought he would be a Hab for a lot longer. Thanks for all your efforts! Hi Habs go!
Zack Kassian was a highly regarded junior in his draft year and he went 13th overall to Buffalo that year. He's only 24, 6-3 and 223 lbs and along with DSiP will give the Habs a couple of heavy hitters up front. Still need a top notch sniper though. I don't think MB is done yet.
Thanks for that The M - I did look him up and while he can't be classed as a "sniper" - he does bring some size. He's younger and cheaper so hopefully he now has a breakout season with the Habs...oh hang on - I forgot - they still have the same coach - so 7-8 minutes a night for this guy then...ho hum...
OMG guys, MB was apparently being serious at his end of year presser! Another 4th line nobody. At least he'll fit right in.
Fearless prediction for next season: Price is great, but not magically amazing, Habs finish 3rd in the Atlantic and lose to the Wings in the first round, barely scoring any goals. DDD is on the first line the first and last game, MT is still coach in April and MB scratches his head and gets more 'depth' next summer.
Sorry, not feeling particularly optimistic. Like I said before, if the non-moves meant the young guys were finally going to get bigger roles I'd be all for it. But we all know with MT at the helm, that ain't going to happen. And the #1 problem for this team, not even the scoring, has always been the disturbing symbiotic relationship between DDD and MT. The Habs will never win anything with both those guys on the team because they can't be their best together.
But what do I know. Maybe you really can win the Cup with 1.3 goals per game.
O-Man - I saw your post last night and thought "Why would I want to see that?!"...so I left it alone...Until this morning when I had a more sober opportunity to think about who had sent it and thought to myself "This'll be funny!"...and sure enough it was. Good one pal!!
I loved CHarger, he made the team stronger, who is going to drop the gloves for us now. He was a special ice fighter, seemingly never took a hard punch. Had some skill wasted by Empty, ask Chris Nilan. Kassian was a hot prospect traded for Cody Hodgson who also was a top 15 draft pick. The Sabers just wavied him. Phat phil will be a good fit in Pitss, he needs a Crosby to carry him. No metions of Zach Rinaldo going to the Broons to keep the goonery alive. Both Boston and Toronto are in full tank mode.
So now that I know that MB is holding off his presser until tomorrow/today/whatever, I mean the 2nd, maybe there's still something that's going to happen?....maybe? possibly?...
Anyway, a very good article about what this team should be doing. Nothing new here, basically: PLAY THE YOUNGSTERS!
DD alert! DD alert! Oh wait, not that DD... the Philthy Phuckers sign UFA Davis Drewiske, another one of MB's many depth defencemen he likes to accumulate, like marbles when we were kids.
Man, the SFU's sure are trying to put a positive spin (especially the tsn clowns) on the leaf tanking mission. Too funny.
MONTREAL – Montreal Canadiens general manager Marc Bergevin announced Thursday that forward Christian Thomas has agreed to terms on a one-year, two-way contract with the Club (2015-16). Thomas, 23, played 18 games with the Canadiens in 2014-15.
Squid knew what wearing the CH meant also. Fucking Goat really butchered that situation. I would wager a healthy Squid could have made the difference in getting past Tampa. That little sniper could put the puck in the net.
Have a great day everyone!
ReplyDeleteGo Habs Go!
Happy Canada Day everyone!
ReplyDeleteHappy Canada Day down Canada way!
ReplyDeleteHappy Canada Day all!
ReplyDeleteMB don't bother with FA...there's nobody worth the $$$ being thrown around. No more than 3.5 for Belesky if you must...
I'll be on the road from Fredericton bacl to Hfx later so y'all have fun.
Happy Canada Day, FHFers!!
ReplyDeleteSo SFU thinks Blabcock 'wants' to re-invigorate fat phil. Sure.

DeletePhat Phil traded to Penquins.
ReplyDeleteI guess we'll never know if Blabcock would've re-invigorated him.
DeleteI was looking forward to the melt-downs.
DeletePlaid extended 2 yrs, so 3 more years @ under $1M per.
ReplyDeleteHere's the breakdown:
DeleteGreg Pateryn has signed 2-year, 1-way extension in MTL. He's now got 3 years of 1-ways with Canadiens $575K / $750K / $850K.
PaP a leaf.
ReplyDeleteNow the SFU says Blabcock wasn't going to be able to fix fat phil.
Zach Kassian is now a Hab
ReplyDeleteKassian a Hab.

ReplyDeleteMy Prusty. Gone. Forever. *weeps*
ReplyDeleteI really like Prust and I will miss him.
DeleteKiss isn't pretty but hopefully ups his game. Gonna miss CHarger's play and good looks. Somehow beautiful Vancouver may just suit him.

ReplyDeleteThey won't be able to do that to Bergevin, he'll only be speaking to the media tomorrow.

ReplyDeleteSorry I missed whatever fun happened yesterday. I was drunk.
ReplyDeleteMy only question about the CHarger trade is "How will this affect Hockey Wives?"
Srsly, I will miss him, and his heart, and his dedication to the cause. One of the ones who understood what the CH means.
